This is among those old-fashionedy looking release skills that doesn’t have a footprint in modern elite gymnastics. This is a particularly unusual one because this specific skill is attributed to Volpi in the code of points, but the way Volpi performed it (seen in the GIF) as a front vault over the bar followed by 1/2 turn to catch and the way it is depicted in the skill image (farthest drawing to the right in the skill box) as a 1/2 turning vault over the high bar like a straddled version of the Zhang are very different.
Anyway, if you were to perform it the way Volpi did today, the massive amplitude deductions would far outweigh the pittance of C value that the skill receives, making it pointless. Yada, yada, yada, we haven’t seen this skill in lifetimes.
