Front double tuck
Lilia Podkopayeva (UKR)
When you hear the named skill Podkopayeva on floor, it typically refers to the double front with a half twist—Podkopayeva’s iconic skill—though both elements are awarded to Podkopayeva in the code of points. She got the double front named after herself in 1993—one of those cases where plenty of people had done that element before, but we believe none at name-able competitions. And then in 1995, she got the true Podkopayeva.
As an ever-elusive front tumbling element, the double front is far less common that its E-rated backward tumbling brethren, though it has a few dedicated adherents. These days, when the double front comes out of hiding, it is typically cowboyed to an extreme degree, though occasionally not, fulfilling all of our wildest dreams.
