This is one of those elements that’s mostly a vestige of a previous time but has hung around the elite code of points. I guess if you just need to throw in an A dance element? We’ll always have that time Angelina Melnikova did it.
In the insignificant but odd department, the description of the skill has not changed, but in the updated drawings for 2025, they altered this skill so that gymnast is not doing a change-leg to get to the wolf position anymore. Even though the skill description still requires a leg change.
