About
OK well, first of all, we have to talk about how the updated code drawings for 2025 have this mount beginning with a disembodied leg.

So you start by taking your leg off…
That might actually be easier than this mount.
Croatia’s Tina Erceg is a down-in-history kind of legend because of her commitment to performing the intensely difficult Arabian mount on beam. She first tried to get this skill named after herself in her senior worlds debut in 2003 in Anaheim but fell on her qualification attempt. She ultimately did hit it at the 2006 World Championship in Aarhus and went on to continue performing it through the 2008 Olympics.
(After that, she decided she had put in her time and went for the simple jump up to the beam, and who can blame her. Let she who has not mounted with an Arabian cast the first stone.)
The skill was originally given an F (0.6) value, but it was upgraded to a G (0.7) in 2013 to reflect the fact that it’s, you know, an Arabian as a beam mount. It is one of only two beam mounts with a G rating, the other being the back layout with full twist.
