The basic Stalder circle is not quite as popular as the toe-on for gymnasts who need to throw an extra C-value element into their routine to get up to 8 elements of at least C value (an informal marker of baseline international-quality content). Still, it’s the second most popular option in that regard. Those who can perform a Stalder non-clunkily are few and far between but are worthy of great admiration.

Unlike the clear-hip or the toe-on, the Stalder is the only circle type named after a human person and therefore is supposed to be capitalized on all occasions. Unless you’re hurrying. Or being intentionally casual because of cool. Or just don’t want to.
