The forward roll mount received a wonderful gift in the 2022 code of points update when the turn requirement was amended to become a turn or roll requirement.
So, rather than being just…among the random ways to mount the beam, the forward roll mount became an opportunity to get a 0.5 composition requirement checked off. Very useful for those athletes who previously had to throw in a regular full turn to get that 0.5 and could now replace it with the simple forward roll mount.
