Several changes were made to this element in the 2022 update to the code points. Most importantly, it was awarded back to Elena Produnova as a named element (because who else would even dare to rip her legs off in such a fashion). Produnova got this skill named after herself at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, but her name disappeared from this element int he 2006 code update before being reinstated in 2022.

The description of the skill also changed. Previously, it was described as a split leap with full turn to land in a sit split, but now it is a tour jeté with 1/2 turn to land in a sit split, as it was described when Produnova originally had it named.

In the 1989-1992 code of points, the skill description for the split leap with full turn did include the note “landing optional,” and the drawing did show a gymnast landing in split. So this was at least envisioned well before.
