About
Far too simple to be used as a standalone element in an elite floor routine, the front tuck is nonetheless a common feature in routines of many levels as a connection pass favorite. It garners a tenth of bonus when performed out of a D element, two tenths of bonus when performed out of an E element, and covers up under-rotation of a prior twisting skill on any occasion. Win-win. Except for us. Lose.

Because the requirement for a front tumbling element must be fulfilled during an acro pass, we also see athletes throw in a front tuck with step-out as the first element in an indirect combination pass—even though it won’t receive bonus—in order to fulfill that requirement.
