This is a good one. #analysis
#1 and #2 go against each other in the later time slot, but that’s hours from now. We might all be robots by then. To start things off, we have Florida on the road against Georgia. Technically, Florida is the favorite, but also Georgia has outscored Florida each of the last two weeks, and Florida’s road high is 197.100 while Georgia’s home low is 197.200. So…..what’s this going to be like?
Significantly for Florida. it’s National Skye Blakely AA Day. She’ll be on vault for the first time, with Blakely and Pilgrim in that lineup (so far, we’ll wait for the touch warmup) in place of Frazier and Disidore. DiCello is not in the AA today, with Clark returning on floor instead.
For Georgia, Holly Snyder is back for the first time in over a month, coming in on bars for Wahl and on beam for Tomlin. Brooke Pierson is also making her return to the vault lineup for the first time since the season opener, in place of Jaydah Battle.
Alex is on one today. This is the most important meet in history. The first time METROPLEX has been said with Super Bowl intonation.
Now he’s actually talking about the Super Bowl.
Rotation 1
Scott – VT – Georgia – yfull, gorgeously good. Stuck. I mean. 9.900 and it almost feels low.
Frazier – UB – Florida – good first hs – toe on to maloney to pak – 1/2 turn, a little past, just some borderline hs – DLO, leg separation, holds stick. 9.900 for that as well.
Moll – VT – Georgia – Y1.5 and lunges forward into the sea. Actual .2 lunge and then another big step after that. 9.625
Pilgrim – UB – Florida – hits hs – maloney, low but hit today into solid tkatchev, better amplitude there – pak – 1/2 turn on low a little past – short hs on high – FTDT, holds onto stick with small body position adjustment. 9.850
Wahl – VT – Georgia – Y1.5, clean and solid, good layout shape, small hop forward. 9.875
Blakely – UB – Florida – EEP goes over on her first hs – extra swing 1/2 to keep going – stalder tkatchev piked to pak, gets it back together – 1/2 turn on low – toe higgins to double front 1/2 out perfect stick.
Aquino – VT – Georgia – Tsuk 1/1 is solid, good open position at the end, smallish bounce back. 9.875
Long delay for the Blakely score. Judges are like DOES NOT COMPUTE. Original split was 9.500/9.750. Now 9.650 final.
DiCello – UB – Florida – hits first hs – Church very high into pak. nice and clean – good hs on low – van leeuwen, legs together – hits hs on high – FTDT, stuck. Excellent. 9.950
Williams – VT – Georgia – nearly had the landing on her Y1.5, comes in a little under, crossover step back and under-rotation deduction
Harris-Miranda – UB – Florida – Ray, good – hits hs – toe on to bail, legs together – maybe a little rushed on final hb handstand – DLO, good stick, pikes the first salto. “Does not pike down.” Anastasia on Jenny’s talking points.
Bacskay – VT – Georgia – solid stick on y1.5, some leg position softness, knee tucking throughout. Good. 9.925
Draser is replacing McCusker on bars. Boo. They’re like, we already have a 9.650, we can’t have a Riley.
Draser – UB – Florida – good hs – toe on to maloneuy, legs together, a little flat, into pak, good form – slightly late on 1/2 turn on low and high bar hs – DLO, piking, small step back. 9.825
Florida plays it safe there and eats a 9.825. You get it. You really get it. But I wonder what the decision would be if this were nationals. If you have an early miss, are you willing to eat a 9.825, or do you still put up Riley with the chance of a 9.950? Because if you still put up Riley in that situation, don’t you want to practice that now?
After 1
Florida 49.425
Georgia 49.375
Well, it’s already delivering because that was weird. Florida manages a small lead after 1, dropping the Blakely error but counting the medium-fine routine from Draser. DiCello’s routine the big highlight of that rotation. Super clean.
Georgia starts excellently with Scott’s vault. Also able to drop their miss routine. just a few more steppies in there, but a useful rotation.
Rotation 2
Draser – VT – Florida – pretty solid Y1.5, small hop forward, some knee position throughout, but a good one.
Bacskay – UB – Georgia – good first hs – pak, legs together – hits hs on low – toe on to van leeuwen, smooth – hits hs on high – giant full, good finish position, just a small hesitation, into double tuck, stuck. She has really improved. 9.900
Pilgrim – VT – Florida – into the lineup, hits her y1.5, bounce forward, a bit bigger than Draser on the bounce, knees as well. 9.850
Snyder – UB – Georgia – Church to overshoot, good amplitude – FTDT, solid foot position, also holds the stick, good. 9.900
DiCello – VT – Florida – Y1.5, also solid today, similar to the last two, hop forward, some soft knees throughout. 9.900
Woolford – UB – Georgia – hits hs on high – pak, lovely, excellent – toe on to van leeuwen, legs together – borderline hs on high – stalder to double tuck, flexed feet, holds stick with a small waver. 9.900
This team manager is all in, no reegrets
Blakely – VT – Florida – Lopez and it’s silly-easy for her – great distance and dynamics – small pike in the air and small hop pike. 9.875
Scott – UB – Georgia – Ray to Pak and victimized by having too much amplitude and turns into a raggedy ann in the middle of her pak and hits the ground – dismount is great. 9.250
Ferris – VT – Florida – good comfortable Y1.5, medium hop forward, knee position, improved dynamics over the earliest vaults in the lineup, otherwise basically the same
It’s Cowboy Hat night again at Georgia. Are we going to see Suzanne round up the cattle this year?
Alex asking Anastasia whether she got a Georgia cowboy hat. She’s like, bitch I went to Oklahoma.
Reingold – UB – Georgia – blind to piked jaeger, good – hits hs on high – pak, smoothly done – good toe point throughout – 1/2 turn on low – DLO, good stick. A couple borderline verticals? Otherwise not much. Very good. 9.925
Harris – VT – Florida – Y1.5, very strong stick. Solid. Usual small body position/knee deduction, not the most distance. Good one. 9.900
Smith – UB – Georgia – loose back position hesitation early, brings it back – Stalder to maloney to bail, legs extended well, kind of Nastia-sickles her feet in pointing toes but not a deduction – rushes hs on high, short of vertical – stalder to double tuck, holds stick. Good. 9.850.
After 2
Florida 98.850
Georgia 98.850
It’s tie day! Georgia slightly stronger than Florida on bars, gets four 9.9s in there, clean one, lots of sticks, able to drop the Scott miss. Florida comfortably solid on vault. Will need to stick more going forward, obviously, would have been very easy to keep almost all of those scores at 9.850.
Georgia’s student manager is running for Cory Tomlinson.
Rotation 3
Turner – BB – Georgia – full turn, slight hesitation – bhs loso loso and falls – Cecile, I was told you were the beam wizard, this has been less than wizard – switch combination is strong – 1.5 dmt, small hop forward. 9.050
G Disidore – FX – Florida – DLO, hit, not the very highest but secure, pikes down at the end – switch side to popa, comfortable – back 1.5 to front full, little bounce dance out. 9.850
Snyder – BB – Georgia – we missed the beginning, but we see bhs loso loso, hit securely, chest down – full turn – pretty and real beat jump, into switch 1/2 – 1.5 dmt, hop forward. 9.850
Ferris – FX – Florida – DLO, similar to Disidore, hit, pike down at the end, but Ferris had a slide back as well – switch side to popa – also showing attention to a clear landing position – back 1.5 to front full, pulls it around solidly, a little low on second element and small leg separation. 9.850
First couple Florida floor routines have shown improvement in their attention to clear dance combination landing position.
Woolford – BB – Georgia – wolf double, comfortable – bhs loso, nice execution in leg position – switch to split, good split positions – 2/1 dmt, hop back. 9.875
Frazier – FX – Florida – DLO, good height, better layout position, but a small leg separation and slide back – switch ring to switch 1/2 to straddle, excellent – front through to double tuck, no trouble this week. 9.900
Scott – BB – Georgia – full turn – bhs loso, excellent leg position, small waver correction – aerial, swings arms into split jump, more great positions, covered the hesitation in between elements but you could get tough on it – switch to split, yes – fhs rudi dismount, holds the stick. 9.900
Blakely – FX – Florida – double front to stag, great stag and height, some foot flexing and cowboy in double front – tour jete 1/2 to popa, around well – back 1.5 to front full, good twisting position, controls the step forward with some arm dance wave leans that were totally intentional you guys. 9.850
C Williams – BB – Georgia – bhs layout, high, very high, large wobble on landing, big leg up correction and lean to the side – side somi, hit – beat to straddle 3/4 is comfortable – gainer pike, stuck. 9.725, is kind of an escape from prison
Harris-Miranda – FX – Florida – FTDT is veryll short, just gets it to her feet but chest well down, bound forward – tour jete 1/2 to popa to shushunova, good – back 1.5 to front full, gets lowish on amplitude but OK. 9.750
Smith – BB – Georgia – aerial, hugggeeeee break, big lean forward – has to redo it for the combo, into back tuck, gets it the second time but another big deduction to count – cat leap to switch, nice – kickover pike, great in the air but a check on landing – gainer full, low amplitude but sticks. 9.675, also quite forgiving because there were a couple other things in addition to the .250-300 wobble.
Clark – FX – Florida – DLO, good height, like Frazier keeps a solid layout position but bounces back – tour jete 1/2 to popa, around, a little short of 180 on the tour jete – front tuck to double tuck, gooooood chest position and legs together, controls the landing – straddle. 9.850
After 3
Florida 148.150
Georgia 147.875
Georgia will be thanking their sweet Suzannes tonight that this rotation somehow magically ended up above 49 with three misses (essentially). Florida takes over the lead with a hit floor but it’s still kind of close. Florida didn’t count any big errors, just a lot of little bounces that kept most of them out of the 9.9s.
Rotation 4
Draser – BB – Florida – bhs loso, secure, slightly soft knee, hit – switch, a little slow but gets it into switch 1/2, under split – full turn – 1.5 dmt hop forward. 9.850
E Williams – FX – Georgia – double pike, good leg position, controls step back, chest down – switch side, overturns a little into popa – front lay to front full, under control, ankles crossed at the end of the twist – double tuck, short, chest down, step forward. 9.725
Arana – BB – Florida – bhs loso, secure landing, good leg position, chest slightly down – aerial, pulls it out, came in slightly under but covered, no check – switch, a little slow into switch 1/2, great save as her foot kind of slipped off on landing, but just a minor adjustment – gainer full, back on her heels but holds the stick. Several really nice covers and saves there to avoid deductions. Good presence. 9.875
Wahl – FX – Georgia – FTDT, very good chest position and control on landing, small leg separation in the air – front tuck through to double tuck, same notes, good – 1.5 turn – tour jete 1/2 to popa, around. 9.900
Blakely – BB – Florida – wolf triple, comfortable – aerial, little knee position and a wobble, no connection – switch 1/2, good position again but small shoulder dip into beat – front aerial, now connects into bhs for an acro series – wolf jump – gainer full, solid stick. 9.850, well at least they’re consistent that breaking your acro series isn’t a big deal.
Tomlin – FX – Georgia – double arabian to stag, travels way forward on stag, lack of control, does keep it in bounds, and really nice leg position in double front – switch 1/2, a little over-turned into popa – front loso to double tuck, big bounce back again, maybe looked OOB but there was a literal rubber duck in the way.
College gymnastics: I can’t tell if she went OOB because there was a rubber duck in the way.
9.825, no OOB taken.
Frazier – BB – Florida – full turn – aerial, keeps moving arms into loso – split jump to split ring jump, nice – thought she would have the stick on dmt, ends up stepping forward. 9.850
Aquino – FX – Georgia – DLO, very nice control – front tuck through to double tuck, also controls the landing, slight leg separation/foot position in the air – switch 1/2 to a very high wolf full – straddle jump. 9.925 and the crowd is booing its lowness. LOL.
DiCello – BB – Florida – candle mount is past vertical, quick drop out of it onto her hips – wolf double, hit – switch to split, comfortable – bhs loso, no trouble, good – aerial is solid today – bhs loso, good stick and height, some soft knees. 9.900. Cool that you can just plop your candle mount onto the beam and it’s fine.
C Williams – FX – Georgia – DLO, great position in the air, nice height, slide back on landing – switch side, over-turns a little, into popa – front tuck through to double tuck, good chest up position and control. 9.875
“I wish I could go back to freshman year because you really learn who you’re made of.” Who?
Harris – BB – Florida – bhs loso bhs is comfortable, good hit – switch to straddle 1/4, solid – smooth full turn – 1.5 dmt, nice stick. 9.950
Smith – FX – Georgia – front 2/1 to front tuck, shows control – backward acro in between the passes to fulfill the requirement – switch side to wolf full, over turns by a quarter – rudi to straddle jump, hit. 9.925
FINAL
Florida 197.575
Georgia 197.325
Georgia’s beam rotation decided the result here, with a fall and two other major wobbles, while Florida didn’t have mistakes of the same size. Florida takes the win, doesn’t count any misses. Very funny to me that they ended up with the same total score as last week when they botched vault.
Anyway, Morgan Price just got Arkansas’s first10 for sticking her Y1.5. Mummified hips don’t stop 10s. So at least we don’t have to talk about how they’ve never had a 10 anymore. Pour one out for Kat Grable’s floor in the meantime.
LSU with no McClain listed for beam or Lincoln listed for floor.
Brie Clark gets 9.975 on floor for Clemson, which is their first one of those on floor
Oklahoma v LSU
Rotation 1
Blessey – VT – Oklahoma – handspring pike 1/2, very good one, holds the stick, solid, much better knee position, improved the tucking at the end, better is still a deduction. Slight foot movement on replay.
Oh, it’s a 9.975 to start the meet.
John forgets that Reyna Guggino got a leadoff vault 10 that time. But that’s the only one.
Zeiss – UB – LSU – small back position moment in first hs – hits maloney to pak, solid, legs together on pak – past vertical in 1/2 turn on low – FTDT, some foot flexing, small shuffle with left foot. 9.850
Pederson – VT – Oklahoma – Y1.5, some leg separation on block, step forward. 9.900 with a one tenth step, so…gird thyself.
Cowan – UB – LSU – tight first hs – ray to overshoot is very strong – DLO, holds the stick. Just a couple short handstands, good value elements. 9.900
Torrez – VT – Oklahoma – Y1.5 is flat on the block today, didn’t get the repulsion, gets it to her feet but under rotated with hop back. 9.850
Ulrich – UB – LSU – toe on to maloney to pak, comfortable, small leg separation – past vertical on 1/2 turn on low – also shorter on some handstands – DLO, nice flight, holds the stick
Estep – VT – Oklahoma – Y1.5, solid, little hop forward, bit of knee position, good. 9.900
Chio – UB – LSU – nice first hs – maloney to bail, legs together well, good feet – hits hs on high – blind to khorkina, a little close but solid – shorter hs – FTDT, some feet, good stick. 9.925
Mueller – VT – Oklahoma – Y1.5, also didn’t get quite the block, but works it out, still gets the distance, but not the highest and a step forward. 9.875. Steps are the only thing.
Blackson – UB – LSU – arches the first hs on high, pulls it back, good save – bail, nice vertical – short hs on high – blind to khorkina, great flight – but not quite there on cast positions – DLO, little pike and a small shuffle on landing and then more. Props for actually trying to show the finish position but it did make her have an arm wave and another deduction.
Fatta – VT – Oklahoma – hits her Y1.5 solidly, another small hop forward, slight position deduction. 9.925
Jeffrey – UB – LSU – so no McClain at all – short hs =- toe on to maloney to bail, legs together and toes pointed but a little past vertical – FTDT is high, the usual squat to absorb but not the most extreme version. 9.850
They tell us McClain bonked her elbow on her Church and so is out.
After 1
Oklahoma 49.575
LSU 49.425
Oklahoma sticks one vault and goes 49.575, so it’s that kind of night. Settle in. LSU counts a couple 9.8s so goes 49.425. Looked just a little tight, not attacking all of those handstands. Solid rotation but not the casts they’ll want in the postseason.
Meanwhile, the basketball boys had to get into a fight with each other to show how BOYS they are, so ESPN2 still hasn’t even switched over to the meet yet. This is why men ruin everything. Like, if you would stop punching each other for a second, the world could enjoy Kailin Chio.
Rotation 2
Zeiss – VT – LSU – Y1.5, solid, hop forward, small leg separation and more significant knee bend. 9.850
Pederson – UB – Oklahoma – good hs – Ray, nice – hits hs on high – toe on to pak, smooth, good legs together – stays vertical on 1/2 turn on low, just a little slow – hits hs on high – DLO, stuck. Nice.
Only starts with 9.950, which isn’t even a leadoff 9.975, so…deficient?
Blockson – VT – LSU – Y1.5 tucked, but she didn’t mean to tuck it, short landing and a lunge back to try to land it, very crunched on block. 9.775 is forgiving for a big error
Murphy – UB – Oklahoma – good hs on low – toe on to maloney to pak, lovely foot position, small leg separation – a little farther past vertical on 1/.2 turn on low bar – giant full, past, into double tuck, lovely, nice stick. 9.900
Roberts – VT – LSU – handspring pike 1/2, very good amplitude, bounce back. 9.850
Scheible – UB – Oklahoma – I want to know everything about this eye ulcer – short first hs – blind to jaeger, good pointed toes – some back position in handstand – good legs together in bail – short hs on high – FTDT, good feet, step back. More things to deduct on that one. 9.775
Lincoln – VT – LSU – Y1.5, high, good landing, little adjustment forward. 9.950 without a stick.
Fatta – UB – Oklahoma – Church to pak is well done, good amplitude and control – hits hs on high bar – DLO, some piking, good stick. 9.950 to counter.
Drayton – VT – LSU – Y1.5, good height but she comes up short, under-rotation with a hop back. 9.825
Estep – UB – Oklahoma – tkatchev, hit, a little low – solid hs on high – bail, legs together well, good toe point – hits hs on high – giant full to FTDT, small leg separation, small step back. 9.875
Chio – VT – LSU – Y1.5, very strong stick, a little stagger in the legs on stick but holds it.
And it’s a 10.000. Not the best vault she’s done, but compared to the other vaults today that have gone 9.950…you had to reward this one I guess?
Torrez – UB – Oklahoma – Ray, high but catches a little close – toe on to pak, leg separation, good height – solid hs on high – DLO, legs a little apart – good stick. 9.925
After 2
Oklahoma 99.175
LSU 98.900
You know, like how scores go? Oklahoma extends the lead a little. A clean bars, well executed, more sticks than on vault. LSU goes 49.475 on vault, saved by Chio as well as just the overall vault scoring today because a couple missed landings really could have brought that score down.
KJ miced up is an entire experience. Let’s just watch that for days. “I need to pay you more money.”
Rotation 3
Fatta – BB – Oklahoma – bhs loso, solid landing – side aerial, hit – hitch kick to switch side, a little crooked in split position – full turn – switch to split, hit – bhs loso, some knee, stuck. 9.90
Innes – FX – LSU – front 2/1, good lift, slide forward – 1.5 to front lay, like the lift out of that into the second element, good amplitude – tour jete 1/2 to popa was short, very under split – rudi to double stag, slight lack of control. 9.850, would like to see them deduct that dance combination more
Estep – BB – Oklahoma – full turn, hit – bhs loso with a bigger wobble, lean and an arm wave – switch to straddle 1/4, another check smaller – cat leap side aerial is nice – 1.5 dmt, step forward. Still gets 9.800.
Ballou – FX – LSU – DLO, good stuck landing, pikes down second salto – switch side, over turns some into wolf full – front lay to rudi, another landing with solid control again. 9.850
Murphy – BB – Oklahoma – candle mount, solid good feet – bhs loso, extended well, comfortable landing – aerial, hit – full turn, check – beat to split ring jump, another check – gainer full, nice stick. 9.875
Coen – FX – LSU – rudi, slightly under-twisted with a crossover step but not large – front lay to front full, a little tucking, controls the landing – tour jete 1/2 to popa to popa, her biggest improvement in the leaps, that was solid. 9.850
Pederson – BB – Oklahoma – full turn, assured – bhs loso, right on, solid extension – side somi, nice control – hitch kick to switch side, tighter, short of straddle – 2/1, high, step back. Uh oh. KJ needs to pay her more money. 9.900 with a one tenth step
Drayton – FX – LSU – DLO, very good height, controls the landing well – a little more pike than her usual to get that control – switch ring to switch 1/2 is perfection – front tuck through to double tuck, gets it to solid chest position. 9.925
Mueller – BB – Oklahoma – candle mount is good – full turn, solid – bhs loso, good – side aerial, small adjustment on landing – switch to straddle 1/4, best straddle position of the bunch, another slight hesitation – 1.5 dmt with a Maggie Nichols stick. 9.950. I had two checks.
Chio – FX – LSU – FTDT, hit, slight lack of control in hip movement backward but doesn’t move the full front foot – switch ring to tour jete 1/2, around, comfortable, just a little flat footed between the elements – 2.5 to front tuck, very strong – switch. 9.925
Torrez – BB – Oklahoma – wolf jump, high – side aerial to loso, wobble – full turn, styles out the leg – switch to straddle, small check – gainer full, high, back on her heels but holds it well
Zeiss – FX – LSU – back 1/2 to rudi is hit, flat, took it into the corner with some knee position deduction – switch full, lands under rotation, into a cover-stag – back 1.5 to front lay is pretty strong. 9.925. Isn’t it fun to be the anchor?
John asks Bridget if she had ever been thrown into a lineup at the last minute. She’s like, pssssh as if I would ever be the alternate. But also, Beijing qualification? Like, very famously when Peszek got hurt in the warmup gym and then you had to do beam and floor?
After 3
Oklahoma 148.675
LSU 148.375
Huge scores for both. Kind of felt like neither of the teams were THAT on, it’s just…this is a big deal meet so 198! Oklahoma lovely execution, so little built in to take, but checkier than they wanted to be. Little hesitations from most of them. LSU missing some of their best floor workers, some trouble on dance elements and layout positions. A very 9.825 rotation.
Rotation 4
Coen – BB – LSU – aerial to beat jump solid – bhs loso, pulls it out, chest down, no wobble – switch to split, hit, good one – 2/1 good stick, some crossed legs. 9.875
Pederson – FX – Oklahoma – front 2/1, controls the step out – back 1.5 through to 2/1, quick dance out step back – switch side and a little over-turn into popa and wolf full. Solid. Some soft knees but I think her strongest this year. 9.900
Innes – BB – LSU – full turn – aerial to bhs, hit, good back foot pointed in bhs – cat leap to side aerial, hit – switch to straddle 1/4, a little tight on switch, better on straddle, holds it – 1.5 dmt, great stick. 9.900
OMG A FOOTBALL PLAYER IS HERE THIS IS IMPORTANT NEWS TO SAY THROUGH A FLOOR ROUTINE
Murphy – FX – Oklahoma – front tuck through to double tuck, good feet, slide back – switch 1/2, overturns slightly as well, into wolf full – back 1.5 to lay, hit – switch full, good job rotating that one. 9.900
Drayton – BB – LSU – switch 1/2, good, holds onto it – bhs loso, excellent height and back leg position – switch to split – 2/1, bounce back. 9.850.
Everything is landing control
Estep – FX – Oklahoma – front lay to front 2/1, good rise, slight crossover step but looked controlled – switch 1/2 to wolf full to double stag, some arm controlling during the combo – back 2.5, good rise, controls the step out – 9.875
Lincoln – BB – LSU – aerial to bhs, keeps moving sloowwwwwly but keeps moving to get the combo – switch 1/2 to beat, switch 1/2 is phenomenal – full turn – switch to split jump – 1.5, stuck. That was the one. 9.925
OK, stick celebrations are over. We’re done. We’re not doing that anymore.
Fatta – FX – Oklahoma – front full through to 2/1, quick hop to present, slight knee position – tour jete 1/2 to popa, good clear completion – front 2/1, slightly under rotated, dances it around – 9.875
Chio – BB – LSU – bhs mount, excellent – bhs loso, good foot position, comfortable landing – aerial to split jump, comfortable, good – switch to split, also hit – 1.5 dmt, stuck. Very good. And Chio gets another 10.000.
39.850 AA.
Mueller – FX – Oklahoma – front tuck through to double tuck, chest up, good – front lay to rudi, good rise into the rudi, high than the lay, but also a little under rotated with a small control bounce – tour jete 1/2 to popa, good – 9.900
Ulrich – BB – LSU – bhs loso, secure, good back foot – full turn – hitch kick to switch side, just gets to horizontal I think – aerial to beat jump, smooth – 1.5, tries to hold the stick, ends up leaning forward arm circle with a hop forward. 9.825
That Drayton-Lincoln-Chio run on beam was LSU’s best part of the meet.
Pawlak – FX – Oklahoma – double pike, good leg position, chest up – switch 1/2 to wolf full, good – back 1.5 to front full is a big struggle, tucks it, lands short, big lunge to the side
FINAL
Oklahoma 198.125
LSU 197.925
Oklahoma takes it by a smidge. Good finish from LSU. Definitely the most complete performance I’ve seen from them this season. Rotation 4 was the first rotation of the meet where they looked comparatively stronger than Oklahoma, who overall had fewer built-in execution moments, even though all the scores were pretty wild. What LSU will take is that these were not the A+ lineup options everywhere and they were still very close.
