The back layout to land on two feet was one of the many beam mounts that received a 2017 upgrade, going from E (0.5) to F (0.6), the second-highest value given to any beam mount in the code.
This upgrade also demonstrated the risk-reward limit for most gymnasts on beam, as the upgrade of the layout stepout from D (0.4) to E (0.5) encouraged many athletes to start performing it, while the upgrade of the two-footed layout did not have nearly the same effect. Nope. Too hard. Too scary.
