While we see plenty of elements on beam showing a ring shape, it is usually accompanied with a split and very well rewarded by the code. This basic ring position with one leg also exists, just hasn’t really caught on.
The stag ring was similarly nonexistent at the elite level as recently as 30 seconds ago, but it has made a semi-resurgence because of its now-essential B value for use in mixed series. In that…one or two people are doing it now. You’ll also hear the stag ring called a double stag, but they are technically different because a stag ring requires head release and a double stag does not.
