The kick to handstand is more the kind of element you’d see included in a younger compulsory routine purely to make everyone’s lives a waking misery, and not so much in a big-girl elite routine, but it is an option in the code.
Even in the days of yore when handstands on beam were all the rage, gymnasts were more likely to just do them rather than bothering with a kick that could complicate things. In modern elite gymnastics, there is no incentive to do much of anything involving a handstand because it’s not an aerial cartwheel.
