Despite this skill being universally known as the Shushunova and named after Yelena Shushunova at the 1985 world championships in Montreal, the 2013 update to the code of points removed Shushunova’s name attribution from this skill in the (somewhat inconsistent) purge of names for A and B elements.
In the same vein as Shaposhnikovas or Tkatchevs on bars, the term Shushunova is universally applied to any skill that lands in front support (like the pike jump full to front support, aka pike full Shushunova), but specific skill named after Shushunova is this straddle jump.
