Cast to Handstand, Straight

Uneven Bars

Skill type

Known as
Straight cast
[I have ignored it and am waiting for the skills to start]

The cast to handstand with a straight body, rather than straddled, is an entirely separate skill in the code of points with a different value—B rather than A—to reflect the increased difficulty in reaching an exact handstand from a straight position rather than with straddled legs and the increased likelihood of deductions.

Because the straight handstand is still just a B element, it doesn’t really matter whether you’re performing a straddle cast or a straight cast because you’re not counting that skill as one of your 8 elements anyway.

Because gymnastics is a comedy, not a drama
