Bless us all in this time of overstimulation.

We’ll start with the day sessions for the lower-ranked teams in their various conferences.

Up first, Penn State, Ohio State, and Iowa are still potentially in the mix for regional seedings, but we won’t know if they actually are until we get the results for Cal, Clemson, and Auburn later. So still kind of blind there. More of the details here.

Pitt’s result in ACC session 1 is the most pressing because they have a clear Make It Or Break It: 195.650 and they’re definitely in.

SEC Session 1 is mostly for Rivalry Grrrr Things, but there are still a lot of regional seeding moving parts that these scores will have significant influence on. We just won’t really be able to parse that until everything is over. Because there’s a bye rotation at this one again (sigh), I like the desktop version of virtius since you can clearly see the rotations and who’s on a bye when.

Meanwhile the scores for Big Tens are coming in via raven.

Day Sessions

Big Ten Session 2

Leary – VT – Penn St – very strong stick on yfull, just a bit of soft legs and leg separation and pike. 9.775. Let’s keep that scoring energy.

Dean Linke representing the Big Ten heritage by pronouncing it “Maygie Ball.”

Ball – BB – Iowa – hits candle mount – bhs loso, holds it, a bit of feet – split to straddle 1/2 – gainer full, hop back. Some foot positions but secure

Saville – UB – Maryland – toe on to maloney, leg sep. connects to pak – small angle in 1/2 turn on low – a little back position in hs – DLO, step forward

Guevara – FX – Ohio St – very solid 1.5 to front full – switch side 1/2 to popa – back 1.5 to loso, controls it, some soft legs in twist

Latronica – VT – Penn St – yfull, solid dynamics, bigger bounce back – 9.750

Rojas – BB – Iowa – nice style before full turn, chest – hits loso series – lean forward on split 3/4 – good stick gainer full

Bingham – UB – Maryland – short hs – clear hip – hits tkatchev, good height, flexed feet – leg separation and short of vertical on bail – strong final hs – DLO, hop back

Kaempfer – VT – Penn St – y1.5 is landed, somewhat short with hop back and knees. 9.725

Belman – FX – Ohio St – good height on double pike, meaning fully out of shot – front full to lay, under control – tour jete 1/2 to popa, good positions, step back out of it – double tuck, a little deep but holds control

Tyson – BB – Iowa – full turn, smooth choreo out – bhs bhs loso, hit – split to straddle 1/4, solid control – 1.5 dmt, a little low, hop forward

Ruffing – UB – Maryland – jaeger to overshoot, hit – closer hs on high – DLO, hop back

Cash – VT – Penn St – nice stick on yfull, good distance, slight pike

Smith – FX – Ohio St – double pike, lands under control – switch 1/2 to popa, pulls it around – wolf double, also around – front pike to double tuck. chest down step forward

Tran – BB – Iowa – aerial to loso, smooth – switch to switch 1/2 to beat, a little back leg shortness, secure elements – full turn, little check – nice stick on gainer pike.

Reade – UB – Maryland – hits gienger with some form on catch, is able to connect to overshoot, close and kind of off rhythm but works through it – DLO, some leg separation, step back

Johanson – VT – Penn St – yfull, solid, small hop back, some pike, similar to others.

Uh oh, Cash stuck but then Johanson didn’t. Might sticks be…not contagious??????

Grimes – FX – Ohio St – double pike, pulls it out, chest a little forward, quick hop to present – 1.5 to layout, clean layout position – switch 1/2 to wolf full are both short of leg position, so should get a couple deductions there – double tuck, bounce back

Turner – BB – Iowa – hits candle mount – gainer bhs bhs loso, nice – switch to split, very nice split positions – 1.5 dmt, hop forward

Dennis – UB – Maryland – rushes first hs – blind to piked jager to overshoot is solid – toe pike 1/2, chest down, hop back

Piedrahita – VT – Penn St – Omelianchik very good, strong amplitude and maintains pike position, small hop forward

Vetter – FX – Ohio St – double tuck is very good, chest up, controls step back – tour jete 1/2 to popa to popa is around clearly – lay to rudi, hit securely as well, a little softer position

Schriever – BB – Iowa – full turn, comfortable – bhs loso. step back wobble to control – switch to switch, long pause before but hit – gainer full, stuck

Komoroski – UB – Maryland – jaeger, good foot position – pak, small leg sep – short hs on high – DLO is a big struggle, piking and deep landing, large lunge forward, near knee down

Coleman – FX – Ohio St – FTDT, strong landing, under control, chest up, small shin separation moment – switch side, so high, to popa, so high she had to arm control the switch side – side somi – front tuck through to double tuck, controls the step back. Very strong, A couple things, great tumbling. Very Mya Hooten. One judge went 10, which is excessive for that one.

After 1
Ohio State 49.400
Iowa 49.275
Penn State 48.950
Maryland 48.550

Strong first rotations for Ohio State and Iowa. Penn State solid on vault, but, you know, yfulls. Scoring also not as loose there. Maryland with some issues on bars as Reade and Komoroski finished with half-misses and no one had 9.8s before that.

Rotation 2

Grimes – VT – Ohio St – yfull, good distance, pretty big bounce back

Johanson – UB – Penn St – hits first hs – toe on to tkatchev, close but hit – rushes hs on high – pak, hit – 1/2 turn after vertical on cast on low – hits hs on high – DLO, good height, small leg sep, bounce up in place.

Bingham – BB – Maryland – hits loso series – cat leap to side aerial, little lean check – beat to split jump 3/4, pretty far under split – 1.5, hop forward

Tran – FX – Iowa – rudi to loso under control, good legs in loso – switch ring 1/2, and it’s real – front lay to front full, quick dance out – switch ring is correct, into tour jete 1/2. Excellent.

Pomager – VT – Ohio St – yfull, strong stick, good hip position

Reade – BB – Maryland – bhs loso, solid – switch 1/2, under split – full turn – switch to pike jump, leg sep – 1.5 dmt, step forward

Monahan – UB =- Penn St – good hs – toe on to maloney to pak, lacked some back swing in maloney but through it – FTDT, some legs, slide back –

Turner – FX – Iowa – wolf double is around and a little more – double pike, good height, chest forward – switch 1/2 to popa popa is around – back 1.5 to layout, has to tuck around the layout, not enough amplitude

Smith – VT – Ohio St – y1.5, medium bounce forward

Engelmayer – BB – Maryland – best to split ring, secure, a little under split – bhs loso, secure, slight knee softness – full turn, arm correction – holds the side aerial 2 feet, secure – side aerial 1.5 dmt, step back

Leary – UB – Penn St – good first hs – high jaeger to overshoot, legs together – solid hs on high – giant full, a little past, into double tuck, good stick

Tyson – FX – Iowa – rudi to loso, I think stayed in bounds but the visuals of the extra mat made it look odd – good straddle position – front 2/1 lacks control, bounce slide forward – switch 1/2 to wolf full is well completed –

Martin – VT – Ohio St – y1.5 is strong, nearly holds the stick with an arm circle quiver, good distance

Piedrahita – UB – Penn St – good fhs – toe on to maloney to pak, nice pak position – a bit of angle on 1/2 turn on low – shorter hs on high – FTDT, small slide back.

Defrees – BB – Maryland – bhs loso wobble, step back and turn to the side correction – side aerial, hit – cat leap to switch side, angled split with a waver – 2/1, legs apart, hop back

Schriever – FX – Iowa – double pike, good position, controls step back, chest slightly forward – back 1/2 to rudi, same, does well to control the step – switch 1/2 to wolf full wolf full, a little out of control

Vetter – VT – Ohio St – yfull, good position and power, bounce back

Cash – UB – Penn St – blind to piked jaeger, good height – hits hs on high – bail, legs together – good hs on high – giant full a little past, into double tuck, arm circle and a step back

Dennis – BB – Maryland – bhs loso solid – aerial, knee, wobble afterward, lean to the side – split to sheep, short back leg on split, little check – gainer full, hop back

Coleman – VT – Ohio St – yfull, good height and open position, bounce back

Henderson – FX – Iowa – bounces back on FTDT – switch side to popa popa – front tuck through to double tuck, chest down, controls the step back

Latronica – UB – Penn St – little hesitation to start – piked jaeger, hit – bail, legs together, gets hs well – solid hs on high – toe on to toe pike 1/2, great height, some leg sep, good stick, chest up

Komoroski – BB – Maryland – bhs loso, hits securely – aerial, small waver, good front knee position there – switch to split, hit, good toe – 1.5 dmt, hop forward

DePaola – FX – Iowa – front 2/1 to stag, under control well, some leg crossing in 2/1 – rudi to loso, solid – tour jete 1/2 to popa well completed, clearly around

After 2
Iowa 98.600
Ohio State 98.425
Penn State 98.050
Maryland 97.250

Iowa takes advantage of floor to move ahead, but we’ll see how they get through vault. We’ve seen just one vault hit 9.850 so far.

Rotation 3

Masella – VT – Iowa – yfull lands chest down and has to step forward

Pomager – UB – Ohio St – toe on to maloney with pak, small leg seps on everything – 1/2 turn on low – giant full to double tuck, good stick

Monahan – BB – Penn St – kickover to korbut, smooth connection – wolf jump, hit – full turn – straddle 3/4, holds it – 1.5 dmt, little hop

DeFrees – FX – Maryland – double tuck, chest up, controls the step – front lay front full, also looked under control – switch to switch side 1/2 to straddle, short on switch good straddles

DePaola – VT – Iowa – yfull, had the chest up, but a hop back

Berry – UB – Ohio St – maloney to pak. very nice form – 1/2 turn on low, past vertical, sort of drops out of it – toe on and goes over on hs on high bar and falls

Maul – BB – bhs bhs loso, wobble turn to the side out of it – full turn – switch, split 3/4, secure hit, a little low – 1.5 dismount, holds onto the stick with an arm circle.

Turner – VT – Iowa – way short on y1.5 and sits it down, so they’ll have to count Masella’s.

Mendez-Abolnik – FX – Maryland – FTDT, lunge back, keeps it in bounds – switch side to popas, rushes around the last popa a little out of control – bhs bhs loso, pulls it out – bounces out of a front full as well

McElligott – BB – Penn St – pulls out the landing on 3 series, knees and a check – switch to straddle 1/4 is hit – 1.5 dmt, holds stick

Rader – UB – Ohio St – good hs – toe on to maloney to pak, good height – crooked 1/2 turn on low, works through it – solid toe point on high – DLO, step back

Tran – VT – Iowa – yfull is clean and solid, small hop back, little pike at the end

Leary – BB – Penn St – bhs loso loso – holds onto it, similar with some soft knees, small check on landing, a bit more secure than mcelligott’s – split jump to sheep, good, better hip angle on sheep than some others we’ve seen this weekend – 1.5 dmt, hop forward

Schriever – VT – Iowa – ro full on back pike is solid, bounce back, some chest position but not bad for a full-on –

Vetter – UB – Ohio St – great height on tkatchev, some feoot position – clear hip to bail, legs together, piking – nice hs on high – FTDT, excellent stick

Kramer – BB – Penn St – full turn, check – bhs loso, secure landing – cat leap to kickover is very good, super solid – split to split 3/4, way under split and then also falls – punch front tuck full dmt, hop forward

Komoroski – FX – Maryland – rudi, chest down, hop the side – finishes back 1.5 to 1/2 to straddle, nice straddle position but travels back some

Henderson – VT – Iowa – yfull, good height, larger bounce back

Jackson – UB – Ohio St – pak, high, some hyper-loose back but hit – van leeuwen, small leg break to start – DLO, pikes down at the end, hop forward

Rech – FX – Maryland – front 2/1, slightly under rotated this time, crossover step – double tuck, high, chest up well, bounce back – tour jete 1/2 to wolf full, pulls around landing position, somewhat shy on split – back 1.5 to lay, dance bounce out into the corner but stays in

Latronica – BB – Penn St – aerial to beat, smooth, just some bent front knee in aerial – bhs loso, hit well – full turn, hit – split jump to double stag, white knocking it slightly but keeping secure – gainer full, stick

Coleman – UB – Ohio St – piked jaeger to overshoot, hit, leg form deductions on both – hits hs on high – FTDT, good height, step back

Reade – FX – Maryland – ro DLO, basically stuck, sells it with chest forward – switch 1/2 to wolf 1.5, pulls it around to show rotation, would love to see the wolf position held longer- front lay to front 1/1, hit

After 3
Iowa 147.475
Ohio State 147.350
Penn State 146.875
Maryland 146.325

A rotation of surviving. Iowa got 48ed on vault but Ohio State was pretty 9.7s on bars so couldn’t re-take the lead. As was Penn State on beam to stay further back, but they do get to finish on floor.

My broadcast has been almost exclusively local commercials for rehab “spas” which feels very accurate for college gymnastics.

Rotation 4

Henderson – UB – – Iowa – toe on to maloney, leg seps into bail combo – small arch on high bar hs, pulls it back – FTDT, hop back

Kogler – VT – Maryland – solid yfull, near stick, little bounce up, some pike

Leary – FX – Penn St – front 2/1 to front tuck, hit, leg crossing – back 1.5 to lay is very good, nice positions

Guevara – BB – Ohio St – full turn, check – bhs loso, secure – cat leap to switch 1/2 under split, secure – 2/1, holds stick, foot crossing

Masella – UB – Iowa – shiort hs on high – blind to jaeger to overshoot, good amplitude – short hs on high – DLO, nice position, hop back

Engelmayer good stick on yfull.

Monahan – FX – Penn St – front 2/1 – tour jete 1/2 to wolf full wolf full, all under split – front lay to front full, hit

Jackson – BB – Ohio St – switch to split, a little under on back leg – aerial to korbut, smooth connection – switch sissone is excellent – full turn check – side aerial 1.5 dmt, back on her heels but holds on to the stick

Reade – VT – Maryland – yfull, step back, clearly her

Turner – UB – Iowa – nice position on m,aloney to pak – DLO, a little whippy but a good stick

Misiura – FX – Penn St – wolf double, around – front 2/1, good height, clearer rotation than most of them today – front lay to front full holds onto it

Smith – BB – Ohio St – wolf double is comfortably done – kickover, a little slow into bhs but will get it, maybe with a rhythm deduction – just a little tight in straddles – gainer full, stuck

Schriever – UB – Iowa – maloney to pak, good height – van leeuwen, hit – shome short hs – toe pike 1/2 dmt, hop back

Rech – VT – Maryland – yfull solid, small step back, small pike

Martin – BB – Ohio St – bhs loso, good control – side aerial, brings foot through in check – switch to split, pretty solid – 1.5 dmt, hop forward

McElligott finishes floor with 1.5 to layout, dance out, small leg separation

Buckmon – VT – Maryland – yfull, funny hold onto the stick, big lean forward but didn’t move the toes

Bowles – UB – Iowa – high ray into overshoot – giant full, late into double tuck, hop back

Vetter – BB – Ohio St – beat jump to side aerial, very good – switch, check before straddle 1/4, they could deny series if they want – gainer full, stuck

Johanson – FX – Penn St – bounce back on double pike – very nice 1.5 to 1/2, straight position, under control

Mendez-Abolnik – VT – Maryland – y1.5 hit, hop to the side, some knees

Tran – UB – Iowa – good first hs – maloney to pak, legs together well – nice hs on low – van leeuwen, hit – DLO, stuck. Excellent.

Liv is confused by Vetter’s 9.650 score but she didn’t see the broken leap connection.

Kramer – FX – front 2/1, nice control – realllly struggles with the tour jete 1/2 into wolf fulls, out of control and doesn’t get to position – rudi to loso is quite nice.

So we’ll wait on the scores to see what happened in this meet.

Tran goes 9.950 on bars to finish for Iowa with 196.700.

McCann – BB – Ohio St – falls on layout 2 foot series

FINAL
Iowa 196.700
Ohio State 196.250
Penn State 196.000
Maryland 195.300

Unlikely to hold up but a very good score for Iowa. Not enough to move ahead of Ohio State in the rankings, but Penn State falls behind both Ohio State and Iowa. Good sign for Kentucky that Ohio State and Penn State didn’t get huge bumbers.

Pitt goes 48.700 on bars, which could be a problem as they typically rely on bars to be a number. They now need to get on 49.0 pace and quickly. It has to be a good vault day.

Moving on to SEC session 1.

Pitt opened vault with a 9.725 yfull from Pratt, Bobek follows with more distance on her yfull, hop back, slight leg sep on block. Duke bounce back yfull in the third spot.

Love that the SEC champs has to explain what a bye rotation is. I’m old enough to remember the 7-team SEC champs with three byes that no one was allowed to watch live.

Prejean falls on double front bars dismount so North Carolina will have to count 9.550 for Seabrooks.

Rotation 1 – Georgia on bye

Weaver – VT – Arkansas – yfull, lands short, chest down step forward, will need to drop that. 9.675

Green – UB – Missouri – toe on to maloney to pak, legs together smoothly – past on 1/2 turn on low – DLO, legs apart but good stick. 9.850

Ahern – BB – Auburn – hits wolf double – bhs loso, solid, holds onto it – cat leap to switch side, hit, a little tight – 1.5 dmt, a little under, small hop back/sideward. 9.775

Van Frayen – FX – Kentucky – clean double tuck, little bounce back – switch ring to switch 1/2, good feet, a little under on ring – front lay toi rudi, controls step, leg cossing in twist

Roberson – VT – Arkansas – ro 1/2 on front full is solid, little hop forward and some knee softness, legs apart on block. 9.850

Macpherson – UB – Missouri – tkatchev, hit, flexed feet – good hs on high – toe on to bail, legs together well, a little hip angle – solid js on high – FTDT, small hop to the side. 9.800

48.750 vault for Pitt. They’ll need to go a couple tenths over 49 pace on the last two events now.

Zancan – BB – Auburn – bhs loso, good amplitude – front tuck, high, little foot adjustment before beat jump and then a wobble – full turn, another wobble – 1.5 dmt, deep with a leg sep but holds the landing. 9.725

Rizo – FX – Kentucky – front through to double tuck, good chest up, controls the step – doubel pike, some lack of control trying to hold the step back – switch 1/2 to popa – slide forward on final pass. 9.825

Cucci – VT – Arkansas – Y1.5, medium hop forward, good layout. 9.800

Kelly – UB – Missouri – toe on to church to overshoot is hit well, just some foot position – good hs – toe on to stalder to double tuck, solid stick. 9.875

Bennett – FX – Kentucky – double pike, off control on landing with a balance check – switch ring to wolf hop full, looked under on switch ring – front lay to front full, a little deep and low, step – double tuck, holds it. 9.750

Huff – BB – Auburn – side aerial to loso off line and falls, so they’ll count those 9.7s – now a wobble on a beat jump – sticks dmt

Terry – UB – Missouri – hits hs on high – toe on to gienger to overshoot is excellent – FTDT, small step back. 9.850

Klein lands short on y1.5 for Arkansas with step back. 9.750

Gardner – FX – Kentucky – DLO, very high, bounce back out of control – switch side 1/2 to wolf full, under position on wolf – front tuck through to double tuck. pulls it out, under control – pike 1/2 shushunova. 9.825

Horton – UB – Missouri – shaposh to pak, good legs on pak – better vertical than most on 1/2 turn on low – hits hs on high – DLO, struggles to try to control the stick, ends up with big arm circle and lean forward. 9.750

Hagle – BB – Auburn – aerial to bhs, good knee position on aerial, well connected – side aerial, holds it – split to stag ring to korbut, I like it, not super ringed on the stag ring but I’m into the combo – gainer pike, stick. 9.800

Rodriguez FX Kentucky – front 2/1 to layout, good – switch side to wolf full – double tuck, big bounce back – back 1.5 to 1/2 to straddle, good control

Echolds – UB – Missouri – bail, good legs together – hits hs on high – blind to khorkina, good feet, not the highest – hits hs – DLO, stuck. Nailed it. 9.900

Brose – FX – Kentucky – double pike, great, chest up, under control – pulls around tour jete 1/2 to wolf full – front full to layout, dance out – front 2/1, not her biggest one but sells the control

Irvine – BB – Auburn – kickover and falls trying to connect out of it

Price – VT – Arkansas – y1.5, good one, little hop forward. 9.925

Every time they say “Baby Gigi” I think they’re going to say “Baby Jesus.” That’s the new recruiting strategy. You won’t stop hashtagging Jesus? Well, we have Baby Jesus on our teammmmmmmm

Neal – BB – Auburn – bhs loso loso, solid – switch, wobbles before split jump, breaks the combo – 1.5, leans to hold. 9.500 with mostly 9.7 SVs for no dance combo.

After 1
Missouri 49.275
Kentucky 49.175
Arkansas 49.150
Auburn 48.025

Not a great first rotation overall. Everyone except Kimarra Echols has lost their minds. Kentucky could pass Auburn in the rankings with a result here, and they’re on pace to do it. But they also have to stay ahead of Ohio State.

Rotation 2Arkansas on a bye

Hofseth – VT – Kentucky – yfull, odd landing with a step and then another shuffle step. 9.675

Bacskay – UB – Georgia – pulls back an arch on first hs – pak, good form – toe on to van leeuwen, legs together well – giant full to double tuck, arm circle to hold it. 9.850

Wier – BB – Missouri – aerial, little arm wave – works through it into bhs loso series but then falls – ends with gainer full hop back

Irvine – FX – Auburn – rudi to double stag, a little out of control into the corner but stays in – tour jete 1/2 to wolf full, under position –

Rizo – VT – Kentucky – yfull, great height, just pikes down at the end to find stick. 9.900

Pierson – UB – Georgia – legs together on maloney to pak – a little past on 1/2 turn on low – tight hs on high – toe full, good finish position into a stuck double tuck. 9.825

Bartman – FX – Auburn – back 1.5 to front lay, hit, a little low of amplitude on layout so arches it – switch side 1/2 to straddle, I think was fine but we cut in between because leaps aren’t real. Today’s judges are like, “I AGREE!” – wolf double, hit – double pike, bounce back

Gardner – VT – Kentucky – hs pike 1/2 bounce back, a little short with chest down but solid

Wahl – UB – Georgia – good hs – toe on to maloney to pak, nice height – small leg sep – 1/2 turn on low, a little past – good hs on high – DLO, nice stick

Jackson – BB – Missouri – aerial, good leg position, connects to bhs but a big wobble after that, lean forward at the chest to horizontal – switch to switch 1/2, great positions but tight again with a lean wobble after it – full turn – split to beat, very good – gainer pike, hop forward.

Pitt 49.050 on floor. They need the beam of their lives now for regionals. 49.125+. Season high is 48.825. Put in Caseyyyyyy.

Noonan – VT – Kentucky – ro 1/2 on pike 1/2, good distance, small hop back, solid. 9.850

Woolford – UB – Georgia – nice hs on high – pak is huge – good hs on low – toe on to van leeuwen, legs together- hits hs on high – stalder to open double tuck, hop forward. But a strong one. 9.900

Greaves – FX – Auburn – front tuck through to double tuck, constrols the step back – switch ring to switch ring 1/2, kind of rushes but shows the position – double pike,. chest down but controls

Westerlind – BB – Missouri – bhs loso, solid height – hitch kick to kickover, just keeps moving into beat – full turn, slow and smooth – beat to switch side, a little crooked, secure –

Scott – UB – Georgia – hits hs – Ray is huge and too huge into pak, hits her knees first on the mat – keeps going but that’s a fall – shuffle back on dismount

Rodriguez – VT – Kentucky – Y1.5, gets it with a bounce to the side

Huff – FX – Auburn – FTDT, controls the step, little leg position – switch ring, works through footwork into tour jete 1/2, around – front lay to front full to front tuck is solid – 9.875

Kelly – BB – Missouri – aerial, keeps moving into bhs – small arm correction on side aerial – slight waver on wolf double – 1.5 dmt, stuck. 9.875

Reingold – UB – Georgia – blind to very strong piked jaeger – pak, legs together solidly – sticks DLO. 9.925

Opening fall for Pitt on beam.

Cashion – VT – Kentucky – handspring pike 1/2, good landing, chest down but secure

FINAL
Georgia 197.450
Missouri 197.075
Arkansas 196.975
Kentucky 196.925
Auburn 195.300

Most significant development here is at the bottom of the standings, as Auburn’s missed meet will allow Kentucky to move into the top 16 to be seeded at their own regional, bumping Auburn into the unseeded positions. They’d go to the LSU regional on geography.

Missouri moves ahead of Arkansas for 8th, but 8-9 go to the same regional semifinal, so that’s only going to become significant if Michigan and/or Stanford make it significant later.

Georgia wins the session but not enough to challenge UCLA for 5th.

And look, they’ve even given us a nice break to restore sanity before the night sessions. (It won’t work. I’m dead inside. I’m a husk.)

After 1
Michigan 49.550
UCLA 49.425
Michigan State 49.400
Minnesota 49.300

Michigan with the lead on UCLA after one. Interested to see where they go for UCLA on floor because I thought the earlier session was loose, and then Michigan went 49.550, and now UCLA is going there. If they can pull out some 49.7+ thing, it will tell us where we’re going here.

Are we sure this is Carly Bauman’s last Big Ten Championship? She doesn’t have 17 more years of eligibility?

Rotation 2

Davis – VT – Michigan – yfull, medium bounce back, a little pike. 9.800

Abney – BB – MSU – wolf double, little hesitation – hits loso securely – switch to split leap, nice split leap, just a little slow in combo – beat jump – side aerial tuck 1.5, good stick

Team can’t decide whether she got a 10 or not. May or may not know how Big Tens work.

10.000 for Chiles. Not her strongest on that final pass, not one of her 10ier 10s. Also felt inevitable with how loose floor has been.

After 2
UCLA 99.100
Michigan State 98.775
Minnesota 98.675
Michigan 98.650

A pretty ragged vault for Michigan drops them from first to last. UCLA does take advantage of floor for a pretty big lead, but will have to get through vault as Michigan State gets to go to floor now.

ACC and Big 12 about to get started. Will want to keep an eye on the scores there. The implications. They’re so implicationy.

Rotation 3

Sumanasekera – VT – UCLA – yfull, good layout position, a little forward on landing with a shuffle. 9.850

Jordan – UB – Michigan – good first hs – blind to jaeger gets very crooked in the air with a close catch – is able to cast out and get the bail – giant full is solid into double tuck, chest down hop forward

Lew – UB – Michigan – nice first hs – toe 1/2 to piked jaeger, good – pak, small leg sep – hits hs on high – DLO, pikes down and lands locked with a little shuffle around. 9.750

Surprising beam situation for Minnesota as Lyuden also falls.

Smith – FX – Michigan St – FTDT, chest up well, slide back – straddle jump – switch side 1/2 to straddle – front tuck through to double tuck, right on, good landing. 9.950

After 3
UCLA 148.550
Michigan State 148.225
Michigan 147.775
MInnesota 147.250

Minnesota counts a fall on beam and Michigan counts a couple 9.7s on bars to fall back. UCLA a comfortable lead but Michigan State still in this if they have one of their vault rotations and UCLA is steppy on bars.

Over at ACCs, they’ve said absolutely not to any of this to the beginning of Stanford’s vault rotation, so it’s going to be a real battle now.

Rotation 4

Tucker – VT – Michigan St – better Y1.5, little hop forward

Swartzmiller – FX – Minnesota – rudi to straddle jump, I like the twisting form in the rudi- switch side 1/2 to straddle 1/2, good – 1.5 to lay is also solid. That was a nice one.

Ranger – BB – Michigan – bhs loso, good amplitude, comfortable landing – switch to pike jump – kickover with arm circle wobble

Six-way tie for the win on bars because everyone is equally almost perfect.

Lyden – FX – Minnesota – good control on front full out of first pass – 2.5, good control as well there

Kellerman – VT – Michigan State – handspring pike 1/2, great, little hop back

Bauman – BB – Michigan – full turn – bhs loso, secure landing – – split to straddle 1/2, little check – side somi, another small lean correction – switch 1/2, a little under – gainer pike, good stick

We have a one tenth team deduction for Michigan now and still no score for Ranger. Out of order?

FINAL (?)
UCLA 198.100
Michigan State 197.475
Minnesota 196.900
Michigan 196.800

Still waiting on a score for Ranger, so Michigan’s total might change. But it looks like they’re ahead of Michigan State and behind Missouri/Arkansas regardless. And there’s even a few minutes for hand replacement surgery before SECs starts.

Ranger is in with 9.825, so only min

UCLA moves ahead of Alabama but Alabama could still go back in front for 4th with a season high in a second.

I did not see Ana Padurariu’s bars, but what I am seeing is a 5.200. Looks like she fell on a maloney and was a little shaken up and they decided to pull her. So Utah is counting a 9.575 on bars for 49.050.

Denver leads Utah by .050 after 2.

Cal leads Clemson by .075 after 2, but Stanford is pulling it back quickly.

Our typical sprouts promo where the gymnasts get a bag of chips. They’re like, “Thanks? You know my boyfriend gets given like, cars, right?”

Rotation 1

Blessey – VT – Oklahoma – handspring pike 1/2, solid, bounce back

Zeiss – UB – LSU – hits first hs – toe on to maloney to pak, smooth – solid attention to 1/2 turn on low – hits hs on high – FTDT, flexed feet, staggered landing, good stick

9.900s for both opening routines. Strap in.

Draser – BB – Florida – we are in ORANGE tonight – bhs loso, secure – switch, little pause before switch 1/2, under split position – 1.5 dmt, leg crossing, good stick

LaCoursiere – FX – Alabama – double tuck, good chest up position – really struggles on leap combo, lower switch ring and then misses her feet into a full twisting hop nothing – front lay, some form, into rudi to straddle

Still gets 9.825 with a major error on dance combo, so that’s where we are

Wells – VT – Oklahoma – Y1.5, medium step forward

Cowan – UB – LSU – good frist sh – Ray to overshoot, is solid – hits hs on high – DLO, hop back. 9.850

Arana – BB – Florida – bhs loso, smooth – aerial, good extension in front leg – switch to switch 1/2, tight, under split with a wobble – gainer full, stuck. 9.800

Rybicki – FX – Alabama – double tuck, chest down, controls – switch side 1/2 to popa, a little indistinct – back 1.5 to front full, good control, soft knees

Scheible – VT – Oklahoma – handspring pike 1/2, good height, bounce back, not as much distnace as Blessey but high

Blakely – BB – Florida – wolf triple, comfortably around – aerial to bhs, smoothly connected – switch 1/2 to beat, good lift in switch 1/2 – wolf jump – hold stick on gainer full. 9.900

Ulrich – UB – LSU – toe on to maloney, leg sep, into pak, hit – 1/2 turn on low, fine – DLO, little bounce up in place. 9.900

Estep – VT – Oklahoma – Y1.5, lunge forward, a bit of knees

Matters – FX – Alabama – front tuck through to double tuck, good control – switch side to popa, a little out of control – double pike, controls the step

Frazier – BB – Florida – aerial, continues moving to loso, small check – split to split ring, excellent – 1.5 dmt, holds onto stick. 9.850

Chio – UB – LSU – maloney with leg separation into bail, good vertical – solid hs on high – blind to khorkina, fine – hits hs on high – FTDT, clean stick. 9.950

Mueller – VT – Oklahoma – Y1.5, lower, lands under with a step back. Still gets 9.825. Everything is the same. There are no mistakes.

Ra-Akbar – FX – Alabama – front through to 2.5, does well to control the landing – nice switch ring to switch 1/2 – 1.5 to layout, good

DiCello – BB – Florida – candle mount, hit – wolf double, good – switch to split, well done – bhs loso, hits, was a little forward, controls it well – aerial, good – gainer full, good stick.

Blackson – UB – LSU – bail, legs together – hits hs on high – blind to khorkina, good height – DLO, a little piking, hop back and extra adjustment movement.

Fatta – VT – Oklahoma – nearly sticks Y1.5, a little movement and then extra adjustment to try to hold finish position

Harris-Miranda – BB – Florida – bhs loso bhs, comfortable – switch to straddle 1/4, solid – full turn, hit – 1.5 dmt, holds onto the stick.

Sears – FX – Alabama – DLO, legs a little apart, leap landing but a bad angle to see it – switch side 1/2 to popa – front tuck through to double tuck. controls step back. 9.850 with a 9.750/9.900 split.

McClain – UB – LSU – Church was insanely close – casts out of it – pak is hit – 1/2 turn on low, good position – hits hs on high – FTDT, step back

A gigantic error, so I assume 9.825? Oh, 9.750.

Gladieux – FX – Alabama – FTDT, chest up, controls step back, leg separation in shins, or as Taylor says “perfect” – tour jete 1/2 to popa, around well – rudi to split jump, shows control. 9.950

After 1
Florida 49.525
LSU 49.475
Alabama 49.425
Oklahoma 49.325

Oklahoma in last after one rotation is the surprise there. No stuck vaults. I do think Florida had the strongest first rotation, but there’s no such thing as mistakes, just being Southern Differently, so everyone is very close.

Utah 49.525 on beam to open up a big lead at Big 12s now.

Rotation 2

Pederson – UB – Oklahoma – hits first hs – Ray, solid – righter hs after – toe on to pak, legs together well – 1/2 turn on low, a little late – strong hs on high – DLO, leans forward to hold the stick. 9.900

G Disidore – FX – Florida – rudi to double stag, controls it, slightly soft knees – back 1.5 to front lay, step forward, stays in bounds but a balance correction to do so. 9.825

LaCoursiere – VT – Alabama – y1.5, larger hop forward. 9.825

Coen – BB – LSU – aerial to beat jump, hit – bhs loso, chest down but secure – switch to split, tighter today – 2/1, bounce back. 9.850

Murphy – UB – Oklahoma – toe on to maloney to pak, clean. Sticks double tuck. 9.950

Sears – VT – Alabama – Y1.5, hop forward and a very silly lean to try to show control like she got poked in the back. 9.800

Ferris – FX – Florida – FTDT, just holds the front foot down – switch side 1/2 to straddle, comfortable – back 1.5 to layout, good straight position, not a lot of rise into the layout –

Zeiss – BB – LSU – beat jump, side aerial, balance – aerial to bhs, lean to the side wobble – switch to split is comfortable – wolf double, hit, little arm to control – gainer tuck full, stuck, some direction. 9.800

Fatta – UB – Oklahoma – Church to pak good height – hits hs on high – DLO, little pike, little landing movement –

Frazier – FX – Florida – DLO, not as high as she can, pikes it down at the end but does control the landing – excellent ring and switch position – front tuck through to double tuck, just keeps front foot down it looked. 9.900

Gladieux – VT – Alabama – Y1.5, bound forward, some knee position. 9.800

Drayton – BB – LSU – switch 1/2, I love that she can be tight and still hit the switch 1/2 position better than most – bhs loso, good – switch and split – 2/1, slide back. 9.850

Estep hits Tkatchev, a little close but hit. Stuck FTDT.

Paradise – VT – Alabama – Y1.5, lands a little short and slides back and continues to slide to the side

DiCello – FX – Florida – FTDT, little bounce back, some legs apart in the air – 1.5 to front lay, hit

Lincoln – BB – LSU – aerial leans through it to connect to bhs – switch to split jump, excellent position and height – bhs 1.5, good stick. 9.900

Scheible – UB – Oklahoma – blind to jaeger – a little tight on hs – bail – better hs on high – FTDT, great position and stuck

Ra-akbar – VT – Y1.5, great position in the air but another large bounce forward and still goes 9.900

McClain – BB – LSU – switch to switch 1/2 to beat – aerial to bhs, connected smoothly – full turn is solid – side aerial, holds it – gainer full, hodls landing/ 9.950

Torrez – UB – Oklahoma – Ray, hit – toe on to pak, small leg break but improved from earilier – a little past on 1/2 turn – hits hs on high – DLO, little shuffle together and gets 9.950.

Kvamme – VT – Alabama – Y1.5 is hit, hop forward, some knees

Harris-Miranda – FX – Florida – front tuck through to double tuck, bounce back, legs a little apart in double tuck – switch side 1/2 to straddle to shushunova – 1.5 to 1/2 to double stag, shows control

Chio – BB – LSU – bhs mount, good – bhs loso, solid – full turn, holds it – aerial to split jump, smooth – switch to split is good – 1.5 dmt, a little deep but holds onto the stick. 9.950.

After 2
LSU 98.975
Florida 98.950
Oklahoma 98.925
Alabama 98.600

Congratulations on being the same, for you are the same.

Aba Barbosu goes 9.950 on floor but it’s not enough to pass Clemson (!) which wins the ACC title with a 49.450 on bars. Stanford had huge numbers on the last three but couldn’t come back from 48.800 on vault.

Oklahoma pulled it back in contention with the top score of rotation 2, Alabama falling off the pace with some landing struggles on vault.

Justin Howell is being interviewed and the team tried to put a championship hat on him during the interview and he was like ABSOLUTELY NOT, respect the hair.

Utah goes 49.725 on floor to get to 197.675 and win the Big 12 by more than a point.

Rotation 3

Walker – UB – Alabama – hits first hs – maloney to pak, small leg sep at the end – van leeuwen – FTDT, legs slightly apart, good stick. 9.875

Pilgrim – VT – Florida – y1.5 is hit, hop forward, not going to be the most dynamics, but solid. 9.900

Innes – FX – LSU – front 2/1, good lift, little slide forward, large bounce forward on second pass – tour jete 1/2 to popa, under split on tour jete – rudi to double stag, under control. 9.900

Fatta – BB – Oklahoma – bhs loso, holds onto it – side aerial check – angle in split on switch side – switch to split, good – gainer full, lean forward to hold the stick. 9.875

Gladieux – UB – Alabama – blind to jaeger to overshoot, good amplitude, some foot flexing and leg separation – gaint full is past, into double tuck, flexed feet, good stick. 9.850

DiCello – VT – Florida – Y1.5, hop forward, bit of knees, great distance

Coen – FX – LSU – front 2/1, hit, slightly out of control on back leg – front lay to front full – tour jete 1/2 to popa popa is around –

Murphy – BB – Oklahoma – bhs loso, good extension – aerial, a bit of front knee, comfortable full turn – split ring jump – gainer full, good stick

Fuller – UB – Alabama – tight first hs – pak, smooth – toe on to van leeuwen, leg form is nice – a little tight in all these hs – DLO, piking, holds onto landing.

Ferris – VT – Florida – solid Y1.5, medium hop forward.

Pederson – BB – Oklahoma – secure on the bhs loso series – side somi , hit – hitch kick to switch side, tight straddle position – 2/1 dismount step back

Drayton – FX – LSU – DLO, short today, chest forward with step – switch ring to switch 1/2 is excellent – front tuck through to double tuck, chest down and step. 9.825. Mistakes are 9.825 and the same as hits.

Blakely – VT – Florida – medium hop back on Lopez

Lacoursiere – UB – Alabama – maloney to pak, great form on pak – hits hs on low – van leeuwen, nice – hits hs on high – FTDT, big lean forward and arm circle to try to hold stick

Chio – FX – LSU – open FTDT, step back, borderline but I think she stays in – switch ring to tour jete 1/2, around well, solid rhythm in the passage of dance today – 2.5 to front tuck, quick step out but under control

Mueller sticks dismount for 9.900

Harris – VT – Florida – lands short on Y1.5 with a slide back and then doesn’t hold finish position in step salute

Ra-Akbar – UB – Alabama – hits hs on high – toe on to pak, great – toe on to van leeuwen – good – toe on to double tuck, hop back

Torrez – BB – Oklahoma – wolf jump, high – side aerial to loso, excellent – full turn – switch to straddle, good positions – bhs gainer full, high, stuck

And we have a 10.000 for Torrez. All four judges.

Lincoln – FX – LSU – DLO, high, controls the step back – switch to gogean, around clearly for credit – front lay to front full, high, good. Nice routine. 9.950. One judge goes 10.

After 3
Oklahoma 148.550
LSU 148.500
Florida 148.375
Alabama 148.000

Well, we’ve got ourselves the makings. Oklahoma gets to finish on floor. Florida gets to finish on their best event. LSU has the big three to finish on vault.

Rotation 4

Zeiss – VT – LSU – Y1.5, solid pop, little hop forward, some loose knees. 9.875. One judge went 9.950, so this is going to be an experience. 9.800-9.950 split

Frazier – UB – Florida – toe on to maloney to pak, hit, slightly loose back – hits hs on high – DLO, holds onto the stick

LaCoursiere – BB – Alabama – check on double stag – aerial to bhs, hit, a bit of knee – 1.5, stick. 9.850

Murphy – FX – Oklahoma – front through to double tuck, controls it, some chest position – back 1.5 to layout, not the highest one – switch 1/1. 9.900

McClain – VT – LSU – clean yfull, bounce back. 9.850

Pilgrim – UB – Florida – maloney to tkatchev hit, solid distance on tkatchev, the maloney is always a little flatter than others – pak is good – 1/2 turn on low, a little past – FTDT, good stick. 9.925

Birt – BB – Alabama – wolf single – aerial to split jump, good split position – bhs loso, solid landing, good position – beat to split ring jump tentiative with a wobble

Fatta – FX – Oklahoma – front full through to 2.5, works it out, but a little off to the side and some knee position – tour jete 1/2 to popa, around – front 2/1, slightly under-rotated with a crossover step. 9.925, I had more things than that.

Roberts – VT – LSU – good amplitude on handspring pike 1/2 but a pretty big bounce back. Still goes 9.900.

Blakely – UB – Florida – Stalder tkatchev piked to pak, very good – 1/2 turn on low, finish position is correct – toe higgins, a little past, to double front 1/2 out, good landing. 9.975. Here comes Florida.

Wells – FX – Oklahoma – front tuck through to double tuck, slide back – switch full to wolf full, gets it around – back 1.5 to front lay, very clean.

Lincoln – VT – LSU – Y1.5, great height and distance but did have two separate hops on landing, so you have to deduct for both

DiCello – UB – Florida – good first hs – Church to pak, nice, legs together – van leeuwen, legs together, FTDT, great. Another 9.975

Pawlak – FX – Oklahoma – double pike, controls the front foot – switch 1/2 to wolf full, switch 1/2 a little under, nice wolf full – back 1.5 to front full, a bit of knees, under control. 9.875

Drayton – FX – LSU – Y1.5, with a ltitle hop, and then the mat slid under her feet causing another step

Harris – UB – Florida – good first hs – Ray, solid – good hs on high – toe on to bail, legs together – precise position – hits hs on high – DLO, piking, which you need to take, good stick. 10.000. I feel like DiCello’s is more of a 10 than Harris’s, they’re just in different places in the lineup.

Mueller – FX – Oklahoma – front tuck through to double tuck, chest down movement – rudi with chest down and hop to the side – that should be the dropped score.

Chio – VT – LSU – holds onto the stick, a little lock legged with a lean so not her best, but good. Still gets 9.975 because we’re soooo done. Scores are vibes and situational, not routine based.

McCusker – UB – Florida – good hs – stalder shap to pak, good form – van leeuwen, legs together – stalder to double tuck, deeeeeep landing and a hop, so shouldn’t be a counter, but who knows. And a 9.925. OK fine.

Estep – FX – Oklahoma – front lay to front 2/1, good control, just a bit of knees – switch 1/2 to wolf full, a little under – 2.5 with dance out, good routine, should not get the score they need to win though. She still gets a 9.950 and will come a .025 shy of Florida.

Oooooh boy.

FINAL
Florida 198.175
Oklahoma 198.150
LSU 197.950
Alabama 197.475

I’m good with it. Florida was very strong on bars and beam. Not awesome on vault and floor, but neither was anyone today, really? I don’t think Oklahoma’s finishing floor today was of the level that the scores are trying us it was. Scores very much built at the end of the meet. Final rotation bias, but Florida was by far the best of the three contenders in the final rotation.

So Oklahoma clinches season ending #1. LSU will be 2 and Florida 3. UCLA moves ahead of Alabama for 4th, Alabama drops to 5th.
