The simplest of the turns, the full turn was used on floor by those who didn’t care much for turning and had no intention of trying to wrench around a D turn and then not get credit for it.
The death knell for the full turn came in the elimination of the requirement to show a turn in a floor routine. Now, you do either a complicated turn, or none at all. No need for the full turn.
