About
This skill is a bizarre little duckling that has been described many different ways in the code of points despite its relatively brief lifetime.
When it was first named after Tunde Csillag at the 2010 world championships in Rotterdam, it was described simply as “side split leap with full turn.” Pretty straightforward, despite the fact that you can see above that she’s attempting to get around a little more in that leap.
For the 2017 code update, the description of the skill was changed to “leap forward with 3/4 turn into straddle pike position with 1/4 turn.” That is basically what Csillag does—in that she performs 3/4 of a turn before hitting that side split position and then turns more on the way down—but it’s not how the skill was originally described.
In the 2022 code update, the skill description was changed again, to “leap forward, through tour jete technique, with 3/4 turn into straddle pike position with additional 1/4 turn, landing on one or both feet.” A far cry from “side split leap with full turn.”
