Not a ton of ranking implications for these two meets since Oklahoma is set at #1, Cal is set at #3, and Arkansas is set at #12 in Monday’s rankings regardless of what they do here. Stanford is currently sitting in 27th and could jump up to 25th ahead of Washington and Clemson with a season high today.
In other action, Denver’s 197.625 at Missouri will see Denver jump ahead of Michigan and UCLA and into 9th in Monday’s rankings, bumping Michigan to 10th and UCLA to 11th.
Pre-meet lineups for Oklahoma have Siegfeldt in on beam instead of Wells, and for Cal have Brown in on bars instead of Perea.
Rotation 1
Jordyn’s red pants changing up the lineup before we start vault like a true UCLA alum.
Weaver – VT – Arkansas – yfull, big amplitude but a large bounce back. 9.800
Sievers – UB – Oklahoma – maloney to pak, smooth – 1/2 turn on low, solid turn position – FTDT, stuck. Good start. 9.900
Park – VT – Arkansas – yfull, hits with a hop back, smaller bounce but also some more knee position than Weaver. 9.775
Levasseur – UB – Oklahoma – good first hs – toe on to tkatchev, hit – bail, legs together – clear vertical on final cast hs – giant full to double tuck, stuck. 9.925
Dean starts Stanford with yfull, chest forward on landing.
Smith – VT – Arkansas – good height on yfull, just a little absorb up in place. 9.925
Lauzon does similar on her leadoff bars landing for Cal, little bounce rebound. 9.900
Torrez – UB – OU – Ray, high, just a little close on catch – pak, big arch but fine – DLO, another stick. 9.875
Price – VT – Arkansas – yfull, another good amplitude one, medium bounce back. 9.825
Zeng does the best yfull I’ve seen from her for Stanford, sticks, pike throughout. 9.850.
Smith – UB – OU – Ray to pak, solid – nice 1/2 turn finish – good hs on high – DLO, little piking but better this season, holds onto landing with an arm circle. 9.900
Klein – VT – Arkansas – y1.5 is hit, good distance, step forward, some knees. 9.875, so someone took only for the step.
Davis – UB – OU – good first hs – higgins to piked jaeger, good height – hits hs – pak, great – 1/2 turn, nice – hits hs – higgins to double front 1/2 out, stuck with the usual leg position question. And the usual 9.975.
Williams – VT – Arkansas – y1.5, hop to the side and some leg break on table and knees and goes 9.925. So we’re pretty loose on the body position in the air today on vault.
Bowers – UB – OU – good first hs – blind to piked jaeger – pak, legs together – hits her 1/2 turn on low – FTDT, small step.
Arkansas vaults 49.350.
Frazier up 4th on bars for Cal, following some huge numbers to start. Maloney to pak, little bit of body position in the air – 1/2 turn on low – DLO, very little slide back. 9.975 ok now.
Oklahoma 49.600 on bars, very nice rotation, lot of sticks.
Roberts – VT – Stanford – pretty large lunge forward on y1.5 but nice body position at the beginning of that vault. 9.800
Williams – UB – Cal – good first hs – maloney to pak, smoothly done – 1/2 turn on low, small arch in back – hits hs on high – DLO, possible slight rebound there. 9.950 they were readdddy for a 10 today judging by Frazier’s 9.975 but that wasn’t her very cleanest showing.
Nguyen – VT – Stanford – y1.5, medium hop forward, solid. 9.850
Brown – UB – Cal – pak, good height, a little over the low bar, cast out is a bit short – misses her toes on toe on and recasts – hits van leeuwen – toe on pike 1/2, slide back. So that will be the drop score.
Cal puts up a 49.700 on bars to lead Stanford’s 49.175 on vault.
Rotation 2
Torrez – VT – OU – shorter landing on y1.5 with a step back. 9.825
Swaney – UB – Arkansas – toe on to ray, solid distance on catch – pak, smooth – 1/2 turn, some hip position a bit late – DLO, bounce back and some leg separation. 9.800
Wells – VT – OU – Y1.5, nice one, little hop forward, solid position. 9.900
Pratt – UB – Arkansas – Ray, not the highest but solid – short hs – bail, some hip angle – DLO, legs together well and stuck. Nice finish. 9.775
Bowers – VT – OU – y1.5, also a short landing with a step back this week. 9.900 is too high with the step and short landing.
Drotar – UB – Arkansas – toe on to maloney to bail, good vertical position – hits hs on high – DLO, step back and then a lean takes her to another step to the side. 9.775. Got her on the dismount.
Levasseur – VT – OU – pretty, can’t hold onto the stick, step forward. 9.900
Scalzo – UB – Arkansas – blind to jaeger, solid amplitude – DLO, nice stick. 9.875.
Scheible – VT – OU – handspring pike 1/2, one of her better I’ve seen this year, chest up, small bounce back. 9.925
Park – UB – Arkansas – good first hs – toe on to Ray, good amplitude – pak, also high – 1/2 turn on low, clean – hits hs on high – DLO, legs apart, bounce back. 9.800
Frazier hits DTY for Cal with a small hop back for 9.925.
Siegfeldt now in on vault for OU, hits a y1.5, hop forward and some knee position. 9.900
Jones – UB – Arkansas – blind to piked jaeger, can’t catch.
Arkansas will be done on 49.025 on bars. Will be disappointed in that score, definitely tighter evaluation than we’re seeing on bars at the Stanford meet. But the hard truth for Arkansas is that if Sievers is leading off Oklahoma for 9.900, then today’s Arkansas lineup won’t get into the 9.9s.
Alexeeva up 4th on bars for Stanford, following some big numbers – toe higgins to piked jaeger, great – short hs on high – pak, bit of leg separation – giant full to double tuck, stuck. Everything except the handstands was there today. And still goes 9.925.
Silvers – VT – Cal – y1.5, nearly found the stick, little hop and a leg separation on the block. 9.850
Roberts – UB – Stanford – pak, smooth – misses her toes on toe-on on low bar and has to hop off. They do have four giant scores so far. Resumes, toe on to van leeuwen, small leg break – DLO, stuck. Good finish. 9.400 with a fall.
Mayhew – VT – Cal – uncontrolled on her y1.5 landing with a big lunge forward, some tucking at the end.
Widner – UB – Stanford – tkatchev, nice amplitude – hits hs on high – giant full to bail, legs together well – strong final cast hs – DLO, small hop forward. 9.925
It’s a 49.275 vault rotation for Cal to drop them a hair under 198 pace after the first two events. Stanford closes the gap with their own 49.525 on bars.
After 2:
Cal 98.975
Stanford 98.700
Oklahoma 99.125
Arkansas 98.375
Rotation 3
Gamiao – BB – Arkansas – loso loso, hits with a correction lean to the side – side somi, secure – switch to split, solid – full turn – 1.5 dismount, step forward. 9.800
Davis – FX – OU – front 2/1, around – switch 1/2 to wolf full – 1.5 to front full, controls the step despite coming in a hair low . 9.925
Dean leading off Stanford on beam – nice full turn – side loso, lean correction with arm wave – straddle jump to straddle 1/4, nice – 1.5 dismount, step forward. 9.775
Jones – BB – Arkansas – aerial to bhs bhs is hit – full turn, smooth – split jump to stag ring, a little low on split jump but secure – front full, holds onto stick with a lean. 9.875
Johnson – FX – OU – front lay to rudi, chest a bit forward, controls step – double tuck, bigger bounce back, looks OOB? 9.800
Nguyen 2nd on beam for Stanford – standing loso loso, great height, step back and arm wave wobble – cat leap to switch side, check – straddle jump, check before beat jump – 2/1 dismount, small rebound. 9.800
Smith – FX – OU – double tuck, good foot position, smallll rebound – 1.5 to lay, not the highest lay today but secure – switch side to wolf full, good completion positions – double pike, little bounce. 9.850
Robinson – BB – Stanford – bhs loso is right on – switch to split, comfortable – hitch kick to side aerial to beat, hit, some foot position in side aerial – full turn – 1.5 dismount, good stick. And 9.950.
Weaver with a larger break on side aerial in 4th spot for Arkansas on beam. 9.750
Levasseur – FX – OU – FTDT, foot position and some leg separation in the air – switch side and a little, straddle shush – 1.5 to 1/2 to straddle, well controlled. 9.875
Cesario – FX – Cal – back 1.5 to front full, just controls that landing, leaning forward into dance – double tuck, high, bounce back.
We have a couple 9.950s in the first 1/2 of Cal’s floor lineup so gird yourselves.
Klein – BB – Arkansas – aerial loso, wobble with leg leaving beam, some feet – switch to split it solid – full turn – 1.5, little hop. 9.850
Torrez – FX – OU – DLO – leg up hop full – split full to wolf full, comfortable – double tuck, secure landing. 9.925
Neault with another very comfortable beam for Stanford with a stick. Another 9.950. Fourth in row at this meet across the two events.
Linton – BB – Arkansas – bhs bhs loso, hits it, arm wave to avoid a check – switch to split, leaning through combination but gets it – 1.5, hop forward. 9.900 for a 49.300 beam for Arkansas.
Bowers – FX – OU – front 2/1 to front tuck, not her usual height on that front tuck but works it out – huge double pike, a bit forward – split leap to switch 1/2 to wolf full, excellent.
And there’s a 10.000. Didn’t really feel like it was her very best one, and Sydney agrees with me.
49.575 for Oklahoma’s floor.
Alexeeva – BB – Stanford – good wolf – bhs loso, solid.
And we’re up to 9.975 here.
Lauzon – FX – Cal – front 2/1 to front tuck, right on – switch ring to switch 1/2, nice positions – back 1.5 to front full, gets that stick. Doesn’t look like she’s going to have the height to but then she does. Up to 9.975 here as well.
Widner – BB – Stanford – it’s set up for her – switch to split, good – bhs loso, lovely feet, right on – aerial to split jump, excellent – gainer full, stuck. Wonderful.
10.000 for Widner. The scoring at this meet has been WILD but not mad at that 10 specifically.
49.675 beam for Stanford.
Frazier – FX – Cal – DLO, controls her front foot well – switch ring, switch 1/2, sissone, nice positions – split ring jump, great – front tuck to double tuck, chest up. Let’s see. 9.975 for Frazier as well.
Cal sets a floor record for the team on 49.750. Judge 1 had it on 49.850.
After 3
Cal 148.725
Stanford 148.375
Oklahoma 148.700
Arkansas 147.675
Rotation 4
Davis – BB – OU – full turn – bhs loso, solid – aerial – beat to split ring jump, small lean – 2/1, some knee, good stick. 9.925
Gamiao – FX – Arkansas – double pike, small front foot movement – 1.5 through to 2/1, good position – switch 1/2 to popa – double tuck, some leg separation, solid control again. 9.850
Siegfeldt – BB – OU – newly into the lineup – bhs loso, smooth – full turn – cat leap to front aerial – beat to split ring jump, nice – gainer full, stuck. Very good.
Oh wow we have another 10 here in the second spot. It was solid?
Li – BB – Cal – aerial and wayyyyy off, tried to lean through to back tuck but falls – it just got interesting. 9.075
Klein – FX – Arkansas – front loso to double tuck, chest down, under control – double pike, also under control, some chest position again, but solid.
Bowers – BB – OU – full turn, good – bhs loso, secure – switch 1/2 is landed under control – 2/1, leg crossing, stuck. 9.925
Jones – FX – Arkansas – front 2/1, good completion and control – switch ring to switch 1/2, a little low on amplitude but complete – back 1.5 to front lay – rudi
Williams goes 9.950 in the beam second spot for Cal.
Torrez – BB – OU – wolf jump, great – aerial to loso, lean correction to the side – switch to straddle jump, hit – bhs gainer full, stuck. 9.850
Smith – FX – Arkansas – front loso to double tuck, cowboys a little, chest up, small movement – switch side 1/2 to popa, good amplitude – double pike, good stick, some knee position in the air.9.925
Levasseur – BB – OU – full turn – bhs loso, secure landing – switch to straddle 1/4, holds it – cat leap to aerial – gainer full, near stick. 9.900
Frazier – BB – Cal – up 4th, following that leadoff fall but also two 9.950s, aerial, keeps moving into loso – split jump to split ring, little check – holds stick on 1.5 dismount. 9.950
Williams – FX – Arkansas – FTDT, good control, some feet in the air – back 1.5 to a great layout in combination – switch side and a little into a clear popa – double tuck, good feet, under control. 9.925
Nice rudi from Roberts on floor for Stanford, a little low on leap combination, pulling it around – fake out wolf turn, stands up for normal turn – double tuck is deep, avoids knee down but a lunge forward
Smith – BB – OU – bhs loso, solid – aerial, comfortable – straddle 1/4 to korbut, ever so slightly off line but gets it – full turn – bhs gainer full, leans forward and then a little movement. 9.850.
Lauzon – BB – Cal – wolf single – hits her bhs bhs loso series – 2/1 dismount, holds the stick with a wide stance,
And we have a 10.000 for Lauzon.
Price – FX – Arkansas – DLO, chest up, controlled well – switch side to popa to popa, big, excellent – front full to front lay, little slide forward. 9.950 with a 10.000/9.900 split.
Nguyen – FX – Stanford – DLO, under control – switch side and a little, into popa – back 2.5 to front pike, lower but gets it to her feet. 9.925
Oklahoma finishes on 198.350 to Arkansas on 197.275
Perea – BB – Cal – moment of truth for Cal’s program record quest – wolf double, good – kickover to back tuck, through it comfortably this week – switch to split to beat, smooth combination – side somi to tuck 1.5 dismount, all we could see is eMjae, so no idea on the landing, but it’s a hit. 9.975 for Perea, so from a fall in the first spot, Cal ends up on 49.825 on beam (!) and a 198.550 total.
Widner – FX – Stanford – front lay to front full, good height – switch full, and pretty not bad – double pike, nice stick, flexed feet. 9.975
Stanford, meanwhile, goes 197.975, which is their second best score event, short of only that meet against Cal 20 years ago when they went 198.875 that we’re still talking about. But also 2004 LIVESSS IN STANFORD TODAY.
