About
Previously the realm of vault specialists, the Yurchenko double full is now essentially the minimum prerequisite for all-around success, certainly for any hope of contending for an all-around medal at a major competition.

Mostly you’ll see this vault referred to as a DTY in print and a Yurchenko double full aloud (it always feels weird to say DTY aloud) and almost never as the Baitova. Not when there’s such easy shorthand like DTY available. The Amanar is universally called the Amanar only because “Yurchenko 2 and a 5” is seven whole syllables and ain’t nobody got time for that.

Naming this vault the Baitova is one of the weirder and more controversial code naming decisions anyway, as Eugenia Golea of Romania performed the DTY at 1987 worlds along with Baitova, and yet her name is nowhere to be found in the code of points. Fun and good.
