As mentioned in regard to the other full-twisting pirouettes, these skills are dwindling in popularity because of the potential for major deductions for a late finish, but the piked-Stalder 1/1 still has a number of gymnasts performing it because that E value is too irresistible and starts to make it worth it (even if you know you’re getting a late-finish deduction) because it can be connected into all manner of D transitions for 0.2 CV.

For that reason, the piked Stalder 1/1 appears in the routines of the majority of high-difficulty bars workers. It’s often what separates good bars workers from the medal contenders.
