Ting Hua Tien (TPE) – 2019
About
Ting Hua Tien got this skill named after herself at the 2019 World Cup in Melbourne, and it has the (very nerdy and esoteric) distinction of being the first women’s gymnastics skill to receive name credit at a world cup event.
For most of gymnastics history, skills could only be named at a world championships or Olympics, but the change to allow skills to be named at authorized lower-level events allowed Ting to get this one named at an early season apparatus world cup—before going on to perform it at subsequent major events.
This skill escaped the 2025 downgrade that hit the full-twisting jump version and has remained a D element as originally awarded.
