Double Pike 1/1 (Floor Exercise)

Floor exercise

Skill type

Known as
Pike(d) full-in
Double pike 1/1
Full-twisting double pike

Unlike the tucked version of the skill, which is performed in many different variations depending on when the twist occurs, the piked version is only ever performed as a full-in, with the full twist occurring before the double pike is initiated.

As the FIG makes sure to tell you at every possible opportunity, it does not recognize piked twisting as a thing.

The piked full-in is oddly rare on floor these days but is the victim of being valued equally to the tuck. You’re always going to choose the tucked version unless you’re performing both. Few perform both. The tendency to stagger the legs in the piked saltos also provokes some E-score-destruction fears.
