2026 US Nationals – Day 2 Live Blog

We’re down to 18 seniors for today with the withdrawals of Fulcher and of Hang, now that she fulfilled the need of doing a single routine.

Blakely and Pease are tied for the lead on 55.600, with Bullock just behind them on 55.400, and Rivera six tenths back on 55.000 after her bars miss on Friday. Rivera is close enough that if she hits 4-for-4 she should be able to move into first, but her margin for mistakes has now been expended.

Rotation 1

Carey – VT 1 – DTY, great height, somewhat less control than the first day with a stagger bounce back. But a higher score. 14.250.

Moreau – BB – pulls around a wolf turn – side aerial to loso is strong, secure landing – aerial to straddle, little pause before split.

Pease – UB – fron stadler and inbar are hit – inbar shap to tkatchev, solid – pak, good height – stalder shap 1/2 – 1/2 to double front 1/2 out, a little short, hop forward. 14.350

Molomo – FX – memmel turn, maybe drops a bit early – DLO, slide back – back full to double pike, chest lower with a hop forward – tour jete 1/2 to switch side 1/2, solidly around – front tuck through to double tuck, little shuffle forward

Carey – VT – 2 – strong Lopez, little bounce back, some piking –

Crain – switch 1/2, pause before split ring with a check – aerial, leg up check before split and straddle – bhs loso is solid – wolf double is hit – side aerial, lean to the side correction – bhs bhs 2/1, bounce back

Stuck DLO from Anzola on bars.

Hop forward from Rose on Y1.5. Stassi follows with solid Y1.5 with hop to the side. Second vault from Stassi is Omelaianchik, lands quite deep with a large lunge forward.

Drusch – UB – clear hip to toe full to maloney to pak, solid combination – van leeuwen, solid – hits hs on high – blind to jaeger, good foot positions – 1/2 turn a bit past – DLO, step back. Nice one.

Richardson on floor, second pass in whip back full to double tuck, plenty of height, bounce back – tour jete 1/2 to switch 1/1, pulls around the feet at the end, solid split positions – wolf triple, gets there – front tuck though to double pike, shows good control.

Rivera – UB – weiler 1/2 to toe full to stalder shap to stalder to Downie to pak, just gets it with a leg break in the pak – maloney to tkatchev is hit – little arch in 1/2 turn on high, pulls it back – FTDT, step. A couple places where that could have gone awry but pulled it back for a big hit. And the way this meet has been going, presumably a 16.999.

Just 13.850, which is conservative for this meet.

Blakely – FX – back 1.5 to front full, front full is way low and sits it down – double front, under but saves it with a step back, no stag combination – lower leg on tour jete, hits switch ring – wolf 2.25 – front 2/1 to front tuck, gets that combination today but bounces forward OOB. Just a little off from the start.

Damleio hits Seitz to pak on bars – maloney to gienger – double front, deep but gets it with a shuffle forward.

Esponda – BB – hits mount – back tuck, secure – side aerial to loso is right on – switch to switch 1/2, under split, check – wolf to straddle – hits wolf with a check – double pike, hop back. Nice one overall.

Bullock – BB – full turn witch an arm wave – bhs loso, wobble, pulls it back – switch to spl;it jump 1/2 to bhs, gets the series, back leg down on the split 1/2 – switch 1/2, also secure – side aerial, check – aerial to split to korbut – side somi, arm wave to control – 2.5, step to the side. Checks and feet but minimized them for the most part for a useful hit.

Caylor – BB – hits bhs loso loso with arm wave to the side – split ring jump, small check – sdei aerial to switch to switch 1/2, under split but secure – aerial, pause before split, pause before korbut – wolf double is good – gets the double pike, chest well down but landed, step back. 13.350

After 1
1. Pease – 69.950
2. Rivera – 68.850
3. Bullock – 68.700
4. Carey – 68.650
5. Blakely – 67.500

Blakely’s miss on the back 1.5 + front full mount on floor drops her back to fifth. Pease getting another big bars number has given her a big lead after one, but Rivera has moved up to 2nd.

Rotation 2

Rose – UB – weiler 1/2 to maloney, some leg break into full on high to pak, smooth – van leeuwen – tkatchev – clear hip DLO 1/1, solid, little pike, small step to the side

Richardson – VT – DTY, solid, lunge back

Anzola pretty solid double pike beam dismount, only a small step. Stassi opens bars with a strong weiler 1/2 to maloney to clear hip to church combo.

Blakely – VT – nice height on the Lopez, pike at the end, step back.

Molomo – VT – very good height on Y1.5, hop forward. Amanar when.

Drusch – BB – strong loso mount – bhs loso, hit – aerial to split to straddle, tighter on those leaps – side aerial, hit – switch to switch 1/2 – side somi

Carey – UB – toe on to bhardwaj, legs apart – van leeuwen, small leg break – yezhova with a straddle – a bit shy on hs – maloney to giegner is solid – giant full – DLO1/1, little step forward. The form things to take her into the mid 7s presumably but a solid hit

Esponda – FX – double double tuck, solid, small slide back – DLO, shuffle back onto the line, no flag – wolf 3.25 – barani to double tuck, good stick with a stagger – tour jete 1/2 and switch 1/2 – double pike, small slide – straight jump double closer today, some form. Great one. Better than day 1, so do we hear a 9.0 E score?

Rivera – BB – wolf double, hit – side aerial, arm wave before split and straddle, good splits – bhs lay, some pike and legs apart but secure – aerial to split ring jump to korbut, close enough for combo credit? – switch ring, arm wave – switch – bhs bhs double pike, check down, step back. Solid. 14.400.

Bullock – FX – FTDT, shuffle back – whip back full to double tuck, hop – memmel turn, should get it – tour jete 1/2 to switch 1/2, a but under on splits – front 2/1 dance out with some leg crossing – 2.5, medium step. 13.550

Caylor – FX – DLO, to her feet, pikes down some at the end with a hop – whip back full to double tuck to front tuck, pretty good height – wolf double – double pike, secure landing, just a little movement – 13.300

Pease – BB – wolf double, around – gets switch to split to onodi – bhs loso loso, wobble, leg up – aerial to straddle bhs – side aerial, good – switch, nice height – 2.5, leg crossing, hop to the side. Another solid hit. 13.800

After 2
1. Pease – 83.750
2. Rivera – 83.250
3. Bullock – 82.250
4. Carey – 82.050
5. Esponda/Blakely – 81.450

The WOGAs are separating. Rivera gained 6 tenths during the beam rotation and now trails by 5 tenths heading to floor. On the first day, Rivera outscored Pease by .450 on floor.

Rotation 3

Esponda – VT – DTY, nice form and direction, hop back. Good one.

Stassi holds onto a stuck double tuck on beam. chest down.

Bullock – VT – good height on DTY, larger lunge back out of the area

Blakely – UB – stlader to church, hit – Downie to pak, nice – toe full to van leeuwen, leg separation – toe higgins to front giant to double front 1/2, small step back. Good.

Caylor – VT – DTY is pretty solid, hop back, a little more crunched than the top scores, but good

Rivera – FX – DLO 1/1, solid landing, good control, just a little pike – DLO, also very solid – switch full to knee – wolf double – front tuck through to double tuck, hop back – split ring and switch ring – hit – 2.5, some leg crossing. step forward. Excellent. Now what do they do after day 1 got an 8.2 E score? Because this was basically a point better in landings.

I still feel like the worlds panel is going to resent that switch full to knee cover so much they won’t give it.

14.300 for Rivera and a 8.500 E score.

Moreau sticks a Y1.5

Carey – BB – bigger wobble on switch side, arm – aerial to split to korbut, gets the series – bhs loso, very small lean correction – side aerial, holds it – switch to switch 1/2, under, to split, gets the mixed series again – bhs bhs double tuck, very deep, large lunge back, saves it to her feet

Rose – BB – switch mount to switch lower back leg on switch – solid wolf – bhs loso loso, small check, some knee through it – aerial, solid – side aerial to split to straddle – 2.5 dmt, under rotated with crossover step and leg crossing –

Pease – FX – double double tuck, lunge back OOB – DLO, some pike down, bounce back – switch ring to switch 1/2, nice height on switch 1/2 – back 1.5 to rudi, bounce back, intently keeps the back foot up to avoid another OOB – 2.5, bounce, some leg crossing. We should probably see Rivera take the lead. 13.200 for Pease, so she’ll drop well behind Rivera now.

Anzola – FX – DLO, pike down, hop forward – back 2.5 to front tuck, lands a bit under with a hop back – double tuck, solid, little slide – double pike, little hop back

After 3
1. Rivera – 97.550
2. Pease – 96.950
3. Bullock – 96.450
4. Blakely – 95.700
5. Esponda – 95.600
6. Carey – 94.950

Rivera comfortably out in front now and should hold onto that with a hit DTY.

Rotation 4

Carey – FX – DLO 1/1, comfortable in the air but several little shuffles into the corner on landing – double double tuck, hop back – tour jete 1/2 – back 1.5 to front full to remembering to a pause and then a stag – double tuck, bigger bounce back

Blakely – BB – neck roll mount – falls on wolf triple – solid hit from Esponda o bars while that was happening – back up and hits the back tuck full – fhs to front tuck, and a second fall – front pike is secure – switch, wobble – switch 1/2 – aerial to split to wolf – double tuck, laerge lunge back

Rose – FX – whip to double tuck, solid, little movement – back 1.5 to front full, hop to the side – double pike, hop back

Rivera – VT – solid DTY, little hop back and some direction. That will clinch the title. A classic 56.950 AA. 14.400.

Bullock – UB – front stalder 1/2 to inbar full to to inbar shap to pak. nice – van leeuwen, small leg separation – inbar 1/2 to jaeger, good foot positions – FTDT, shins apart, step back. Good one.

Stassi – FX – double double tuck, gets it, bounce back, keeps it in bounds – FTDT, hop – tour jete 1/2 to switch 1/2 to popa, tighter positions there – back 1.5 to front full, some knees, hit – double tuck, little hop

Pease – VT – hits DTY, lunge back and out of the area

Pease 2nd vault is a Lopez, pike, bounce back

Caylor – UB – toe full to maloney to pak, smooth – van leeuwen, small leg break – blind to jaeger, good – DLO, step back. Good day for her.

Krob double tuck beam dismount to all fours

Moreau – UB – weiler 1/2 to maloney to clear hip to Church and falls because we can’t have nice things

Richardson – BB – side aerial to loso series is solid – gets the wolf double around, little teeter – aerial to split to sissone, good series – switch to split to bhs – double pike, step back

Crain – UB – front stalder and pulls out a 1/2 turn – maloney to stalder to Ricna and falls – resumes and a peel off on a stalder into low bar and she’s down after the second fall

Rosa on bars to finish up the meet, falls on a Ricna. Resumes and finishes with a solid FTDT, hop forward.

7. Blakely – 107.300
8. Moreau/Stassi – 107.100

Rivera wins her second consecutive national title. Pease, Bullock, Esponda reconfirmed that they are in first conversation when we get to the worlds election camp. Blakely a rough day 2 here to drop down the standings, but can erase that at camp.

Rose, Richardson, and Drusch round out the top 12. Molomo dropped to 13th after a big miss on bars.
