About
Elena Mukhina owns the distinction of being the first women’s gymnast ever to have a skill named after herself on floor exercise, landing a full-twisting double tuck attempt at the 1977 World Cup in Oviedo, Spain and a stronger one in the all-around of the 1978 World Championship in Strasbourg. The Mukhina entered the code of points as a C element, the highest possible difficulty at the time. Not until the 1983 World Championship would she be joined by Olga Mostepanova and Tatiana Frolova in having eponymous skills on floor.

A great shame was inflicted upon the code of points in the 2025 update, when it was decided that the double Arabian with a 1/2 twist out would be treated as the same element as the full-twisting double tuck—ostensibly because they both contain two flips and a total of one full turn at some point—despite the double Arabian 1/2 out being obviously more challenging to perform.
