The 2020s saw this skill go from popularity to controversy to demotion as it initially started to gain traction as a very manageable C (0.3) dance element to throw into your routine. The catch was the actual description of the skill, which required the leg to be held above horizontal through the entirety of the full turn. Lots of people weren’t…doing that, resulting in some critical downgrades, including to Jade Carey in the 2022 world floor final, which bumped Rebeca Andrade up into a bronze medal tie.
To remedy this issue, the 2025 code update revised both the technical requirements and the value of this skill to make it a B (0.2) element with the leg held at horizontal, but no longer needing to be above horizontal.
So bye bye leg-up full. It is no longer worth enough to do.
