About
The straddled planche hasn’t completely disappeared from modern elite gymnastics, but the code differentiates between a jump directly into the planche position—named after Yelena Shushunova—and this one, where the hips are piked up into the planche position, which is rarer.
Typically when we would see planches as mounts on beam, they were either the stretched-hip Shushunova or a piked-hip press handstand followed by a lower to planche, both of which are C (0.3) elements, while this one is a B.
