Handspring Front Layout (Evdokimova)

Known as
Handspring layout

Named after
Irina Evdokimova (KAZ)

In the 2022 update, the code of points actually managed to revise the spelling of the Evdokimova vault and remove the Polish w that was in there for some reason. Good one! Now do the others.

Like most handspring vaults, the handspring front layout is almost never seen anymore in elite gymnastics. It is, however, one of the most visually divisive skills in all of gymnastics, to some appearing like the beautiful perfection of gymnastics and to others looking like a hideous rogue banana hurtling through the countryside. Or something. For instance.

Team “beautiful perfection” may have won because in the 2022 update, when pretty much every vault was hit with a 0.4 or 0.6 downgrade, this vault received only a loss of 0.2.

4.40 (2022-)
4.60 (2017-2021)
5.00 (2006–2016)

Because gymnastics is a comedy, not a drama
