About
The Bhardwaj has a number of appealing qualities for gymnasts looking to perform it—in particular its juicy E-value status and how it finishes facing the correct direction to perform a Shaposhnikova-style element.
You’d like everyone and her great aunt Carla would be performing the Bhardwaj, but it currently remains the domain of only the most adventurous bars workers because of the extreme challenge of performing it with legs together in a fully ladylike position. When most gymnasts perform the Bhardwaj, their legs flop apart in a corkscrew-inspired straddle, losing more tenths in execution than are gained in the D-score advantage it provides over the Pak. And also looking ugly and whatnot. Those who perform the Bhardwaj cleanly enough for the skill to be worth doing are few and far between, but they do exist and should be showered with gifts.
