A connection-pass favorite, the front 1/1 is only rarely used as a standalone pass and only in lower-difficulty floor routines.
Rather, it tends to pop up on the back end of twisting-pass combinations, usually following a back 1.5—or for the risk-takers out there, a back 2.5 in order to sneak out 0.2 in CV. These combinations are a boon to less double-saltoy gymnasts who would prefer to stay closer to solid ground but still get a 13.200.
