It will be very important today to consult the schedule in advance of the meets because there’s quite a bit of overlap requiring some planning and device prioritization. It may get stressful. You’re also encouraged to use the comments section to keep others apprised of any crazy that might have occurred in a meet you’re watching.

#6 Florida @ #6 Kentucky

#18 Auburn @ #13 Georgia

My favorite thing so far today is that Maryland has made its statbroadcast feed password protected. Great.

Georgia is able to add Vaculik on vault today to have six vaults. It’s a miracle!

ROTATION 1

Hyland – VT – Kentucky – good clean Yfull, steps back into salute, so not a stick, straight position in the air, just some pike at the end. 9.825.

Baker – UB – Florida – Ray, solid – good vertical on bail – nice final handstand (early one was a little short) – sticks her double front, some cowboy, good set. 9.800 seems a little lowish for sticking the dismount, compared to usual.

Coca – VT – Kentucky – hope to the side on a Yfull, legs apart on the block –

Boren – UB – Florida – Tkatchev to nice handstand – clear hip – leg break on bail, good vertical – short final handstand – clean DLO, nearly stuck.

John’s telling us it was a 9.900 for baker, the scores say 9.800.

Dukes – VT – Kentucky – Y1/2, large bound forward

Foberg – UB – Florida – nice flight on Pak, some legs, same on Pak to Gienger – but a little close as inbar giengers often are – good height on FTDT.

Vaculik – VT – Georgia – much of what we’ve come to expect, a crazy pike in the air, but manages nearly to stick the landing.

Davis – VT – Kentucky – good height on full, two small steps to the side, off at an angle, knee form.

Moss – UB – Auburn – short first hs – gigantic and excellen gienger – bail – arch on final handstand – pretty DLO, stuck.

Gowey – UB – Florida – Ray, good – toe on – Pak is lovely and clean – rushes that low-bar 1/2 turn a touch – you could take a hs or two but nice toe form – DLO stuck. Sytrong.

Dickson – VT – Georgia – hop back on full

I LOVE that Alicia calls the Ray a Hindorff like a 90-year-old.

Rosa – VT – Kentucky – very large bound back on full

Pretty toe point on the Jaeger from Day for Auburn –

Hundley – UB – Florida – Shap, solid, float, same on Pak, but leg break – catches the Shap 1/2 – FTDT dismount, hop forward. Good rotation for Florida, though. 9.725 for Hundley, tighter than we would expect, leg breaks and handstands there.

Korth – VT – Kentucky – usual pretty 1.5, hop forward.

McMurtry – UB – Florida – Ray, fairly close catch this time – solid bail to toe shoot – good handstands – large FTDT, hop forward.

Milliet – UB – Auburn – toe on – Tkatchev, lovely toe point and counter rotation – Pak with a leg break – REALLY short final handstand – giant to stuck double tuck. Shame about some of the handstands and leg breaks because her toes are amazing.

After 1: Kentucky 49.100, Florida 48.950

Score QUITE tight for Florida in that bars rotation compared to other meets we see, for one of their better bars rotations of the season. The problem here is that Florida had a better bars than Kentucky had a vault, and yet Kentucky leads. Kentucky fine on vault, but can be stronger. Florida had some close catch and handstand problems, which were definitely punished. Some large separations, particularly on Boren’s and McMurtry’s sets, which typically would have followed Judge #1 at most meets.

After 1: Georgia 49.150, Auburn 48.950

Georgia gets a 9.900 from Johnson to lead the rotation, Auburn with a 9.875 from Cerio. Milliet went 9.675 because of that last handstand most of all, which was basically horizontal.

ROTATION 2

Skaggs – VT – Florida – Yfull, bounce back

Carlisle – UB – Kentucky – short first hs – high Jaeger, a little loose, shortish on bail – needs more vertical on hs – VERY nice stick on FTDT.

Alexander – VT – Florida – Baumann was going to vault but alas – great height on her full and better control on landing, small hop

Johnson – UB – Georgia – Usual gienger – some better handstands – flings DLO a little with a hop

Warren – UB – Kentucky – Jaeger, nice shape – good handstand – bail, short – DLO, pike-hollows in the second salto – step back

Oaskley – UB – Georgia – good first hs – Shap with leg form to Pak with no legs, lovely pak, great 1/2 turn on low – hop back on dismount. 9.725.

Boren – VT – FLorida – Good Y1.5, high, small slide back, knees at the end

Rechenmacher – UB – Kentucky – falls on Jaeger

Vaculik – UB – Georgia – arch in first handstand – giant full to excellent Vaculi-Gienger – solid on the bail – some short handstands – usual FTDT legs, but a larger pace back this time

Baker – VT – Florida – giant bound forward out of Y1.5 this time, very large bounce that will take away the score. Still 9.825? Bars judges and vault judges not judging the same sport. I would think the hop alone was two tenths.

Watson – VT – Auburn – Pretty nice 1.5, got it around – some knees – hop forward

Snead – UB – Georgia – pretty first hs – Tkatchev, somewhat flat but fine – very clean and secure bail position – focusing well on handstands – DLO with small step. Good set. Needed.

Slocum – VT -Florida – Let’s see about this one. There it is! Handspring pike 1/2, small slide back. That’s what we came to expect last season.

Dickson – UB – Georgia – Great height and counter on tkatchev – hits bail to shoot – DLO, a tad short with a hop forward.

Kwan – UB – Kentucky – falls on Jaeger – second person to take a Jaeger way too far – Redoes the Jaeger and hits it but struggles on her overshoot and can’t cast out of it –

Glenn – VT – Auburn – Y1.5, deep landing, some legs in the air, hop forward

Pedersen – UB – Georgia – SHE LIVES! shortish first handstand – Piked jaeger is hit – Pak with some legs – some handstand issues but working through it – double fornt, major cowboy with a large lunge forward – that’s really what has been keeping her out of the lineup

McMurtry – VT – Florida – A very McmUrtry full, just a hop in place because it’s too easy for her.

After 1: Auburn 98.075, Georgia 98.025

Georgia with a bunch of 9.7s, falls just a hair behind Auburn, with some very charitably scored Y1.5s in there. 9.875 for Glenn? Really? Both meets vault is scoring way nicer than bars.

Korth – UB – Kentucky – very efficient piked jaeger, hitting handstand – rushed the bail a tad, same with final handstand, just working past it too quickly – DLO 1/1 and basically stuck, just a rebound in place. Good hit.

Jenny doing a solid job pretending she’s not pissed about the bars scoring.

After 2: Florida 98.325, Kentucky 97.250

Solid vault rotation for Florida. Can get better. They’ll want a few more 10.0 starts in there, and Baker’s was not a strong one, but Boren and McMurtry improved their landings a little, and of course Slocum improved a lot, so it’s a solid sign. Kentucky counting a fall on bars basically decides this thing. Not their strongest bars.

ROTATION 3

Snead – BB – Georgia – bhs loso bhs, pretty series and she’s comfortable with it – the usual shortness on the switch, which is becoming clear as the struggle point in her routine – deep punch front but controlled well – 2/1, bounce in place. One down.

Smith – FX – Auburn – double pike, legs apart, short with a lunge – 1.5 to layout to straddle shushunova – has to pull it back a little after arching the layout so it travels, but she worked through it – double tuck, cowboy, controlled-ish step back

Oakley – BB – Georgia – switch to split ring – now I see what Kathy was saying about the back leg on the switch, yes, good amplitude on those leaps though – secure loso series – aerial to split jump – gainer full hop back.

Stuart – BB – Kentucky – overturns full turn a touch – switch to double stag – lean correction on bhs series – cat leap side aerial tuck full dismount, stuck.

Sheppard – FX – Auburn – making her team debut – 3/1 mount with stumble step –

Slocum – FX – Florida – whip through to double pike, so they’ve ditched the DLO for this week, slide back on double pike – good amp on dance combo, but not the crispest landing positions – front full to front pike, solid –

Arnold – BB – Georgia – full turn – switch and tuck jump 1/1, legs on switch and underrotated on tuck just full – aerial to bhs is nice – switch and straddle 1/4, lean correction – 1.5 with pace forward. 9.675.

Korth – BB – Kentucky – full turn, pretty – bhs loso series with bent knees – cat leap with switch to back tuck, very secure – sticks 2/1

Hundley – FX – Florida – whip double tuck with slide back – 1.5 to layout, not the highest – double pike, short with lunge forward

Babalis – BB – Georgia – aerial to loso combo, has a little lean on the aerial but works through – switch to split, nice split – to back tuck, lean – full turn – check on kickover front – front full dismount with hop forward –

Poland – BB – Kentucky – three series to loso, comfortable – front walkover – switch to double stag, strong shapes – gainer pike, stuck, good

Day hits double Arabian for Auburn –

Foberg – FX – Florida – full in, does very well to control landing since she landed a little short, didn’t show it – front full to front pike, a litlte bounce, took it right to the edge – double tuck with small hop

Dickson – BB – Georgia – aerial to switch, largish break with leg up – loso series secure, a little tighter than usual – switch to split 1/2, not quite 180 – 1.5 dismount, basically stuck –

Slappey – FX – Auburn – front lay to rudi, good – switch 1/2 and split jump full – double pike, lunge –

Kwan – BB – kentucky – hits los series, some legs – switch to stag, small lean – cat leap to side aerial tuck full, leg-apart stick

Baumann – FX – Florida – double tuck, smooth and clean, controlled – 1.5 to front full, some lunging forward – phenomenal leaps – double pike, very secure landing, literally screams when she landed it. But a good scream, a happy one.

Vega – BB – Georgia – wobbles early – nice toe point on loso series, solid – cat leap to aerial to beat, comfortable – switch to split 1/4 – side aerial to full with slide back

Milliet – FX – Auburn – front lay to rudi, nice shape, a little slide – switch ring to switch 1/2, lovely switch ring, a little flat on switch 1/2 – double pike – 1.5 to layout.

Dukes – BB – Kentucky – lean correction loso series this time, otherwise strong – sticks 1.5

Boren – FX – Florida – DLO, very good – 1.5 to layout, completed her layout a bit too early, resulting in a lunge forward – split leap 1.5 to wolf full – double tuck.

After 3: Georgia 147.200, Auburn 147.175

Cloooooose.

Hyland – BB – Kentucky – switch to split – is her beam music Prince of Bel Air? – cat leap to aerial – bhs loso, all secure, didn’t connect all of it but doesn’t need to – full turn – cat leap side aerial full twist, stuck.

Baker – FX – Florida – Dos Santos, step forward but keeps in under control – double tuck, super high, bounces back – switch to switch full, very good extension – 1.5 to half to straddle, quite nice – really just the early open on the double tuck.

ROTATION 4

Michigan and Illinois feed working for anyone? Oh, of course not.

Arnold – FX – Georgia – double pike, lands a little low but fine – aerial – double tuck, solid – 1.5 to layout, overcooks the 1.5 a tad so the layout didn’t get very high but she pulled it around.

Sylvia – BB – Auburn – side aerial, nice amplitude – full turn – aerial to bhs, slower in connection – split to sheep, check, not the best sheep – gainer full step back

Babalis – FX – Georgia – whip double tuck, very well controlled, good one – 1/2 to front full, large lunge – split leap full to split jump fullish – double pike, very solid

Baker – BB – Florida – fall on double wolf turn, this is what we were worried about in her having to add in that difficulty – aerial to bhs is fine – straddle jump to split jump 1/2, check in between – side aerial layout full

Cerio – BB – Auburn – nice switch side – hits loso series – pretty leapies – front full dismount, stuck

Poland – FX – Kentucky – front tuck through to rudi, slide back – front 2/1 second pass, better –

Snead – FX – Georgia – whip through to double tuck,, good – rudi to straddle shushunova, clean – switch, wolf jump full to popa – double pike, controls her step to stay in bounds, one of her better of the season. 9.925 is still home floor though.

Skaggs – BB – Florida – wolf turn, switch to split – loso series, leg-up wobble and another check to save it – cat leap to switch side, hit – side aerial to full, stuck, good second half

Dickson – FX – Georgia – good double pike – 1.5 to layout clean – goooood switch side and popa combo – double tuck with a bounce/slide back. Good though. Still gets 9.925. Oh honey. Judges.

Boren – BB – Florida – very secure loso series – switch to straddle jump, crooked in the air on straddle and a large lean – gainer loso, arm-wave cover -smallest slide back on gainer full

Vega – FX – Georgia – double pike is hit – 1.5 to front layout, good height – switch ring to split leap full, hitting her positions – double tuck, secure, score will obviously go big. 9.950.

Krippner – BB – Auburn – aerial to beat jump, quite nice – full turn, smooth – switch to split, good toes – bhs loso series with step back to save a wobble – slide forward on 1.5.

Gowey – BB – Florida –  bhs loso loso series, hit, not the most extended she can be – aerial to sissone, pretty sissone – full turn – gainer full. Good hit.

9.900 for Gowey.

49.250 on bars for Michigan. 9.900 for Zaziski.

FINAL: Georgia 196.725, Auburn 196.375

We’re waiting 775 hours for Kentucky’s meet to figure out its shit.

LOLLLL separation for Rechenmacher on floor was 9.3 and 8.6.

Hyland – FX – Kentucky – double pike, very secure – split jump full to wolf…”1.5????” says Alicia. 1.5 to layout, dances out a little.

Baumann – BB – Florida – loso series, gorgeous – switch to switch 1/2, hit – aerial to sissone, smooth – full turn – 1.5, almost sticks it but college-salutes it, pretty. 9.850. I was closer to the 9.900 judge than the 9.800 judge.

Korth – FX – Kentucky – double tuck, keeps that front foot down – 1.5 to layout stepout, we know I’m a sucker for that pass – double pike, a little more forward than she would like

McMurtry – BB – Florida – cat leap to kickover front, strong – bhs loso series, HUGE break and falls. Wow. Florida counting a fall. Did not expect a fall from McMurtry – switch to shush hip circle is fine – 2/1 hop. Still 9.425. Erkay.

Hrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Dukes – FX – Kentucky – double pike, controlled back leg, hit – switch ring to switch 1/2, good – front full to layout, dances out – double tuck, solid and secure. Good routine.

FINAL: Florida 196.325, Kentucky 195.950

On to LSU and Alabama!

Loeb – UB – hit her Shap but goes over on a handstand and comes off. First two routines before her were hit.

9.600 on vault for Harrold, in the lineup. Finnegan got 9.900

Hambrick – VT – kind of a large lunge on her 1.5 so not the vault she wanted but she did hit it.

Dickson – UB – arches a handsand but holds it somehow – hits bail, shortish – toe on hits that high tkatchev – short handstand afterward – FTDT sticks.

Edwards – VT – same issue as Hambrick – hits her 1.5 but a largish lunge, not quite the dynamics or distance of Hambrick, who went 9.800, so we’ll see.

Winston – UB – toe on – toe shap – tight handstand before her Pak, awesome as always – DLO, holds the stick. Nice except for that handstand.

Oh. The belt. Yes. That.

Priessman – VT – hits her full – rushes a little – step to the side – not the most distance, clean in the air.

Brannan – UB – toe 1/2 to Jaeger, good height – hits bail – short handstand – DLO with hop forward.

After 1: LSU 49.150, Alabama 49.150

Hmmmmm. Some weak vaulting from LSU. It started well with the 9.850 from Cannamela and 9.900 from Finnegan, but then missing the landing on all three of the 1.5s in the lineup. Alabama drops a fall and got saved by a couple strong routines at the end that snatched out some 9.875s.

I’ll also be keeping an eye on Oregon State and Utah, which is to begin shortly.

ROTATION 2

Desch – VT – well she waited for the flag! Hop back on full –

Durante – UB – 1/2 turn, a little loose back – great Jaeger – solid Pak, small leg break – good vertical position on 1/2 turn – FTDT, small hop back but then another step salute. 9.900. All of that was from the dismount?

Armbrecht – VT – good save on the 1.5 to hop backward, a squatty landing, OK

Hambrick – UB – Ray, maybe a tad close – good giant full to bail – short final handstand – FTDT and stuck. So what do we do with that score now? 9.925.

Childers – VT – nearly sticks her full – very flat off the table and some piking – but will save it with the landing.

Harrold – UB – Zuchold with a bit of legs – good hs – toe 1/2 to Jaeger, hit – small step back on double front. One of her stronger ones. A couple things, step back, a leg break, cowboy on the double front, but good. 9.900. Well now.

Mahoney – VT – clean full with hop back – good amplitude and shape, chest up

Edney – UB – Hindorff, big and hit – clear hip to bail, a little angle – hitting handstands – DLO, nearly holds the stick. Solid.

Dickson – VT – they want her into the vault lineup because she can do a DTY but was not ready with that full – lots of piking and a large bounce back – 9.700 is high

Priessman – VT – nice tkatchev, into Pak, usual leg break but not significant, very precise handstands – DLO, sticks. 9.900. We’re keeping these scores too close so that they’re not rewarding the difference in the routines.

Guerrero – VT – 1.5, just a hair short and has to step back – knees – a little off line

Finnegan – Ub – Ray, excellent – toe on – nice vertical on bail – muscles up that final handstand but gets it to vertical – deepish landing on DLO but holds it. 9.975 for that.

I don’t think you can call it a 10, because she had the squat on the DLO landing, some loose back on the toe on, and muscled elbows on the last cast (all things that don’t typically get taken as a .05 alone but do combine to make something not a 10).

After 2: LSU 98.775, Alabama 98.175

Both teams really struggled on vault today. Alabama did not have those landings. LSU picked it up with the sticks on bars.

Lee – Utah – VT – nice open on the full, hop back and to the side

Colussi-Pelaez – OSU – UB – nice first hs – good toes on Jaeger – hits vertical on bail, some bent elbows – secure handstands – DLO sticks, good.

Lewis – Utah – VT – great amplitude, too much amplitude, with a huge bounce backward

Singley – OSU – UB – full turn to tkatchev, close catch on tkatchev – bail, legs together – they are nailing final handstands – double tuck step back.

Tessen – Utah – VT – 1.5 – Robert standing in front of the landing so that we can’t see it. All part of his ploy. A little short on landing with a hop back.

Macadaeg – BB – LSU – switch to switch 1/2, lovely form obviously but a check – aerial – loso series, well executed and controlled – gainer full, stuck. Great after early check.

Minyard OSU falls on DLO –

MMG – VT – Utah – 1.5, landing sneaked up on her a little with a hop to the side – some knees –

Childers – FX – Alabama – full in, low but secure – 2/1, some leg crossing, just does keep that front foot down – split leap full to split jump full, somewhat indistinct in finishing position – front rudi to back tuck, had to correct into a back tuck because she had nothing out of the rudi –

Skinner – VT – Utah – Near stick on that one, hop in place, slightly to the side – some of her better control on landing.

Judges were about a half tenth too high on everyone but then couldn’t give Skinner a 10, so they had to bunch and give her the same score as MMG.

Hambrick – BB – LSU – L turn – hitch kick to side aerial – awesome leap positions – secure loso series – 2/1, leans to hold the stick. Her usual good.

After 1: Utah 49.475, Oregon State 49.075

Mahoney – FX – double pike, a tad short with a step forward – front full to front lay, a little flat with a dance out – nice extension on popa, crisp finish position – double tuck, slide back. Fine, not great.

Karas fell on floor for Michigan. 48.225. Yikers.

Edney – BB – aerial to split, fine – bhs loso, hit – switch to straddle 1/4, short of 180 on both – full turn – kickover front, very secure – 1.5, stuck. Good.

Desch – FX – double Arabian, does everything except sit it, large squat with a lunge back to save the fall, just pulls it out – 1.5 to 1/2 to split to front tuck, very strong – nice switch ring, not as strong on the split leap 1/1, short of 180 – double tuck, solid

Michigan has pulled Karas from the beam lineup now.

Desiderio – BB – aerial to split, nice – lean correction on loso series but small – switch to switch 1/2 to beat, not quite as nice on the switch 1/2 as Macadaeg or Finnegan but not a deduction, hits gainer full.

Lewis – UB – Utah – full turn to tkatchev, feet – nice vertical on bail – shortish final hs – DLO, a little whippy but stuck.

Armbrecht – FX – Hits double pike – switch side to popa, good – 1.5 to layout, hitting, good, fine, not the most amplitude, necessary because already counting a 9.700 – rudi, a stagger on that landing.

MMG – UB – Utah – shortish first hs – hits Deltchev – bail, clean – muscling up a couple handstands – double tuck step back.

Campbell – BB – fall early on aerial – hits her two back tucks (which is not a combination, I maintain, but individually well executed) switch to switch 1/2, nice – 2/1 very short and a hop forward.

Guerrero – FX – double pike bounce back – great switch side to popa – 1.5 to front full, controls the step out – rudi. Hit.

Reinstandtler overcooks her bars dismount with a lunge back.

Good open on full from Yanish, but large bound back

Lee – UB – Utah – good piked jaeger, some elbows on catch- mistake on overshoot that I missed? – double tuck dismount with bounce forward.

Finnegan – BB – LSU – two kind of large wobbles from Finnegan – early, adn then again on the side somi – side aeiral to stuck full. gets away with 9.750.

Dessaints goes for the 1.5, knee form, lands a litlte short with a step back but lands it.

Tessen – UB – Jaeger to overshoot, hit – much better on the dismount, sticks FTDT

Jacobsen – OSU – VT – Tsuk full, hop back but not a huge hop back

Skinner – UB – Utah – Shap with legs – hits bail – some arch on cast handstand – sticks FTDT.

9.975? With the obvious arch on the cast handstand? K. Even Little Peszek Sunshine was like, “No.”

After 3: LSU 147.975, Alabama 147.375

LSU was chugging along but gave the rotation score away on those last two beam routines. Still comfortable lead, as Alabama got through floor but was kind of meh throughout the beginning.

After 2: Utah 98.700, Oregon State 98.200

Ernst – BB – strong loso series, good control – switch to sheep with a check, some hip angle in the sheep as well – aerial, hit – 2/1, crossed leg stick. Good set.

Stover – BB – Utah – aerial to bhs, slowish in combination but will get it – good full turn – beat to split ring jump – kickover front, large break with bend at the hips – switch to straddle, quite clean – sticks gainer full

Desch – BB – Alabama – aerial to beat jump, pretends her wobble is a connection movement, pretty well actually – good loso series – switch to split – 2 bhs to 1.5, hop back.

MMG – BB – Utah – switch to split, good – bhs bhs loso, clean and hit – aerial, small lean correction – full turn – 2/1, slide back –

Harrold – FX – LSU – front 2/1, crossover step but hit – 1.5, missed her foot and sits the front tuck at the end. Sigh. Our Ruby.

Armbrecht – BB – Alabama – aerial to beat jump, pretty quality – lean check on loso series – split jump to sheep, a little bounce – 1.5, small step to the side

I’m very into the SEC Network Sheep Jump Slomo Cam.

Edwards – FX – LSU -front 2/1, good this time, step but not large – double tuck, a little uncertain on landing but fine – OK-ish straddle position but indistinct – front full front full, good shape but clear lunge out

Burch has been added to beam for Utah instead of McNatt

Klopfer – BB – Alabama – wolf turn with a slowing check but held it – side aerial – hit, came in a little tentative on a few skills but got through, large check on sheep jump landing.

Finnegan – FX – 1/5 through to 2.5, controls step out of it – double tuck, quite nice – switch ring and switch 1/2, obviously great – double pike, just a touch forward, but very strong set.

Winston – BB – aerial with a check – bhs lay-pike, holds it – full turn, smooth – double tuck, excellent, small slide

Hambrick – FX – sticks her DLO, usual form but perfect landing – 2.5 to front tuck, I love the pop she gets into that 2.5, even though it always looks scary/awkward – good height on leap elements but a little uncontrolled on landing – double pike, nailed. Great landings.

Reinstadtler – BB – Utah – smallest correction on loso series – just a little too tight in places – switch to straddle 1/4, great extension – sticks gainer full.

Guerrero – BB – Alabama – bhs loso loso, excellent – switch to straddle – side aerial very strong – 1.5, near stick, just a slide to the side.

Denver CANNOT hit bars. Counting a fall again.

Cannamela – FX – filling in for Edney – double pike bounce back – 1.5 to layout, solid – OK leaps – double tuck, short with a lunge forward – 9.875. LOLZ. This is why you use the final spot on floor wisely, because they will give you scores.

Skinner – BB – Utah – small correction on loso series and knees – side aerial to sissone, solid – L turn to full turn – secure on leap to back tuck series – double tuck with step forward.

FINAL: LSU 197.450, Alabama 196.725

Alabama still looking for that 197, but it was the landings on vault that took it away this time. LSU nearly hitting that 197.550 overall high for the season, but it was also the landings on vault (as well as that end of the beam lineup) that took it away in an otherwise strong (for January, but strong) performance.

Remme – UB – Boise State – Piked jaeger, close catch – bail, hit vertical, some loose back – hits final hs – DLO, nearly holds stick, just a step back in salute

Sundstrom – BB – Denver – switch to switch 1/2, lovely extension, check – side aerial, another small check – bhs loso series, slow but extended and secure – gaienr pike, stuck

McGregor – UB – Boise State – toe on – Shap, very good – a short hs at the end – gets a little close to the bar on that FTDT dismount, small step.

Karr – BB – Denver – side aerial to bhs series, just a little check at the end but well executed throughout – hitch kick to side aerial/side somi of indeterminant aspect – beat jump to split jump full, has to slide around the split jump a little upon landing – 1.5 stuck

Singley – BB – Oregon State – split jump double stag, secure – bhs loso, good toe point, confident – front, strong

Nilson – UB – Boise State – hit tkatchev – bail, good vertical – short handstand – sticks DLO

Schou – BB – aerial to bhs loso, good security, mostly extended – beat jump to sheep, legs apart on sheep but secure – step back gainer full

Lewis – FX – Utah – bounce back on double pike – finishes double tuck with a little stronger control. Did she really get a 9.925 for that bounce back?

MyKayla Skinner, you already have a 10.

Davis – BB – Oregon State aerial with a check, some knees – another larger wobble on loso series –

Roberts – FX – Utah – double pike, ankle cruncher, short with a lunge forward – switch side to wolf full, under rotated on wolf full – 1.5 to half to double stag, some piking in the half.

Reinstadtler – FX – Utah – double tuck, bounce back – switch ring and split leap full, nice dance elements – 1.5 to layout, dance out – double pike, good control

Yanish – BB – Oregon State – loso series, small lean – switch to loso, good security but slow in combination – split jump to straddle 3/4, check – front walkoverhandspring, check – gainer full, stuck.

Soloski – FX – DLO, good chest up – split jump full, not quite all the way 180 – 2/1, bouncy – 1.5 to layout, knees but controlled

Gill – BB – Oregon State – full turn – split jump to double stag, great position on split jump, a little wonky stag landing – aerial to bhs, smooth – switch 1/2 beat – gainer full

Sundstrom – FX – Denver – double tuck, stumble backward and OOB –

MMG – FX – piked full in, good control, chest down – switch ring to split leap full – 1.5 to front layout to front pike, bouncy – rudi to straddle jump, hilarious travel backward but kept it to her feet

Dessaints – BB – lean correction on loso series – switch to stag ring – kickover front to beat, well connected – sticks gainer full. Some knees, early lean, good set.

Skinner – FX – L hop full – double double bounce back this time (small) – split leap 1.5, gets it around – 1.5 through to double, WHAT, missed a hand or collapsed on her 1.5 step out but continued through with some tucked back handsprings and pulled out the double full somehow – hops forward on the front tuck again – full-in, solid. 9.875.

My favorite is the judge who went 9.950. What…is…you?

“That is…….something.” – Sam Peszek on the second pass

FINAL: Utah 197.450, Oregon State 196.300

  1. Question, does anyone have links for SEC network live streams? For Florida vs Kentucky?

    1. Also interesting that Florida went with an all blue leo at Kentucky. Kentucky is known as “big blue nation.”

  2. Is Georgia competing yet? I’m seeing a Coliseum that has no teams even introduced yet. SEC usually starts right on time.

  3. Wow can’t watch the Florida v Kentucky meet but reading the descriptions vs the scores, the bar judges seem quite tough!

  4. Are coaches allowed to touch the bar during a bars routine? The KY coach had his hand on the low bar during Rechenmacher’s routine. He was holding it during her transition from high to low.

  5. Not sure how judge 2 gave Vaculik a 9.6 on bars. That seems crazy low for that routine.

  6. I feel so bad for Alaina Kwan. I remember reading somewhere that she picked Kentucky over other top SEC schools because she wanted a chance to actually make lineups, but she hasn’t ever gotten above a 9.7 in competition. She’s fallen on bars every time this year. They need to take her out of the lineup, huge bummer for her, but it’s what’s best for the team.

  7. Did anyone watch the Bowling Green meet earlier? Jovannah East is on their lineup last for floor on their Twitter but no score for her. Guessing it was the last score, so either not recorded or she didn’t go?

  8. So… I’ll admit, i think Jenny Rowland is a little crazy. Not sure what it is, but she just seems unstable to me. BUT, her pants are amazing tonight!!!

  9. IT FEELS SO WEIRD TO WATCH THIS COMPETITION AFTER ALL THE NASSAR TESTIMONIES TODAY. Like, Alicia SAcramone, Amelia Hundley, Rachel Gowey, Alyssa Baumann– almost definitely also abused 🙁 🙁 🙁 alkdfkjlafdljkdfjk;a

    1. Please don’t assume anyone was sexually abused and especially using athlete names. If they were, it’s their story to tell and no one should assume anything.

  10. Anyone else watching the MD/PSU meet thinking Terps being wayyyyyy over-scored on beam?

  11. Cerio and Day for Auburn and Dickson and Vega for Georgia are some of the most under appreciated gymnasts in the country. You never see people talking them, but they have gorgeous gymnastics and compete with so much confidence.

Also, Oakley has some of the best form in NCAA. She reminds me of a Gage gymnast.

    1. Agreed! Sabrina Vega is breathtaking to watch and shows so much competitive maturity for a sophomore. She obviously has tons of elite experience, but NCAA is a different animal

  12. The wolf turn invasion of NCAA is not a positive development. They can go away any time now.

  13. I’m surprised to see Loeb remaining in Alabama’s bars lineup. It seems unlikely that the team doesn’t have stronger bar routines without so many built-in deductions.

  14. Does anybody have an update on Lexi Graber’s injury from last week? She isn’t listed on Alabama’s vault lineup um Twitter…

  15. LSU bars scoring is a bit nuts. I bet Florida, Kentucky, Georgia, and Auburn are wishing they had these judges!

  16. LSU looks better than Alabama but thejudges (primarily bars) did not score the teams the same. No way Harrold or Durante should have been 9.9

  17. I read an article earlier this week that said LSU has only won a game/meet over Bama once this year . . . across ALL sports. The fans want this win not just for gymnastics, but for the school.

  18. I think the bars scores were funny. All of the LSU routines were higher than the Alabama

  19. What are the all of the injuries on Alabama’s team? They don’t even look close to being a Super Six team at the moment. Long season, but they have a long way to go.

      1. She’s just not prepared, and has been plagued by injuries for 2 years now. I’m sure that not even cracking an 8.5 on Beam in their first meet didn’t help her. I feel really bad for Bailie because she seems to be in the best shape at the wrong times. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Alabama gets bumped out of the Super Six by Michigan or even Georgia. Georgia at least has been getting better and better with each meet while Alabama looks like they’re just trying their best to not die with a long road still ahead.

      2. So do you predict a total sit-out year for Bailie? I’m getting Mattie Larson UCLA vibes from her, i.e. little-to-no action this season and then a slow fade away from the sport.

  20. I like Bart but I would be really happy to never hear the phrase “Here’s a young lady who…” ever again.

  21. Given those Alabama floor scores, expect LSU scores on floor to go through the roof. Scoring is loose on that event.

  22. What is up with the lack of Bailie Key in these line-ups? Is she injured, or just struggling with the transition to college and not showing the potential in practice?

  23. Sarah Edwards reminds me of Sydney Ewing. From being a walk on to the front double full to the 1.5 on vault. I’m excited to see what she does over the next 4 years!!

    1. I had the exact same thought especially remembering she’s a walk-on. It says a lot about the quality of the program that they are able to develop just about any gymnast.

  24. Can Maddie Desch not do a front double twist anymore? She always seems to struggle rotating that double arabian.

  25. A little surprised by Florida. I mean they’ve been managing well but I thought they were going to dominate beginning to end, but haven’t been up to par with UCLA, LSU, Oklahoma or Utah. Once McMurtry is back in AA and they figure out where to put their freshmen their numbers will climb up/surpass those four teams, but I was expecting a stronger start.

  26. I’m in Canada and new to watching NCAA. I’m
Now finding the YouTube Yaratska feeds being taken down for copyright within hours :(. Is that the same for everyone else? Any suggestions? They worked for the first weeks and I got hooked!

  27. Alabama got hosed on bars. The judges did not score both teams the same and Alabama got the short end of the stick. Beams scores were also tight. It is home field advantage I guess
