I can not believe today’s OUTRAGEOUS overscoring of the SEC teams! Oh, wait…none of the meets have even started yet. Nevermind this message for now…Just re-read this comment after the meets are held and it should still apply! 😉
I hope you watched the meets this weekend. Overscoring is clearly not just an SEC issue . . .
Am I alone in seeing massive form deductions in Priessman’s bars? I would say she has 0.2 in built in deductions for consistently sloppy form, especially on her pak. So, why all the praise and 9.9+ scores?
Did NCAA do away with form deductions while I wasn’t paying attention?
Seriously though, Edney. Whoa. She’s going to be huge for LSU for years. I can’t believe she’s just a freshman!
…And I can’t believe that the UCLA-born and bred Kennedi Edney–after saying for her whole young life that she was going to follow her NCAA champion dad to UCLA–isn’t at UCLA! I guess she wanted to find a school with an older more experienced head coach. LOL
A teenager picked the school they felt was right for them and didn’t just blindly follow in their parents’ footprints. *GASP*
Top 5 AA this week happen to all be freshmen.
Spencer, can you explain what is required for an NCAA UB routine. i’m trying to like ncaa gymnastics but perplexed. I don’t understand how Kyla Ross does a maloney, overshoot, and stalder shoot, and that’s it before the dismount… and gets a 10. maybe other gymnasts are also only doing 3 skills but since they’re not connected it seems like more than a 10 second routine?
Ross apparently had no form deductions and stuck her landing therefore a 10 since all the requirements where there (it’s the Florida Bridgy floor debate).
Personally I thought if Ross received a 10 then Peng should’ve also had a 10 because her routine was better.
