The original “um, your back done broke” mount has fallen out of favor in modern gymnastics following the rule change that said surgical replacement of vertebrae with a family of squid is now classified as a performance enhancing drug. It’s really quite difficult to perform this element without the aid of squid-back, and so people have increasingly turned away from bothering with this element, especially for its paltry C value.
