Following its 2017 upgrade to E (0.5), the wolf jump with 1.5 turns became tied for the most valuable Group 2 (leaps, jumps, hops) element on beam. Only the switch side 1/2, switch ring, and tour jeté 1/2 share its rarefied value—with an emphasis on the rare when it comes to the wolf jump 1.5. Even the lure of an E has not been enough to get gymnasts to try it.

By far the most commonly attempted of the E dance elements is the switch ring, which is also the only one without turning. The least commonly attempted is the wolf jump 1.5, the only one that is a jump rather than a leap. Clues!
