About
Welcome, it’s terminology minefield time! In this element, the gymnast performs one full turn, landing facing the same direction as she started, but it is called a tour jeté 1/2 because a tour jeté by definition already includes a 1/2 turn. Making it a full-turning element means you are adding a half turn to a tour jeté. Tour jeté 1/2

But if you are going to use “split leap” terminology, it would be a split leap full because of the full turn.

Now to the naming.

The skill drawing in the code of points identifies this whole element as a Produnova, but the Produnova specifically refers to this skill landed in a sit split, not landed on your feet.

For 8 years, this element landed feet first was known as the Strug after Kerri Strug got it named after herself at the 1993 world championships in Birmingham.

And this is how these elements appeared in the 2001 update to the code.

While Produnova had this element returned to her in the 2022 update to the code of points, Strug did not.

Because gymnastics is a comedy, not a drama
