Georgia and Arkansas will get going a little before Florida and Oklahoma.

Yamzon – VT – Ark – nice distance on her full, a bounce back, not the most height we’ll see but solid dynamics.

Johnson – UB – UGA – nice first hs – clear hip to usual legs on Gienger – short hs, fine bail – she’s working on those handstands – DLO, overflips and has to lunge back. The dismount is usually the strength but not this time.

Foberg – VT – FL – very strong full – hop in place – nice height and shape

Jackson – UB – OU – piked Jaeger, solid – bail, good legs, a bit short – hitting handstands – full out, small hop. Solid.

Fall from Pedersen in the second spot on bars for Georgia.

Alexander – VT – FL – her usual excellent distance and power, bounce back but not a HUGE bounce back as it has been sometimes.

Foberg got 9.875 for a non-stuck full, so that’s where we are with the scores today.

Webb – UB – OU – clean Pak, strong hs – GREAT legs on Shap 1/2 – one or two short verticals later in the routine, sticks double front. Strong showing.

Hop back for McGlone on vault for Ark.

Boren – VT – FL – 1.5 – good height on her vault, didn’t get her landing the way she wanted, looked to pop up a little more rather than out, bends knees at the end and then a hop to the side.

Catour – OU – UB – Strong Ray, great catch position – clean bail, good vertical – muscles up final handstand with a small arch – DLO, stuck. Great except for final handstand.

Baker – VT – FL – came in shrot on her 1.5, larger lunge back to save it – looked like she was coming on  slightly sideways –

Vaculik – UB – UGA – excellent Vaculik Gienger but really struggling on a couple handstands – step back FTDT.

Dowell – OU – UB – awesome tkatchev – shortish handstand after that – solid bail – a second short HD – tries to hold stick on DLO, just comes in a hair short of what she wanted.

Pretty full from Braie Speed. Small slide back.

Slocum – FL – VT – handspring pike 1/2, good dynamics, slide back on landing, which will probably be a one-tenth slide.

Snead – Nice handstands and toe point, flatter tkatchev, working through some handstands, a little arch – DLO, slide back.

Lehrmann – OU – UB – gorgeous toes on Jaeger and bail – fantastic lines – one short cast – FTDT, looks like she just misses holding onto the stick, small slide.

McMurtry – VT – FL – DTY! – Pretty excellent, just has to lose her shape a hair at the end, and then a small slide back. Can still go 9.950, maybe 9.900. 10.000? Didn’t she…not stick? Guys? ….GUYS?

Nichols – OU – UB – Big Church, fab Pak – Excellent Shap 1/2, strong leg shape – nails DLO. Fab. 9.950.

If there was a 10 in that rotation…it was Nichols…?

After 1: Oklahoma 49.500 to Florida 49.475

Good bars rotation for Oklahoma, just a couple handstands to clean up, a couple near sticks. Florida OK on vault, but didn’t get the landings they would have wanted with the 3,4,5 vaulters all having minimum .1 landing deductions. I mean, McMurtry had a landing deduction too, but apparently that doesn’t count when you do a DTY anymore? What? The more I saw replays of that vault, the more it was definitely 9.900.

After 1: Georgia 49.175, Arkansas 49.100

Scores also a little soft on bars in this one, but Georgia avoided counting that fall, so mission accomplished.

Yamzon – UB – Ark – shrot first hs – tkatchev, flat but hit – bail – shortish borderline final handstand – DLO 1/1 and basically sticks it, will probably get the stick, some body position in the air still though.

Oakley – VT – UGA – bounce back on full, a little flatter off the table, small pike.

Shaffer – IB – solid Shap to bail combo, legs together throughout – some late 1/2 turns on high – double tuck with a hop back –

Dickson – VT – UGA – controls her landing, but has to bend and pike to get it because of coming in a bit short, which will hurt the score.

Showers – VT – OU – OK full, lunge back, didn’t get the full amplitude she wanted but enough to get it around.

Boren – UB – FL – hits Tkatchev – clear hip to bail, hits vertical – DLO with small slide forward

Lehrmann – VT _ OU – small slide back on full, good shape

Baker – UB – FL – Strong Ray – leg break on bail but hits her vertical – solid verticals until the 1/2, realllly has to cowboy her double front this time, kind of a large bounce forward

Dowell – VT – OU – didn’t stick this time, at the meet when she could have received a 10 – off to the side a little this time, hop forward.

Foberg – UB – FL – toe on to Pak, clean – Shap to Gienger, keeping legs together well – short final vertical – FTDT with step back. A couple things, but good routine.

Webb – VT – OU – Omelianchik, pretty good, small hop forward and loses her pike shape at the end with a knee bend.

Hundley – UB – FL – Good toe Shap to Pak, nice height – Toe shap 1/2, fingeertips and loses her leg shape – FTDT, good stick. A couple handstands and the legs on the Shap 1/2

Fall from Garner for Ark on bars, final routine had five hits before that.

Jackson – VT – OU – off to the side on her 1.5 as well, hop forward, usual strong power dynamics

Gowey – UB – FL – Strong Ray – hitting early handstands – clean Pak, not as big as Hundley’s but great body position – short final handstand – DLO with a large bounce back, the only weak part of the set.

Nichols – VT – OU – STICKS her 1.5. Very nice. Good control on her landing, maybe some knees at the end, but strong even in replay.

McMurtry – UB – FL – Ray, good height, elbows on catch – strong bail shape – short final handstand, the others were fine – FTDT, short with a bound forward.

Nichols 9.975 for that vault. I would like someone to explain to me how that vault was weaker than McMurtry’s.

After 2: Oklahoma 99.000, Florida 98.900

Big scores flying. Most of Oklahoma’s vault rotation was not as strong as they would like, similar to Florida’s, with some .1 lunges and not the best direction or amplitude, not quite what they can do. And then Nichols was excellent. Florida good on bars, some fewer missed handstands than in the last couple meets, though the landings weren’t there and could have been evaluated more strictly.

After 2: Arkansas 98.275, Georgia 98.050

Georgia counts a bunch of 9.7s on vault to fall behind Arkansas after 2 rotations. Both teams received the same bars score (and the same charitable bars scoring), but it’s the quality of the vaults making the difference, where Arkansas had cleaner shapes and better landings.

Arnold – FX – UGA – Note this hospital of injuries behind her as she prepares for first pass – comes in short on double pike but holds the landing well to avoid a larger deduction – double tuck, keeps front foot down – switch ring and splits are OK but a little tight – Suzanne’s top is an ode to Ferrari’s leos – 1.5 to layout, flattish whippy layout.

Laird – BB – Ark – aerial to bhs series – switch to split 1/4, not there on her 180s – side aerial with a check – full turn, tentative – gainer full

Hundley – BB – FL – aerial to sissone, leans and pulls out the combination so they’ll probably give it – bhs loso, good extension, better this time, controlled – cat leap to switch side, secure – full turn – 1.5, near stick.

Babalis small slide back on double pike

Showers – FX _ OU – double pike, good height, bounce back – front full to layout, good shape but a stutter step on landing to keep it in bounds – switch ring and ferrari – 1/2 to front full, not huge but strong control this time

Skaggs – BB – FL – wolf double, hits it – switch to split, good split positions – loso series, strong – good leg form throughout – cast leap switch side, secure – side aerial to stuck full. Nice. Her best set of the season.

Dowell – FX – OU – double front, does exceptionally to keep in in bounds but does hop forward a little – looked like she was going to go OOB through the whole pass – 1.5 to layout – nice ups in those leaps – front layout to front full, controlled step out but sort of adjusts that back foot.

Boren – BB – FL – kickover front, secure – bhs loso, good height, not the most open hips but good – hitting leaps – cat leap to loso, strong – full turn with an arm wave adjustment – gainer full with a crossover step and then another correction step. Weird mistake after nice routine

Webb – FX – OU – front 2/1, controlled. “Slinkety.” Are you me? 1.5 to front full, just does keep that back leg down – split leap full and split jump full, feet and also a little back leg – rudi, a little bounce up and down

Good save from Carter of Ark on her side aerial full dismount. Stuck it despite kind fo missing her foot. But also she got a 9.975? Where am I?

Gowey – BB – FL – fantastic switch and split combo – bhs loso loso, legs got floppy at the end since she was off line but pulled it back without a wobble well, aerial to sissone, super clean – full turn – gainer full, small slide together –

Vega – FX – UGA – great double pike – hits middle pass – switch ring and split leap full, good positions – a little under on split leap 1.5, but pretty close – Tyra-style “ugly, pretty” face to camera –

Schoepfer – OU – FX – in place of Degouveia, bounce back on double pike – 1.5 to layout, missed her punch on the layout and had to arch it intensely, just got it around – switch ring to wolf jump full, not quite around – double pike, small slide back.

Baumann – BB – FL – “Alicia Baumann” – onodi to bhs, quite slow in combination- switch to switch 1/2, pretty switch – aerial to sissone, excellent – 1.5, pretends to hold the stick into her salute. Very pretty. 9.975. K.

Nichols – FX – OU – good double tuck, maybe a little slide – front full to front layout stepout, not tired of it yet – switch ring to split leap 1/1, good toes and extension, gets it around well – double pike, keeps the front leg down on the step back this time. Nice.

After 3: Arkansas 147.700, Georgia 147.150

Arkansas pulls way out in front after that EVERYONE GETS A 9.950 beam rotation.

McMurtry – BB – FL – kickover front, solid – loso series, secure – switch to shush hip circle, not the most extended on the switch – 2/1, good height and stuck. 10.000. For like, a routine that’s identical to all her other beam routines. Very secure set. I wasn’t happy with the switch, and I’d like to see more extension in the hips on her loso series, which is why I sometimes question the big scores she gets on this piece.

And a 9.975 for Nichols. I would actually be fine with a not-10 for that one, but one judge went there.

Jackson – OU – FX – huge open FTDT but bounces back and OOB, OU needed the big score here to keep pace with Florida – stagger step on double pike, awkward landing, not one of her better sets.

Okaley – BB – UGA – wolf turn, hit – high switch leap but a check afterward, back leg weird too – better on the split jump to split ring jump – secure loso series – cat leap to aerial, large break at the hips – gainer full slide. Probably 9.975.

Garner – FX – Ark – double pike, pulls in a little too much but fine – somewhat bouncy on leap landing – a little low on middle pass but just a small step out of front full –

Arnold – BB – UGA – switch to tuck jump 3/4, large break, does everything except touch the beam with a large bceck –  – aerial to bhs series, secure – switch to straddle 1/4, a little slow – 1.5, hop back.

Catour – BB  – OU – “Coach Kindler really likes to have seniors lead off” – remember when Keeley Kmieciak led off all four years? No? – Good loso series – cat leap to switch side, fine, a little tight – cat leap to aerial, confident – gainer tuck full dismount, stuck.

Slocum – FX – FL – whip through to double pike, pretty big bounce back – good height on leaps and hits positions, just a little bouncy – front full to front pike – rudi, hit – a little flat on final two passes but secure

Showers – BB – OU – bhs loso sereis, very smooth and extended – switch to straight jump full but couldn’t connect into Korbut this time with a couple steps backward to stay on the beam – hits kickover front – sticks gainer full. Still 9.900. LOLLLL. Also, have I mentioned LOLLLLLLLLLLL.

Skaggs – FX – FL – 1.5 through to double tuck, excellent, good form and controlled landing – back 1.5 to layout, secure. very well extended leaps too, this is quite nice – double pike, a little short but controls the landing.

The scoring is obviously bonkers, but I’ve also been really impressed by Skaggs today.

Woodard – OU – BB – full turn – kickover front to bhs, pretty legs – switch to split to beat jump, she is loverly – side aerial to full, stuck, great.

Foberg – FL – FX – full in, slide back – front full to front tuck, basically completely missed her feet and somehow pulled out a front tuck! Really should have been a fall, good save, but a large mistake – double tuck, short landing with lunge forward. Not her best.

9.825. MY GOD. She had like 15 mistakes.

Lehrmann – OU – BB – full turn, smooth – aerial, nice – switch side, secure – nails loso series – switch to Korbut – having no trouble at all with this – so obvious 15 – gainer full, stuck. And that gets 9.900? That was actually deserving of a huge, huge score, and the judges are like…mmmm same.

Boren – FL – FX – DLO comes in short with a lunge. Back 1.5 to layout is quite nice, good straight shape throughout, amplitude, secure, excellent. split leap 1/1 to wolf jump 1/1 – Double tuck, solid

197.175 for Arkansas. This Florida/OU meet isn’t the only crack in town.

Webb – BB – OU – full turn – bhs loso, smooth, nicely done – cat leap to aerial, hit – YOU HIT TWO SKILLS AUTOMATIC 10. switch to split – off to the side a little on dismount but another hit.

Baker – FL – FX – Dos Santos, good, controls her step forward, she can land it better than that, but that was a solid one. Double tuck, super high and easy, nailed it. switch to split leap 1/1, a little off of 180 – 1/5 to half to straddle. Good one. 9.975.

Nichols – BB – OU – aerial to split, strong – loso series, secure, excellent – switch split to split – full turn – almost holds the stick on the 1.5, small step to the slide.

Baumann – FX – FL – Double tuck, solid – 1.5 to front full, a little loose in the knees in the front full – She needs 9.925 to win. I WONDER WHAT SCORE SHE’LL GET – double pike, short with a lunge forward.

reinstadtler – FX – Utah – clean double tuck, good control – 1.5 to layout, controlled, lost her knees slightly in 1.5 – strong double pike as well. Pretty set.

Cowles – BB – Ariz – aerial to split, pretty aerial, a little short on split – hits loso with a check, it looked totally on but she was tentative on her wrapped leg and had to adjust a little – check in between her dance series – gainer front full with hop forward. AZ struggling on beam.

Graber – UB – AL – Big Gienger but leg break – nice toe point throughout – sticks FTDT –

Soloski – FX – Utah – DLO, good – split leap 1/1 – 2/1, hit – 1.5 to front layout, very controlled and secure set.

Amanda is complaining that these scores are too tight. Too soon, girl. Too soon. Also, no.

Dickson for Alabama hits her big tkatchev – FTDT with a hop back.

Tucker on vault for Missouri – hop back on a full – normal.

Winston – UB – AL – Shap  – short handstand on high bar – lovely Pak as always – another short hs – Perfect stuck DLO. Skills were awesome, just the handstands.

MMG – FX – Utah – secure landing on piked full in, chest down but not too chesty downy this time – 1.5 to layout to pike, strong – rudi to straddle, good control on that straddle this time

Brannan – UB – AL – Hits Jaeger – a little crooked in bail but pulled it together – short handstand – DLO with hop. They’re struggling on the handstands today.

Cindric – BB – AZ – Nice loso series – pretty side aerial in the air but checks working out of it – split jump to double stag, very secure – gainer pike, stuck. Much better than the rest of the lineup.

Skinner – FX – Utah – L hop full – double double, pretty strong but slide back on the landing this time – split leap 1.5 – 1.5 through to 2/1, didn’t die this time – front tuck, better landing on this one – full-in, shortish on the landing with a lean forward. A couple .05 landings this time, but 9.900 seems reasonable to me.

Kentucky has a .125 lead on Auburn at halfway. Alabama has .425 over Missouri but is on low 196 pace, which they won’t be happy with. Utah well ahead of Arizona and on pace for a mid-197.

Ernst – BB – Alabama – full turn, a little mushy – hits loso series securely – switch to split to sheep – fall – “And that does happen” – Bridget Sloan. 2/1, very short with a bound forward

Stumble back and OOB from Bower on a double pike for Missouri.

Klopfer – BB – Alabama – wolf turn, smooth – split and sheep, secure – cat leap to side aerial with small lean – bhs loso series, fall – way off line throughout. Two falls in two for Alabama. Dear. Side aerial to full dismount with small slide.

Stover – BB – Utah – aerial to bhs, smooth enough that she’ll get the series – full turn, hit – beat jump to split ring jump – kickover front, secure – switch to straddle, nailed – sticks gainer full. BY FAR her best beam routine of the season.

Armbrecht – BB – Alabama – aerial to beat jump, pretty as always – bhs loso series, hits it – split to beat to sheep, well executed pieces, small check at the end on the sheep – 1.5 hop forward.

MMG – BB – Utah – switch to split, hitting 180 – bhs bhs loso, hit – aerial to beat, not the fastest but smooth – full turn – 2/1 and holds the stick. Good set.

Berg – FX – Ariz – double pike, collapses slightly in the knees with a slide back – front 1/1 to front pike, hit, a little mushy in the full – rudi to split, a little short.

Graber – BB – AL – bhs lay-pike, very solid – kickover front to scale, comfortable and smooth without hesitation in the connection –  2/1 bounce back

Burch – BB – Utah – full turn – secure loso series, better legs this time – cat leap to aerial to beat, comfortable – switch to straddle – 1.5 and leans to hold onto the stick, basically dismounted INTO Baely Rowe. Like, girl, back up? Nice set. Much better than what we’ve seen from her before.

Winston – BB – AL – split to straddle 1/2, gorgeous and perfect – aerial to bhs, quick enough and very well executed – full turn – double tuck stuck! Awesome routine. So pretty.

Lee – BB – Utah – full turn – loso, well hit – beat to side aerial, not my favorite combo but secure and well done – a little tight on switch into straddle 1/4 – 2/1, stuck. Good. 9.925 is a little scoring the rotation order there.

Guerrero – BB – AL – bhs loso loso, solid as usual – switch to straddle, no trouble – full turn – 1.5 with a hop forward. At least they ended with four good ones.

Reinstadtler – BB – aerial to split jump, a little check in between the two – loso series, controlled and extended – large break on the full turn, bend at the hips and a swim – switch to straddle 1/4, well done – gainer full, stuck.

Mattson – FX – Arizona – double pike, good amplitude, slide back – 1.5 to layout, controlled – double tuck, solid. Good set.

Skinner – BB – bhs loso series, secure – side aerial to sissone, a little pause in between but hit both elements – larger break on L turn, bend at the hips and lean to the side – switch to straddle to back tuck, nailed – double tuck, step back.

Schneider – FX – Arizona – double pike, very well controlled, dropped into it, well done – front layout, front full – switch side popa, solid and extended – double tuck, very strong. One of her best floor routines.

Utah goes 197.550, Arizona will be over 196, waiting on the final score from Schneider.

Sheppard – FX – Auburn – finishes 2/1 to punch front, VERY Chinese 3/1, but secure – apparently she fell earlier in the routine.

Poland – BB – Kentucky – bhs bhs loso, secure – full turn – one-arm fhs – switch leap to double stag, this is quite a secure one for her – gainer pike, stuck.

Becker – FX – Auburn – double tuck, controlled well – good height on leaps – hits double pike, shortish – finishes 1.5 to front tuck, very open front tuck, wonder if she wanted to make it a layout.

Guerra – FX – double back first pass, bounces back and OOB – 1.5 to layout is solid to end.

Kwan – BB – Kentucky – check on full turn – hits loso series, small check – switch to double stag, hit – cat leap side aerial tuck full dismount series, stuck but legs well apart.

Cerio – FX – Auburn – double pike, step back – front full front lay to wolf – rudi a little under rotated.

Loeb – FX – Alabama – exploring depth – hit double tuck but chest down – OOB on second pass – 1.5 to layout, arches it around with a lunge forward out of it.

Dukes – BB – Kentucky – very solid loso series – aerial, very short and falls. Weird. Counting the 9.7 from Korth now.

Missouri struggling on beam – a 9.5, then a fall, and now a check on a full turn from Albritten.

Watson – FX – Auburn – fine double pike, solid, a little chest – quite short on double tuck, chest down and a hop forward – 1.5 to front tuck, couldn’t punch into front tuck and lands extremely low, just avoids sitting it but a major deduction.

Desch – FX – throws out the double Arabian, gets it around somehow with a bounce forward – 1.5 to 1/2 to split to front tuck, well done – good double back final pass.

Hyland – BB – switch to split, well done, so pretty – cat leap to aerial to bhs loso, small pause in between the aerial to bhs (doesn’t matter), but a check after the loso this time – side aerial to stuck full, good one.

Milliet – FX – front lay to rudi, such excellent position in the front layout, how it should look – switch ring to switch 1/2 – double pike, a little deep with step backward. 1.5 to layout with some legs.

Armbrecht – FX – double pike, solid – 1.5 to layout, good – rudi to double stag, came in short but worked it into the connection. 9.950? Sure? Why not at this point?

It’s 196.700 for Kentucky. Auburn 196.250, even with counting a 9.400 on floor
