The back layout was refreshingly rewarded with an upgrade in 2017 to make it one of the highest-valued mounts in the entire code of points, with only the Arabian and the back layout full rated as more valuable. Its difficulty still makes it exceptionally rare, with most gymnasts attempting real acrobatic mounts opting to go for the back handspring or layout stepout instead, but we have seen this mount a little bit more often in the last couple years, almost entirely from glorious central European nymphs.
