I’ll be adding the results into the NQS tracker as we get final scores so we can keep track of who has qualified and who is out and what the regional placements look like as things shift throughout the day. I’ve now color-coded which teams go to regionals together (unless there are hosting conflicts—which there won’t be unless Oklahoma drops to 2 and Auburn drops to 7) for easy reference.
In the first batch, we have the opening session from Big Tens, where Illinois, Maryland, and Iowa are safe, Nebraska and Rutgers are out, and Penn State is trying to stay alive with anything 195.925 or above. Illinois and Maryland are also jockeying for seeded places, but they are pretty dependent on other teams for that.
In the remaining batch of first sessions, the big focus is on UCLA’s score, as UCLA could still end up in any of the four regionals, and that will be major news whichever one it ends up being because UCLA has gone 198 this season. At the same time as those first sessions, the behemoth 7-team MAC Championship will also run, which is the most significant of all for regional qualification purposes with Western Michigan, Kent State, and Central Michigan all in action. After that competition, we’ll know if things are still live heading into competition for San Jose, West Virginia, and North Carolina later in the day, and we’ll have a better sense of what those teams need if it is.

With those results, Iowa moves into 22nd place for the moment. Illinois and Maryland stay put. Nebraska moves ahead of Penn State and into 37th place, but 37th place won’t do it.
We have a bit of time before Pac-12s now, with the last-minute news being that they are doing apparatus streams as well at pac-12.com/gymchamps. Thanks for the warning? It’s much better than the typical format of one-at-a-time, which just takes too long, especially for the team on vault, having to wait like 5 minutes between vaults.
So, Western Michigan went 49.300 on beam, Kent State went 49.150 on floor, and Central Michigan has started with 9.875 on bars. So it looks like it’s going to be a soaring score fest. But Kent State needs a biggggg number today, and floor is their highest scoring event, so 49.150 may not do it.
So so so. Now that we allegedly have apparatus feeds for Pac-12s, I’m going to change plans a little bit and watch the TV feed of SECs while making sure to keep track of UCLA’s progress on the apparatus feeds since UCLA’s result is the most important today for deciding regionals placements (and because, let’s be real, if I’ve learned anything from the viewership numbers of this website over the decade, you people want all UCLA, all the time).
Meanwhile, 49.175 on bars for CMU is medium-helpful, staying on track to remain in contention but not a break-the-bank number.

San Jose State is done on 196.425. They didn’t end up needing a score today, but that would have done it anyway.

Smith – BB – OU – bhs loso, splits the beam and falls, but they had a 49.475 before that – another bend at the hips after her aerial – straddle 1/2, another large break, breaks connection into Korbut – sticks gainer full.
Thompson on floor for Denver ends with a front lay to rudi, good control – 9.850
Hutchinson – FX – Denver – front 2/1, easily completed, little bounce forward – 1.5 to layout, controlled – switch 1/2 to split leap full – rudi to straddle jump, good straddle position.
Hutchinson gets 9.925 so Denver will be in 2nd place on 49.225 after floor. Denver needs at very minimum 196.850 today to have a shot at a regionals seeding, so that’s above the necessary pace, just barely.

Woodard – FX – OU – punch front 2/1, slide forward – whip 1/2 to front full, well controlled – switch side to split jump full, good positions – front full to layout, legs together well. Nice one. 9.900

Denver on 48.975 on vault, which takes them off the scoring pace for now, so bars will have to bring it back well over 49.
Bowers – FX – OU – pretty double pike, controlled landing – front 2/1 to front tuck, pulls it around, not the highest punch but fine – clear leap 180s. 9.950
West Virginia went 49.200 on bars, getting close to Denver there.
Smith – FX – OU – double tuck, bounce back – 1.5 to front lay, nice and floaty – switch side and wolf full, good – double pike, strong. 9.950
Looks like George Washington is going to win EAGLs with 196.325
Sievers – FX – OU – lands her FTDT under control – front tuck through to double tuck, gets a little low but pulls it out – switch side to wolf full to popa – some slightly ragged moments but solid.
Oklahoma is on 99.075 after two, so watch out for that. 49.600 on floor. OK.

Hudson finishes floor for Alabama with a bounce back on double tuck. That event is behind because they had a long scoring delay for Machado’s 9.075

For me that wouldn’t be a counter (we’ll see…) so that would mean Florida finishes on 198.200, exactly the same as Michigan and Oklahoma.
Under the radar result there for Arizona State as they did just enough to move to 16th. Oregon State moves ahead of UCLA. Alabama moves ahead of both LSU and Auburn.
