About
There is my no means a consensus as to what to call these damn skills. Are they inbars? Are the piked-Stalders? Can we come up with a better name that’s none of those things?
My preference is for piked-Stalder because the term inbar is also used to describe release elements performed in between the bars (as in, an inbar Gienger), and so describing a pirouette shape with the same terminology is less clear and definitive than it needs to be. But, inbar is the most common of the terms primarily due to its lack of letters and syllables.
The piked Stalder 1/2 is a particular gem in modern elite bars competition because it is the highest-rated way of working into a Jaeger, and the only one that qualifies for connection value. That has made it the chosen pre-Jaeger skill of the best bars workers in the world. About 90% of the gymnasts performing the piked Stalder 1/2 connect it directly into a Jaeger element (as of 2017).
