While the upgrade of mount values in 2017 generally encouraged athletes to take more risks in their beam mounts, this never translated to one of the most glorious mounts of all, the aerial walkover. Oh. You mean, because…it’s hard? Fine. I guess. Even after the promotion of this mount to F (0.6), the number of gymnasts performing it remained constant at zero.

Even more than many of the other risky acrobatic mounts, this one is such a fall risk because of…well, just look at the landing position even in the drawing in the code box. Home girl is about to fall backward onto the beam like a precious porcelain lamp.
