Clear-Hip 1/2 or Full Dismount

Uneven Bars

Skill type

Known as
1/2 turn dismount
Full turn off

Of note, you can’t just drop off the bar and have that count as a dismount. Probably makes sense so as to differentiate falling from dismounting. The simplest dismount that exists on bars requires the gymnast to perform a half or full turn while just dropping off the bar, either from toe on or from a clear-hip position.

You know this is an olde-tyme skill description that hasn’t been touched in a while because it clarifies that the dismount must be performed “to stand.” Really? Huh. I thought you were supposed to perform it straight to your ass.

Because gymnastics is a comedy, not a drama
