    1. I challenge that finnegan’s full is the best in NCAA- and scores lower due to lineup placement…

  1. Ohashi was not way a 10 on floor. Major “concentration pauses”, extra jump on pass; jumped back instead of straight up (but that is usual) off balance on the final pass. Even she looked a bit bored with the routine this time. Should have been a 9.875 max. She was also off balance on beam dismount and a long pause in connection. Oh to be a UCLA gymnast. Gifts like Christmas every day.

    1. You can do this level of nitpicking on every routine on this list and being the scores down. But this is not the COP we’re under. Stop pretending like every other routine here also has similar “deductions.”

      1. Yes it really is not just UCLA. They probably get more undeserved 10s than any other team, but I don’t think the magnitude of their overscoring is any worse than that of OU or Florida.

  2. Love how Jen Kesler has really taken the Lindenwood gymnastics program to new records. A Division 3 team scoring 48.875 on BEAM of all places is simply amazing! Mitchel scoring a well deserved 9.900 is testament to the great work ethic of the entire team. Reminds me of Bridgeport placing in the top 36 a few seasons ago with Monica Messales leading the team. Congrats to their entire program for the level of difficulty that they consistently perform each week given that they are a Division 3 school.

    1. I love that 3/4 lindenwood’s coaching staff are Oregon State gymnastics alum🖤🧡

  3. continued from week 5…
Wow! All this uproar over Kyla’s bars…No of course I’m not mad at her. She can do any high scoring safe routine she wants…but I still think it’s boring and it’s obviously NOT hard… (at least for her) which is why she chooses to do it. (And do you truly think a Sapash, bail and toe shoot is hard for any of these athletes?) But really…would you want to see that routine composition more than once in a line up? Not me…I NEED a Trinity or an Amelia or a Brenna routine to elevate the artistic component as a spectator. And she’s not just someone who “was in the Olympics” six years ago… She’s Kyla freaking Ross…youngest 2012 Olympian and World ALL AROUND Silver and Bronze medalist in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
I am as disappointed in her throwing that bar routine as I am when an Olympian throws a LOSO as a floor pass in an Olympic “TOUR” routine. I want to be entertained. I wanna see your best stuff. That’s why I respect Brenna and McKayla and others in their contributions to the ever increasing quality of NCAA gymnastics! I just wanna see ALL that awesomeness that Kyla and the other Olympians and elites have to bring! I mean they only have a few more years to even DO competitive gymnastics…why be boring when you can & should, BRING IT! IMHO!
