About
When you hear the skill name Podkopayeva on floor, it typically refers to the double front with a half twist—Podkopayeva’s iconic skill—but both elements are awarded to Podkopayeva in the current code of points.

Theoretically, she got the double front named after herself by performing it at the 1993 World Championship in Birmingham, though the super gym nerds with the fewest friends in the class will be quick to note that Olga Strazheva stuck a double front on floor as far back as the 1986 Junior European Championship.

The double front appeared in the code of points for years before Podkopayeva’s 1993 routine, officially attributed to no one. After Podkopayeva performed the half-twisting version at the 1995 World Championship in Sabae, that entered the code as the “double salto forward, also with 1/2 twist (Podkopayeva).” Then, when the skills were separated into different values in 2013, both skills were given individually to Podkopayeva.

But this one is sort of the “Podkopayeva.” Not the Podkopayeva.
