Today, we have the second and third parts of the newly expanded Utah meet—now also starring teams that aren’t Utah. The streaming site for these meets has big promises (free for everyone, all four event cameras), so hopefully it actually works.

In earlier action, Oshkosh set a new program record on floor at the Rutgers quad meet en route to the second best score in team history. In ongoing action, Michigan State counted a fall on bars in the first rotation today, and Stanford also counted a fall on bars when Neault dismounted to her face, then Roberts missed her foot on the low bar. San Jose State leads Stanford after two events.

Meanwhile, we’re still in anthems at this meet and haven’t done intros yet.

Minnesota is starting on vault, UCLA on bars, Washington on beam, Boise State on floor.

Michigan State has pulled back ahead of NC State after a 49.400 on floor.

So far I’ve had the main feed cut in and out a couple times, but the event streams have been active.

Rotation 1

Campbell – UB – UCLA – good first hs – maloney to bail, solid vertical – short cast hs on high – blind to double front, shuffle back with both feet – solid. 9.825

Johnson – VT – Minn – good amplitude on her yfull, landed one foot out of the lines, bounce back

Stuck gainer full from Brooks on beam for Washington.

Lee – UB – UCLA – pak, a little close but fine – toe on to van leeuwen, solid, small leg break – short handstand on high – DLO, low landing, chest forward, bigger lunge. 9.600

Moraw with a high yfull for Minnesota with a large bounce back

Secure double pike from leitch on floor for Boise State – front lay to front full, under control, a bit low – solid double tuck landing, chest down.

Moody delivers a second hit on beam for Washington, stuck 1.5 dismount.

Padurariu – UB – UCLA – toe on to maloney, clean – bail is hit – solid handstand on high – hits FTDT dismount, chest down, hop.

Gerdes hits a Y1.5 for Minnesota but a large lunge forward.

Bowles – BB – Washington – side aerial to bhs series was hit, but then a correction bend at the hips trying to work out of it – good full turn – split jump to straight jump full, looked around enough, lovely split position – beat to side aerial, strong – front gainer full, hit.

Quarles sits down her Y1.5.

Harris finishes bars for UCLA with a stuck DLO. Nice.

I’ve lost the event feeds now but have the main feed working. So it’s been an experience so far, but at least it’s free.

Hooten lands her Y1.5 in the anchor spot for Minnesota, medium hop forward and some knees.

Chiles – UB – UCLA – good first hs – piked tkatchev to pak, clean – good hs on low – maloney to gienger, strong – maybe a bit tight on final cast hs – FTDT, hop. And goes 9.950.

Just saw that Harris went 9.975 on bars for that routine we saw the end of.

Minnesota 49.075 on vault.

Navarro finished beam for Washington with a hop forward on a 1.5.

Popp somewhat short on her final pass for Boise State on floor. crossover step adjustment.

Davis – BB – Washington – bhs bhs loso series, hit, lean afterward – beat to straddler 3/4, nice – wobble on full turn – 1.5 dismount, good landing.

We didn’t see Frazier on bars, but small slide back on DLO.

UCLA 49.500 on bars. Anyimi with a good hit in exhibition.

Killough-Wilhelm – BB – Washington – aerial to bhs, smooth, not the fastest but fine – kickover to beat, solid – switch to split, good 180s shown – side aerial to 1.5, short with a lunge back.

McGovern on floor for Boise State, hits rudi to loso comfortably – switch 1/2 to tuck jump 1.5, some lack of control – double tuck, under control, chest down. She’s following a 9.050 from Popp so a necessary hit there.

48.925 for Washington on beam.

Blackson – FX – Boise State – front 2/1 to front tuck is nice, hop forward – split leap full to split jump full, maybe a tad under rotated – 2.5 final pass, hit, just some leg crossing. Solid finish to the rotation.

Now let’s see if we can use the rotation break to fix these streams…

After 1:
UCLA – 49.500
Minnesota – 49.075
Washington – 48.925
Boise State – 48.900

Looks like the events are back. For now.

Michigan State ended up taking that one over NC State, 196.400 to 196.375

Rotation 2

Lee – BB – UCLA – full turn, hit – bhs loso, small foot adjustment but solid – switch to straddle jump, hit – aerial to split jump, solid – bhs gainer full, bounce back. 9.800

Johnson – UB – Minn – good frist hs – toe on to maloney to bail, some angle in the bail – solid handstands – stalder, hesitation into toe on tuck 1/2 dismount – chest forward and a lunge. 9.750

Alipio – BB – UCLA – full turn, slightly overturned – aerial, keeps arms moving to back tuck, some knee position in aerial – nice switch 1/2 to beat jump – side aerial, breaks connection to split jump – gainer tuck full dismount, holds the stick with a bit of a stagger. 9.850

Gerdes – Ub – Minnesota – maloney to bail is hit – good hs on high – FTDT, stuck with an arm wave to control. Pretty solid.

Blackson with a yfull on vault for Boise State, bounce back.

Campbell – BB – UCLA – bhs loso is hit, small hesitation on landing – side aerial, comfortable – full turn – split leap to switch 1/2, maybe a small check into beat jump – gainer full, nice height, stuck. 9.900

Stuck DLO for Jencks on bars.

Innes finishes floor for Washington with a 1.5 to layout, mostly controls the step forward – rudi, control step, some ragged leg position

Chiles – BB – UCLA – bhs loso loso series today, right on – switch to wolf jump, no trouble – side aerial, strong – doubel pike, nearly found the stick, chest forward, little hop. 9.925

Another stuck landing on bars for Minnesota from Remlinger. 9.875

Harris – BB – UCLA – bhs loso bhs, nicely done – switch to split leap, clear positions, full turn is smooth – side aerial, good extension – high 1.5, stuck landing. Excellent routine. 9.925

Sales fell on her bars dismount for Minnesota—I just looked over and saw her crawling along the mat—so they will need a hit from Hooten in the anchor spot.

Malabuyo – BB – UCLA – wolf turn single, nice – bhs loso, small check – aerial, another wobble – split jump to split ring to beat – bhs gainer full, slide back.  Still goes 9.900 with two checks, so they were here for this routine as well.

And Hooten hits a strong bars, another stuck dismount.

UCLA with another 49.500 rotation on beam. Frazier in exhibition.

Cunningham – FX – Washington – front tuck through to double tuck, chest forward, small  hop to present – switch 1/2 to wolf full to wolf full, nice height, just slightly under rotated on the last one – lost the feed before her final pass.

Minnesota 49.350 on bars after a 9.950 from Hooten.

Nguyen – FX – Washington – double tuck, large bounce back OOB – front full to front pike, also lands that one entirely OOB – switch 1/2 to switch ring 1/2 – double pike is solid.

So that will be 49.225 on floor for Washington.

Stanford came back to go 196.100 and beat San Jose State on 195.850.

Looks like we still have a floor exhibition for Washington that we’re waiting on here, and a judges conference for Nguyen’s score.

They settled on 9.500 for Nguyen, which I’m not sure how you get it that high with all the OOB, but it’s the dropped score.

After 2:
UCLA – 99.000
Minnesota – 98.425
Washington – 98.150
Boise State – 97.750

Rotation 3

Does the end of warmup time extend to Jordan Chiles dancing in the middle of the floor? Does she have to stop too?

Koch – BB – Minnesota – full turn, hit – bhs loso series is hit, knee bending – beat to split jump 3/4, solid, flexed feet – kickover to scale is solid and held for hours – 1.5 dismount, bounce forward. 9.800

McNamara – FX – UCLA – punch rudi to straddle jump, travel back – switch to switch side to wolf jump connection – back 1.5 to front lay, soft knees. 9.775

Brooks falls on vault for Washington.

Johnson for Minnesota has a barani on beam, solidly controlled.

Malabuyo – FX – UCLA – double tuck, controls her step back – back 1.5 to lay dance out, good position in layout – swtich 1/2 to switch 1/2, comfortable – double pike, controlled present, chest a bit forward. Nice one. 9.875

Minnesota has a fall from Hooten on beam on her straddle 3/4 in the third spot.

Harris – FX – UCLA – FTDT, secure landing, chest somewhat down – double tuck, same, good control on her step – split leap full to popa to shushunova, around – 1.5 to front 1/2 to double stag, under control. Good one, just some chest position and hip angle things. 9.925

Gerdes – BB – Minnesota – aerial, hit, knee bending – bhs loso, secure, feet – split to stag ring is good – bhs gainer full, step back

Frazier – FX – UCLA – whip through to double tuck, chest up, pretty much controlled on landing – split leap full to popa to popa looked more crooked this week, at least from this angle – double pike, controls her step. 9.925

Washington avoids counting the Brooks fall on vault and goes 49.125 there.

Rowray – BB – Minnesota – bhs loso, good amplitude and extension – switch to straddle 1/2, good split shown – kickover and falls – just way off line. MN counting a beam fall now.

Chiles – FX – UCLA – huge DLO, comfortable landing, chest up, controlled step – front tuck through to double tuck, no trouble there – split leap full to wolf full, good height – double pike, chest down, bounce back, stays in bounds. 9.925. She has gotten some Chiles bonus today on her beam dismount and final floor pass from those 9.950 judges. I don’t see 9.950 for that final pass here.

Campbell – FX – UCLA – FTDT, shorter landing today, chest forward, covers but should be a small deduction – split leap full to popa is nice – front lay to front full, controls the step – double tuck, strong. 9.950

Moraw saves her series on beam with a leg up wobble.

Boise State had two 9.9s and two falls on bars for a 48.275. Minnesota 48.450 on beam.

Lashbrooke floor exhibition.

UCLA 49.600 on floor to get over 198 pace, but vault to come, which we’d currently expect to be their lowest scoring event.

After 3:
UCLA – 148.600
Washington – 147.275
Minnesota – 146.875
Boise State – 146.025

We’ll see if Washington can hold onto 2nd with Minnesota going to floor. Would be a really strong result for them.

Rotation 4

Frazier – VT – UCLA – giant bounce back on yfull. 9.750, so did they only take for landing?

SKW – UB – Washington – piked jaeger to overshoot, hit – solid cast hs on high – blind to front giant 1/2 to double tuck, step back

Jencks twisted into the mat a little on her front 2/1 on floor but not too much movement. 9.850

Anyimi with an even larger bounce back on her yfull, nearly all the way into Janelle. 9.650.

Moody – UB – Washington – toe on to maloney to pak, solid, good legs – FTDT dismount, chest down, bounce forward

Lee – VT – UCLA – stays in the state, but still a bounce back on her yfull. 9.800

Johnson – FX – Minnesota – front full to lay 1/2, nice position –

Campbell – VT – UCLA – huge full as usual, has some trouble controlling it with chest forward to try to minimize and a slide back. 9.875

Oppegard – UB – Washington – pretty jaeger feet – some hip angle in bail – short cast hs on high – pretty stuck DLO.

Harris – VT – Y1.5, good position in the air, medium bounce forward. 9.900 with a .1 landing deduction.

Chiles – VT – UCLA – DTY, good height, easy completion, chest up, bounce back. 9.925

Brooks – UB – Washington – short first hs – shaposh to clear hip to bail, legs apart on bail – giant full, leg separation, late – into double tuck, nice stick.

39.725s for Chiles and Harris in the AA today. UCLA escapes with 49.250 on vault, the landings weren’t there but they basically got nothing but landings taken. Final score of 197.850 keeps up with what the top teams did this week.

Koch – BB – Minnesota – front 2/1 to front tuck, controlled step, some leg crossing – back lay full side pass – rudi, solid landing.

Russon catches her overshoot realllllly close to the bar but keeps going.

Good triple series for Loyim on beam for Boise State, following a 9.900 for Lopez. Side aerial, solid position, small check – hits switch to switch series – gainer full, holds landing, chest forward.

Remlinger – FX – Minnesota – FTDT, large bounce back OOB – switch side to popa, nice positions – back 1.5 to layout, pretty twisting in 1.5, didn’t rise into layout though – double tuck, controlled, chest slightly forward.

Popp keeps her real 2-foot layout on the beam, leg-up wobble.

Washington 49.275 on bars to end on a very strong 196.550.

Hooten – FX – Minnesota – FTDT, chest up, controls her step – switch side to popa, nice positions, overturns the switch side – front full to front pike, nice and high – double tuck, nice control there as well. 9.925

FINAL:
UCLA – 197.850
Washington – 196.550
Minnesota – 196.325
Boise State – 195.050

We’ll have two happy teams there in UCLA and Washington, exactly the kinds of scores they were looking for. Minnesota did improve on week one, and 196 is solid for them this year, but they also counted a beam fall at a meet where the scores were light and lofty and they could have taken advantage.

Meet back here for session 2.

Part B! Let’s see if the stream is a little less Sporfie this time. Now we have Cal, Iowa, Pitt, and Oregon State.

Cal will be looking for 197.675 today to pull back ahead of UCLA and Utah in Monday’s rankings.

Cal starts on vault, Iowa on bars, Oregon State on beam, and Pitt on floor. Cal has Casey Brown listed for the vault lineup today instead of Williams, who went in week 1.

Rotation 1

Zuhlke – UB – Iowa – Hirdorff, hit – solid pak, pak, clean – 1/2 turn on low – good vertical hs on on high, fiant full a bit late into a stuck double tuck. Nice start.

Li hits a solid yfull to leadoff for Cal, chest up this week, small movement back.

Winder finished up floor for Pitt with a front lay front full to front tuck, solidly controlled – double tuck, chest well down, bounce back.

Cesario – VT – Cal – nice height on yfull, a bigger vault than Li’s but a much larger bounce back.

Strong DLO from Masella to finish on bars for Iowa. Good leap positions in combination from Domingo for Oregon St on beam. Finishes gainer full, holds the stick, a little stagger.

DeSouza – VT – Cal – solid Y1.5, medium hop forward, a bit of direction. 9.900 seems high.

Pitt has a fall from Hutchison on her opening pass in the second position.

Rojas – UB  – Iowa – toe on – gienger, nice legs together position – a bit short on hs – bail, some leg break in the air – nice final cast hs on high – FTDT, a bit deep, bounce forward.

Lauzon – VT – Cal – lovely Y1.5 in the air, medium hop forward. Should get some reward compared to DeSouza for crisper form, but there’s not really room left to go because she hopped and DeSozua already got 9.900. But they found some room. 9.925

Frazier – VT – Cal – DTY, also much improved over week one, chest up, medium step back. Nice job.

Laplante – UB – Iowa – blind, rolls past hs,  to jaeger to overshoot, good amplitude – DLO, overdoes it some with a bounce back.

Brown – VT – Cal – she gets the Y1.5 to her feet, a pretty jarred landing though with a lunge back.

Gonzalez – BB – Oregon State – nice aerial to back tuck combo – cat leap to side aerial, pretty extension – switch 1/2, nice split position as far as switch 1/2s go, just a bit of foot position – front gainer full off the end, stuck. Really good one. 9.850

Cal drops Brown’s score and goes 49.450 on vault. That’s their highest vault score since March 2020 and just .050 shy of their program record.

McSweeney hits her piked jager to overshoot on bars – FTDT dismount, chest down with a hop forward.

Dagen – BB – Oregon St – bhs loso series, check – side aerial, covers with an arm wave – swtich 1/2 to pike jump, solid – 1.5 dismount, small hop forward.

Carey – BB – Oregon St – aerial, good, into bhs loso, securely landed – switch to switch 1/2, shy – gainer full, stuck landing.

Garvey – FX – Pitt – double pike, good height, small rebound back – switch 1/2 to wolf jump full, good lift on wolf and clear finish position – front lay to front full attempt, sits it down, so Pitt will be counting a fall on floor.

Carey goes 9.925 on beam to bring Oregon State to 49.325 and second place. Iowa goes 49.100 on bars.

Washington – FX – Pitt – double pike, nice control – split leap full to wolf full, split leap was under split – front lay to front full to kick – double tuck, chest up, slide back.

After 1:
Cal – 49.450
Oregon State – 49.325
Iowa – 49.100
Pitt – 48.550

Ward in exhibition for Pitt on floor, hits her front 2/1 with a crossover lunge – front full to layout, leg break and arches it around.

Rotation 2

Henderson – BB – Iowa – full turn, hit – bhs loso, solid extension – switch to straddle 1/4, secure, lost some back knee in the switch – round off double tuck dismount, bounce back

DeSouza – UB – Cal – blind to piked jaeger to overshoot, solid, good leg position – hits cast hs on high – FTDT, shuffle back with both feet

Ward – VT – Pitt – yfull – medium bounce back, good distance and direction.

Ebeling for Iowa on beam – arm wave correction on loso series – check on full turn – split jump to split ring jump, nice horizontal split work, a bit under closure on ring position – hits gainer pike dismount.

Stuck DLO on bars for Cesario from Cal. And she goes 9.925.

Miller started Oregon St off on floor with 9.900

Zuhlke is off beam on her bhs bhs loso series.

Perea – UB – Cal – good first hs – pretty pak – toe on to van leeuwen, legs together throughout – DLO, slide back.

Gonzales – FX – Oregon St – front full to front lay, good lay position – switch 1/2 to 1/2 sissone – double pike, controled step, just a little crunched –

Williams – UB – Cal – good first hs – maloney to pak, pretty – 1/2 turn on low bar, maybe a bit of body position – good hs on high – DLO, step back.

Pitt goes 48.775 on vault.

Letzsch finishes floor with 1.5 to a front tuck full that got very deep, landed in a squat, pulled it out

Li – UB – Cal – beautiful high pak, van leeuwen, clean, legs together – giant full, solid finish position to double tuck, stuck. Another nice one for her.

Rojas hits her punch front to beat jump on beam for Iowa, just somewhat deep on the tuck landing. Sticks gainer full dismount.

Frazier – UB – Cal – Really close toe on Tkatchev  – does the Pak, catches super close to the bar and does a hip circle.

So that will be 49.450 on bars for Cal to match vault. On pace to be very close to UCLA.

Dagen – FX – Oregon State – front 2/1, a bit stepping on landing to just pull it around – switch 1/2 to popa is solid – front lay to front full – double pike, lunge back, keeps it in bounds.

Kenlin finishes beam with a gainer full, small step back. So Iowa will be able to drop that fall.

Lauzon hit a solid exhibition on bars for Cal and could be forcing her way into that lineup.

Carey – FX – Oregon State – double double, little rebound slide back – switch 1/2 to popa, good height – front lay, loses some body position, through to double pike, controls it.

And she gets a 10. For that one?

48.850 beam for Iowa.

49.500 on floor for Oregon State to eat into Cal’s lead slightly.

After 2:
Cal – 98.900
Oregon State – 98.825
Iowa – 97.950
Pitt – 97.325

Rotation 3

DeSouza – BB – Cal – cat leap to aerial, step back to control – bhs loso series, secure landing – beat to sheep jump, hit – sissone – 1.5 dismount, good stick. 9.800

Garcia opens for OSU with a near stick on her yfull, not the most distance, good one –

Young – VT – Oregon St – larger rebound back on her yfull, and an extra step back to salute.

Super close Jaeger catch for Garvey on bars but works through it.

Nice clean yfull from Letzsch on vault, medium bounce back.

Williams falls on beam the second spot for Cal, off on her loso series.

Gonzales – VT – Oregon State – hop back on her ro full on back pike.

Dagen – VT – Oregon State – Y1.5 – nearly holds the stick, sort of a step salute. Good one.

Frazier – BB – Cal – full turn, slight adjustment – aerial, check – bhs loso series, small lean adjustment, so that looks like a viable backup plan for her to have an acro series – switch ring to split jump, elegant extension in those skills – 1.5 dismount, small hop. Checky but got a hit.

Carey – VT – small hop back on DTY, good one.

Ewing finishes on bars for Pitt with a solid giant full finish position into double tuck, hop back.

Carey gets another 10. But hi, she didn’t stick.

49.300 on vault for Oregon State.

Li hits aerial to split jump on beam – bhs loso series is on – beat to sheep jump – gainer tuck full dismount, holds the stick with a lean. 9.925.

Nice toe point from Pawlak on bars for Pitt.

Henderson – FX – Iowa – excellent amplitude on full in – little rebound – switch side to popa to straddle, good control of elements – front tuck through to double tuck, stuck landing. Nice one. 9.925

Lauzon with a pretty hit on beam for Cal, college stick lean salute step. 9.875

Moment of beam truth for Perea here in a must-hit position. Wolf double is solid – kickover to back tuck, moves quickly enough for credit – secure landing – switch to split, good feet, looked short on split jump position – side somi to tuck 1.5 dismount, and nailed it. She came through with that one.

Perea gets 9.900, so Cal drops the fall and goes 49.250 on beam after counting some checkier early routines. Falls off the UCLA pace now and just .025 ahead of Oregon State, though OSU still has to do bars.

After 3:
Cal – 148.150
Oregon St – 148.125
Iowa – 147.400
Pitt – 146.125

Cal will now be looking for 49.525 on floor to get the score needed to stay ahead of UCLA and Utah in the rankings. Especially given the way floor has been scoring today, that’s doable.

Rotation 4

Perea – FX – Cal – round off double tuck, slide back – double pike, larger slide back – 1.5 to layout final pass, slide forward. 9.800

Beeman – UB – Oregon St – clo0se catch opn jaeger – solid vertical cast hs – pak, hit – stalder to double tuck dismount, hop back. 9.825

Stuck Zuhlke from Zuhlke.

Weaver – UB – Oregon St – giant full to gienger, solid legs together – bail, good straight position, a bit corooked on catch – double tuck, shuffle back. 9.850

DeSouza – FX – Cal – punch rudi to double stag, good control – double tuck, controls step, chest down – switch side to wolf full, hit – is there a ghost cackling in this music? – back 1.5 to front full, a little under. 9.850

Bird – UB – Oregon St – shortish position on opening bail, struggles to get to handstand on cast – hits tkatchev on high – stalder, can’t get over and comes off.

Lauzon – FX – Cal – front 2/1 to front tuck, pretty – switch side to popa – back 1.5 to front full, also a little under but holds onto the landing without showing too much of a step. And gets 9.925

Duke off on her loso series on beam for Pitt.

Caso – UB – Oregon St – good first hs – maloney is clean, connected to pak, some body position – hits van leeuwen – clean hs – stalder, a bit late into double tuck and just collapses to the ground. So Oregon State counting a fall on bars now.

Li – FX – Cal – front 2/1 to stag, stag somewhat low – front full to layout is clean – switch 1/2 to wolf full, pretty – 9.925

Briones – UB – Oregon St – hits jaeger – pak, nice height – a bit short on cast hs on high – DLO, hop back.

Frazier – FX – Cal – DLO, controls landing, comfortable – split ring jump is nice – switch ring, looks like she got lost in her footwork and didn’t do another element – front tuck through to double tuck, bounce back – split ring full and adds on a split jump to have some dance combo.

Stuck FTDT dismount on bars from Carey. 9.850

Williams – FX – Cal – front lay to rudi, stuck landing, some soft knee form – switch 1/2 to split – double tuck, deep landing, in a squat with a lunge forward.

Copperwheat will finish it out on beam for Pitt – pretty switch and split combination – side somi, break, leg up wobble, keeps it on the beam – bhs loso, secure, a bit of knee softies – side aerial, bend at the hips – double tuck, wobble, also keeps it on – 1.5 dismount, small rebound in place.

Cal lost some steam there in the second half of the meet but still comes in with a second road 197.4 in as many weeks. Oregon State counted a fall on bars but also got…still a pretty good score.

FINAL:
Cal – 197.450
Oregon St – 196.850
Iowa – 196.575
Pitt – 193.650
