A tempting yet aggressively terrible idea, the switch side 1/2 on beam is nearly impossible to make look good. An actual straddle position is almost never achieved, rendering the skill more of a switch 3/4 than a switch 1/4 to straddle with an extra 1/2, which is what it’s supposed to be.
The risk and general horribleness have combined to make the switch side 1/2 on beam a very rare skill, even though it was upgraded to E value in 2017. Hasn’t really caught on, and we’re all OK with that.
