Wahl – VT – Georgia – Y1.5, to her feet, looked a little flat off the vault, shorter landing with step back

Echolls – UB – Missouri – bail, hit, little pike – hits hs on high – blind to khorkina, took it flat and far and couldn’t catch, but they do have five hits already.

Minnesota had a very scary bars miss for Saltzmann in there where she took her DLO too close and almost clipped her face but ended up clipping her feet.

Kaya Forbes followed for UNC and got 9.925 for a non-stuck Yurchenko full with a lean forward, which was insane.

Clark anchoring floor for Clemson – DLO, controls the front foot – front lay to front full to front tuck, stuck – tour jete 1/2 to popa to straight jump, good. 9.925. One of her lower scores for the best floor I’ve seen her do this year. Why college gym keeps you sane.

Battle – BB – Georgia – full turn, hit – split jump 1/4, secure – switch to split, solid split positions – kickover little waver into beat – bhs loso, solid. some foot position – gainer full, nice height, stuck. 9.900

Tanskanen – FX – Missouri – FTDT, very good control – back 1.5 to lay, hit, not the highest but around, slightly soft knees – 9.900

C Williams – BB – Georgia – bhs lay is secure today, some pike in the hips but more laid out than most – side somi, solid – beat to straddle 3/4, nice clear straddle position – full turn – gainer pike, stuck. And another 9.975. The layout position isn’t quite a 10 for me, even if it is worlds better than those lay-pikes that pretend to be layouts.

Horton – FX – Missouri – DLO, high, leg sep, some pike down today to hold it – hop wolf full to straddle 3/4 – front through to double back, very well controlled, good open out of it. 9.950

Valahovic anchors beam for North Carolina, full turn is nice – bhs loso, pretty back foot, secure landing – switch, short back leg, switch 1/2 position is better, connects to beat jump – 1.5 dmt, little lean to hold the stick. 9.950. A lovely routine, but I fear for North Carolina when that same routine goes 9.850 at regionals at they’re like whaaaaaa? But I’ve hit my limit on comments about their scoring because, yes yes I understand, gestures at what’s happening in Georgia.

Kara Eaker goes in exhibition for Georgia today, hits her side aerial to loso – switch 1/2 is hit – switch to split leap, smooth – gainer full is low but landed. Works for me.

Georgia putting up a beam rotation with a fall, a broken connection, and two 9.975s is beautiful nonsense worthy of Val-era UCLA.

Looks like Alabama has two misses to start their beam rotation.

We’ve got some meets going around here. Missouri leads Georgia by .125 heading to the last rotation. Going to keep it with these meets and then start watching Oklahoma/Arkansas when that’s done.

A journey but a hit. She’s like, “I’m German, don’t pretend that was good.” The judges are like, “We will, thanks.” 9.800.

Diaz – FX – Michigan – front 2/1, quick dance out, just slight under rotated – wolf double – rudi to loso, right to the edge but keeps it in – solid completion on dance combo. 9.925

Railey Jackson has a medium wobble on her bhs on beam to lead off for Missouri, bend at the hips, turn to the side. 9.850 sure sure.

Cesario – BB – Clemson – full turn, small adjustment – bhs loso, solid – switch 1/2, very large wobble, bend at the hips and arm wave – redoes the switch 1/2 and leans into the combination this time – 1/5 dmt hop.

Bauman – FX – Michigan – front 2/1, pretty much controls the step out – switch 1/2 to wolf full, wolf full, good clear completion – back 1.5 to layout, good rise into layout position. 9.950 wheeeeeee.

Michigan pulls out the win. Would have wanted a little bit higher total given the assumed score for Ranger on floor, but not a problem result. Clemson will definitely take that score, even in the loss. Second highest of the season.

Torrez – BB – Oklahoma – wolf jump, good – side aerial to loso, very large break, bends over at the hips past horizontal – switch to split, another check – gainer full, strong as always, stuck.

Roberson – FX – Arkansas – DLO, chest up, controls the landing – switch side, over-turns by a bit into popa – her choreography is shushing the deduction for leap precision – front loso to double tuck, chest a little forward, keeps front foot down on step back. 9.975 to troll the crowd. A couple things to take in that one.

Oklahoma right about on their NQS, so nothing much to report there. Arkansas with a huge total, improving their standing in their fight with Missouri.

Anyone else feel like these last few meets of the regular season have lost a little oomph with the new NQS? I’m pro making all the meets matter more, but in doing so, there’s not the same urgency in these last meets to get The Score to knock a lower number off the NQS picture. It’s just…throw it on the pile with the rest of them. Another meet happened.
