Phillips got this mount named after herself in her lone appearance at a major international event, the 1987 World Championship in Rotterdam, a year after she was on the cover of Sports Illustrated doing a reverse planche with the title “the next Mary Lou” because everything always works out just as planned.
For most people, this mount is the iconic Kristie Phillips moment, but those people obviously never saw her themed beam routines about Vietnam, Princess Diana, and Gianni Versace at the Reese’s Cup. Those are the true Phillipses.
