About
The humble stag jump busted its way back onto the gymnastics scene with a vengeance during the 2012 Olympic cycle when the act of slapping an A dance element onto the end of a D tumbling pass earned a tenth of connection bonus.

The stag jump’s popularity dimmed slightly when that tumbling pass had to be an E starting in 2013, but it remains the favorite A dance element to use to get connection bonus.

Typically, this connected stag jump travels exactly one inch off the group and emerges as more of a…flop hop? A flail jete?

The 1/2-turning version of the stag jump is the same value as the regular version, ensuring there is absolutely no point to it.

Among the dance elements named after animals, the stag jump is probably the least stupid because…you can see it. With the deer and the leaping and the leg. I’ll go on that journey with you.

Because gymnastics is a comedy, not a drama
