Kara Eaker is in the beam lineup. Decorate accordingly.
Lily Smith is in no lineups. Mourn accordingly?

Pierson replaces her on bars, Eaker/Tomlin replace her and Turner on beam, King replaces her on floor.

Kentucky has Gormley leading off on vault but otherwise is like, no we’re good again, so…changing nothing.

We see a replay of Smith’s…leg ouchie?…mid-leap series during the floor warmup. She’s in a boot now.

Rotation 1

Gormley – VT – Kentucky – yfull, hits it with a step back, not a ton of dynamics. 9.800, pretty loose scoring start

Bacskay – UB – Georgia – hits hs on high – pak, legs together – small arch in hs on low – toe on to van leeuwen, solid form again – giant full slightly hesitant into double tuck, holds stick. 9.850

Rizo – VT – Kentucky – yfull, very nice height, good form, little lean to hold landing. 9.900

Snyder – UB – Georgia – church, a bit of legs, into overshoot, sort of in between handstand and not, but wasn’t going for the handstand for difficulty – FTDT, holds onto landing. 9.825

Gardner – VT – Kentucky – hs pike 1/2 is hit, bounce back with both feet, some leg separation and tucking throughout. 9.800

Woolford – UB – Georgia – hits first hs – pak, lovely, good height – toe on to van leeuwen, good leg form – stalder to double tuck is a problem, short, chest well down, large lunge. 9.675

Noonan – VT – Kentucky – ro 1/2 on pike 1/2, only a fairly small bounce back, chest down, little adjustment lean after the bounce. 9.850

Scott – UB – Georgia – good hs – Ray is close but gets it, connects to pak, works through it with a hesitation, still gets up to handstand – van leeuwen, small foot form to initiate – DLO, arm wave and small step on landing. Fought through it but was on the edge of losing it.

Attempted close up of Cecile is just a scoreboard.

Rodriguez – VT – Kentucky – verrrrry flat coming off the vault, no change to complete her 1.5 and sits it down. 9.150

Reingold – UB – Georgia – good hs – hits piked jaeger, small leg sep – nearly overbalances handstand on high, pulls it back – pak is lovely – hesitation arm circle stepping up to high – great toe point – DLO, small hop back. 9.875

Cashion – VT – Kentucky – handspring pike 1/2, great block, not a ton of distance though that’s fairly normal for this vault, chest down, a little off balance so has the step. 9.825

Pierson – UB – Georgia – toe on to maloney, leg sep, connects to a solid pak – 1/2 turn on low, a little past – tight hs on high – toe full, good finish into double tuck, chest forward, small step forward, did what she needed. 9.825. That originally came in as 9.900 and I was like…uh…

After 1
Kentucky 49.175
Georgia 49.175

Cecily Rizo’s Yurchenko full is the only one who gets a tiara today. Both teams starting a little flat here but through a non-disaster rotation. Georgia will be ruing the lack of a big score more because bars should be a good one, but they were not as crisp as usual and of course missed Smith.

Rotation 2

Scott – VT – Georgia – great form on yfull as usual, very small movement on landing. 9.900

Rizo – UB – Kentucky – short first hs – blind to jaeger, solid, good feet – hits hs on high – legs together on bail – better hs as we go – DLO is a form struggle, whippy with leg separation and a step back. I feel like Anastasia did not watch the dismount I did. 9.800

Bacskay – VT – Georgia – Y1.5, good height, medium hop forward, soft knees. 9.825

Nemcek – UB – Kentucky – short first hs – giant full, a little past, great gienger, connects to overshoot, some pike throughout – strong hs on high – FTDT, step forward. 9.800

Got away with some 9.8s here, could have been 9.7s.

Moll – VT – Georgia – Y1.5, pretty solid, good form throughout, hop forward, better extension than Bacskay so should go up. 9.850, barely did.

Van Frayen – UB – Kentucky – better first hs – blind to jaeger, good form – pak, small leg sep, hit – tighter final hs – FTDT, good stick. 9.875

Aquino – VT – Georgia – Tsuk 1/1, good distance, small step back, leg sep in pre-flight. 9.900. “here go the scores” is right

Bennett – UB – Kentucky – maloney to pak, good form, legs together – solid leg form on 1/2 turn on low, loses position a little early – DLO, good stick. We had a bad camera angle for the end of that but thought it looked strong. 9.850.

Wahl – VT – Georgia – solid pop on y1.5, hop forward, good form, small foot separation late. 9.850

Noonan – UB – Kentucky – falls on Ray – took it super super high, no chance to catch – re-performs it, hit into overshoot – DLO, step back

C Williams – VT – Georgia – hits her y1.5, magics out a stick with an arm wave, landed back on her heels but didn’t step, not the most distance. 9.875

Rodriguez – UB – Kentucky – hits hs on high – tkatchev, a little flat, hit – clear hip to bail, small hip angle – DLO, small hop back. 9.875

After 2
Georgia 98.550
Kentucky 98.375

Georgia will definitely take a 49.375 for a vault rotation with hops. Didn’t give away much in the form department in the air, which bodes well for their future. Kentucky able to avoid counting a miss and go 49.200 on bars, a bit below the pace they want if they’re aiming to be a 197 team, but they’ll anticipate improving on that pace in the second half of a home meet.

Rotation 3

Rizo – BB – Kentucky – candle mount, hit – aerial, smooth – bhs loso, good extension, confident – switch, little hesitant into straddle 1/2, adjustment – full turn, tighter – 1.5, tries to hold onto the stick but two major arm circles and a lean to do so. 9.825

E Williams – FX – Georgia – double pike, chest kind of down, a ltitle forward but sells the control, good form – switch side to popa, switch side looked under split – front lay to front full, controls the step, kind of snuck up on her – double tuck, small movement. 9.850

Brose – BB – Kentucky – high front tuck, nice – kickover, keeps moving to bhs, very satisfying, good form – not quite there on switch position, into beat jump – full turn, hit – 1.5 dismount, step. 9.850

King – FX – Georgia – front 2/1 to front tuck is well controlled – switch side to popa, solid foot positions – back 1.5, some leg sep, into a front lay, good. Ok there, Nicole King. 9.875

Lee – BB – Kentucky – bhs magic into bhs loso, was sure she was going off after she kicked her own foot on the first bhs but no – switch to straddle 1/4, hit – full turn, slight hesitation – 1.5 dmt, stuck. 9.900

Wahl – FX – Georgia – FTDT, chest up, controls step, small shin separation – front tuck through to double tuck, also solid control – 1.5 turn is precisely finished – tour jete 1/2 to wolf full, around clearly – strong. 9.925

Bennett – BB – Kentucky – full turn – bhs loso loso right on, very solid, right to the end – cat leap is an afterthought but into a good aerial, small waver correction – switch to beat, lower back leg on switch – gainer pike, sticks. 9.875

Tomlin – FX – Georgia – double Arabian into stag, we can’t see if because there’s a closeup and a chair, thank you, I think good? – switch 1/2 to popa, good height, got a little hesitant in the footwork moving into the combo – front lay through to double tuck is a struggle, very short, lunge forward. 9.725

Van Frayen – BB – Kentucky – stomach roll mount – bhs onodi, lovely in progress but a large wobble, bend forward at the hips – aerial, some knee, securely landed – mid routine closeup of Oleksii – switch to beat, very nice – 1.5 dmt, kind of short, step back. 9.675

Aquino – FX – Georgia – DLO is short today, chest forward, hop, some uncharacteristic short landings today for Georgia – front tuck through to double tuck, slightly too much on that one but mostly controls the slide back – switch 1/2 to wolf full, excellent lift – big pike jump. 9.800, gets away with the mistake for a still usable score.

Rodriguez – BB – Kentucky – switch to straddle 1/4, slight shuffle walking into hit, hit positions – bhs bhs loso, hit, small arm correction on landing – full turn, smooth – side somi, holds it – 1.5, good stick. 9.925

Williams – FX – Georgia – DLO, excellent position in the air, small bounce back – switch side, overturns by a 1/4 into popa, good amplitude – front tuck through to double tuck, controls it, chest a little down. 9.925

After 3
Georgia 147.925
Kentucky 147.750

A couple majorly short landings for Georgia there have put them close enough to Kentucky that they still have to try to win it with beam, which has been an adventure so far this season.Kentucky majorly improved from earlier in the season in the not-going-to-absolute-pieces department on beam. Technically beam should be their best event considering built-in form, and we’re actually seeing that.

After 4

Snyder – BB – Georgia – bhs loso loso, hit, small adjustment on landing – full turn, very nice – beat to switch 1/2, nice beat jump, under split on switch 1/2 – 1.5 dmt, a little low, holds onto stick with lean arm circle. If you’re not holding onto your stick with a lean and arm circle in the leadoff spot, you’re off trend this year. 9.850

Van Frayen – FX – Kentucky – wolf double, around, smooth exit – double tuck, bounce back – switch ring to switch 1/2, pulls it out – front lay to rudi, slide back. 9.800

Eaker – BB – Georgia – smooth full turn like a comfortable adult beamer – side aerial to loso, strong series – switch to switch 1/2, good positions, wobbbles around with an arm wave, pulls it back – gainer full, very low, lean forward into a step salute. But she hit it. 9.775

Rizo – FX – Kentucky – front tuck through to double tuck, keeps front foot down on step back – double pike, more of a bounce back on that one – switch 1/2 to popa, good feet – 1.5 to layout, solid layout form but doesn’t rise out of 1.5. 9.825

Woolford – BB – Georgia – wolf double, good – bhs loso, great leg position, solid landing – switch to split, excellent positions – hesitation before dismount – 2/1, holds onto the stick, some chest position and leg crossing. 9.950 ok now. A little high for me given the dismount form.

Bennett – FX – Kentucky – double pike, very nice, good amplitude and control – switch ring to wolf hop full, good – front lay to front full, controls it as well – double tuck, chest down, step forward. 9.825

Tomlin – BB – Georgia – switch to straddle, pretty straddle position, comfortable – bhs bhs loso, small arm correction but hit, good lift in final loso – full turn – 1.5 dismount, hop forward. 9.875

Gardner – FX – Kentucky – DLO, excellent rise, you’re allowed to call this one a huuuuuugggeeeeee double layout, but a large bounce back and OOB steps – switch side to wolf full, under positions and a little out of control – front tuck through to double tuck, chest down, step forward as well. 9.525

C Williams – BB – Georgia – bhs layout, falls – side somi, hit – beat, pauses before straddle 3/4 – full turn – gainer pike, stuck

Range was 9.0/9.35. Conference. I had a broken dance combo in addition to the fall.

And we have 9.075.

Rodriguez – FX – Kentucky – rudi to layout 2 feet, controls the landing, nice – switch side, overturns a little, into a wolf full, under wolf position – double tuck, little rebound but controls the front foot – back 1.5 to 1/2 to straddle jump. 9.900

Scott – BB – Georgia – full turn, a little tentative – bhs loso, good extension, nice hit – aerial, keeps arms moving, a little slow into gorgeous split and back handspring – switch to split, yes – fhs to rudi, stuck. Nice. 9.900

Brose – FX – Kentucky – double pike, excellent as usual – tour jete 1/2 to wolf full, better lift in wolf position – front full to front lay, whips around the front lay some but hit under control – front 2/1, good twist. 9.925

FINAL
Georgia 197.275
Kentucky 197.025

They’ll take these scores. Georgia was kind of flat, didn’t absolutely nail any of the rotations, didn’t have Lily Smith, and still came out with a usable score. Some individual highlights throughout. Kentucky goes over 197, which is a big improvement on where they were a month ago. The conference expectation is still more than 197.0 at a friendly home meet in order to be competitive, but again, it’s not a 194 and beam looked much more like how it’s supposed to look.
