  2. Is Alyona attempting a pak to jaeger? Cause that would be a cool combo. What would be the bonus for that in elite?

    1. She is not. First off you can’t do a pak to jaeger because a pak is a high to low skill and as of yet no one’s attempted jaeger on the low bar in competition. Assuming you meant shap to jaeger, if you watch her routine from the previous week’s meet she did the shap, countered on the catch, then swung forward into a Tkatchev. Presumably that’s her intended composition.

  4. I think the Hawthorne 10 was ridiculous but not really worse than half of them. That said- I wish NCAA would come up with the scoring equivalent of the honorary Oscar or lifetime achievement award and give Houchin a frickin 10 of some order. She puts Nichols, edney and most of the more rewarded gymnasts to shame in terms of utter lack of deductions.

    And Bama looks to have the makings of a beautiful beam team.
