Spelling note: The i goes before the e, as in Wieber, not as in Weiler.
Until 2017, the code of points made no differentiation in value between the piked Gienger and the laid out Gienger (seen above), so both skills would be referred to by the catch-all Gienger.
This was particularly helpful because even the better attempts at a laid out Gienger still look kind of piked and can easily be mistaken for piked Giengers. Nastia Liukin’s is probably the best attempt on record, but even it is not fully laid out. In 2017, the difficulty of laying out a Gienger was recognized with an upgrade of one tenth in difficulty, though that hasn’t exactly initiated a run on the bank for layout Giengers because, once again, they’re pretty much all piked anyway.
